Avatar m tn t yet have strong evidence that testosterone replacement in patients with heart disease improves survival or reduces heart attacks, etc. I don't know if I would necessarily go the route of TRT unless you are having symptoms and/or have diagnosed hypogonadism (testes producing little or no hormone). I would discuss this with both your endocrinologist and cardiologist and come up with a plan that best suits you. Hope this helps!

Avatar n tn Physical Signs of Heart Disease Swelling of Your Feet and Lower Legs Retention of fluid in the feet and legs is known as peripheral edema. Edema may appear as "sock marks" at the end of the day. Mild peripheral edema is common. Your doctor may check for this sign by pressing a finger against your ankle or shin bone to see if a depression is left behind. This is called "pitting edema.
Avatar n tn Im 20, in somewhat good shape other than the heart....I get palpitations, hard beating sometimes, and need to have the valve replaced soon. Pretty much everything I ever look at says a warning about taking with heart disease but im wondering why or is that more directed towards older people with worse problems. I can still work out and go run miles so I feel like I should be fine.
Avatar m tn They can do it with a 24 hour urine test and an MRI or CT scan. Also I had a heart ablation last July for the Afib at the Heart Hospital of Austin in Austin Tx and so far it has fixed my Afib... I had a few PVCs the first 60 days following the ablation and that was all... just a real regular heart rate now... they told me it takes the heart 3 months to heal following an ablation.. but in my mind its more like 5 months for everything to get back to normal...
Avatar f tn Have any tests been carried out to rule out conditions such as coeliac disease? Has your heart been investigated? Are you constantly tachycardic or does it happen randomly or with postural changes?
Avatar m tn The most pressing problem is pain and weakness in both hands. Sometimes they have numbness and tingling and sometimes tightness and pain. But always limited use because they become to tired when writing, holding things or just showering. In addition to that I have muscle pain all over my body and have the urge to squeeze and tighten my muscles all of the time, especially my legs, back and stomach.
Avatar m tn In the March 18, 2014 Edition of the Annals of Internal Medicine, a very large meta-analysis involving 72 studies of around 600,000 people looked at the relationship between saturated fat intake and heart disease, something many august heart associations around the world have been telling us for years was a done deal.
Avatar n tn The sequence includes nerve impulses in the brain, spinal column, and area around the penis, and response in muscles, fibrous tissues, veins, and arteries in and near the corpora cavernosa. Damage to nerves, arteries, smooth muscles, and fibrous tissues, often as a result of disease, is the most common cause of ED.
Avatar m tn I am regrettably on the verge of a 1st degree heart block and also lvh is quiet visible. to understand the anatomy and physiology of the heart and muscular system will explain alot. obviously your heart is a muscle so with training it's going to grow somewhat but when u factor in things such as obesity or significant muscle mass your heart then as much more tissue to perfuse then it eer has before more resistance if you will.
Avatar m tn But long term use of testosterone and other steroids have transient effects and there is no scientific evidence that performance is enhanced. There is abuse liability so I would suggest you to follow up with a physician or endocrinologist for case to case prescriptions. Take care!
Avatar f tn Suboxone not only effects sex drive it effects Testosterone levels. There is a lot of misunderstanding of this out there. Viagra and Cialis without sex drive equals an erection that allows for sex but no satisfaction to the male if there is no drive. Low testosterone causes low sex drive and erectile dysfunction.
6970651 tn?1386600870 Has anyone out there been diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease and also had tinnitus? I have had tinnitus for 9 years and have not ever been able to find out why. Just recently I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease. I knew I had a mildly low thyroid for 9 years, but never connected the two AND my new NP was the first one to ever test for the TPO antibody. Your responses will really help me.
Avatar f tn lol trust me natural progesterone will make your husband like a 20 year old man with his sex drive and its cheap with not one side effect and can take with his heart meds i think being as your body makes progesterone male and female so substituting with more progesterone is safe.
Avatar m tn I do have a tight foreskin but this has never been an issue. I have used Viagra and Cialis and these do help but would prefer not to use them. The strange thing is that in the morning I get a very solid and hard erection (probably greater now than in my youth) which lasts for some time, someone said was due to morning testosterone levels. Could I be deficient in testosterone levels at other times of the day?
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and my tests showed a tsh 7.32 my t4 was 1.1 free t3 7.2. The test also showed that my testosterone was very low and my pituitary was very high. My doctor referred me to an endo but they can't get me in for a couple of months, so the Dr. did more tests. I just got those results and am very confused. The testosterone is good, pituitary good and my Tsh is .64, T4=.8 and freet3=3.4. I still feel cruddy. These test were less than 2 weeks apart.
Avatar f tn s whole life? These hormones protect us from a number of health problems such as heart disease, mood disorders, memory and cognition problems to name a few. I also had a hysterectomy (not for endo) and it turned my life upside down. I personally cannot imagine trying to stop taking estrogen. I wonder if I should also use testosterone since post-menopausal ovaries produce mostly testosterone, some of which can be converted into estrogen. I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn I have dislipidemia and coronary heart disease. I had a minor MI in 2001 after which I was put on ASA, a beta blocker, an ACE inhibitor and a statin. In about 2006 I started having stable angina which led to a quad. CABG in 2007. My medications are much the same as before the surgery. My lipids are excellent. By BMI is on target but I should get more exercise. Within the past year, I had what I thought was stable angina. A dye test was performed and was negative.
Avatar m tn I previously thought that testosterone therapy was just for sexual issues but I looked into testosterone gel, which they were using for the study, and it seems to treat or help depression, fatigue, stamina, immune system, all the guys in the study showed improved cognitive function and no progression of MS, and none of them had any side effects or went out of the normal ranges for testosterone levels. But I can only find one study done, has anybody ever heard of anything more on this?
Avatar n tn Was wondering if anyone out there has a confirmed high testosterone level and if removing a cyst on the ovary will change those levels. I have had a "cyst" for 10 years that I am removing because it keeps fluctuating in size and is now causing other symptoms. My whole ovary may be taken, but my hormones have neve been right anyway. Most doctors have just left it alone with followup U/S but I have had thinning hair and pain in the ovary, and now pain in my back on that side.
Avatar f tn At this age it is better to get your usband’s cardiac status checked. It is said that erectile dysfunction and heart disease go hand in hand because about 7 in 10 cases of erectile dysfunction are due to narrowing of the small arteries in the penis.
Avatar m tn s can effect your testosterone levels?I just dont understand why i feel so much brain fog and just out of it.Also, how fast does the TSH usually rise up when you have hashimoto's disease a year? I'm sure its different for everyone, but maybe someone can help out.
Avatar n tn I did have a question for you on your testosterone. These ranges are different than ours over here and i wanted to know if this is testosterone FREE or TOTAL>? can you find out? The total is the important once, but free still needs to be within an acceptable range. This may also help contribute to the libido issue.
