Does not work in many, fluconazole. Your doc may put you on terbinafine, or griseofulvin for best results.
I have been treated with Nystatin, Ketoconazole, Clotrimazole, Clotimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate, fluconazole and itraconazole, one at a time over many months.
The red inflamed area has still not gone but is not painful anymore..
I have seen an internest, a dermatologist and an infectious disease specialist.

It spread rapidly from my torso to my arms and legs, and my neck. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed Fluconazole (150mg, 1 capsule a week for 4 weeks). After a few days the lesions on my stomach began to fade, so I felt I was getting better. I have just taken my third Fluconazole pill. The bad news is that although some parts of my body are definitely better, new ringworm has appeared on my face in the last few days.
What should I do? I'm hoping to see the doctor again soon.
It cured my itch but again came back after 10 days . Then a dermatologist suggested me terbinafine and fluconazole, but it dint give much result. I tried ketoconazole soap and oitment also and it got worse. Then again I tried itraconazole 100mg twice for a month, i was cured within 10 days. But again this recurrent jock itch keeps on coming back. I am tried of taking itraconazole and applying oitment, i even wear loose cotton undergarments and change it everyday. I keep the area clean and dry.
He prescribed terbinafine for 30 days. Fluconazole did help it just didnt get rid of it completely. I will go to another Doctor to get a second opinion on the matter. Is it normal to have oral thrush for this long? Right now I am pretty worried about HIV. As I have read several articles that state that Thrush is more common with people with diabetes, Cancer or HIV among others.
It shows that fungi and yeast are both getting resistant to the fluconazole and other anti-fungals that end in azole so the Terbinafine (Lamisil) is the alternative treatment. It is safe to put on the penis, and groin area externally as a cream or spray. For yeast they can give Terbinafin (Lamisil) or Amphotericin B if you are resistant to the other treatments, but that is harder on you and not a topical or if they have one it would be a prescription.
miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. If the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist.

I was wondering what would be the best fungal medication for him to take terbinafine or fluconazole I read on the internet that sporanox is not recommended. What do you think I should tell the doctor to prescribe for a two and a half year old that would be safe.

Two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with ringworms near my groin area and on my penis. I've been taking Terbinafine tablets and applying terbinafine cream, and it's been slowly improving.
But I think the rash has spread to my fingers. The area between my fingers and near my nails is very dry and crusty, sometimes giving off a transparent liquid. There are small bumps on my fingers as well, and there's a constant urge to itch. Its been there for the past 3 days.
MD said it was a fungus and prescribed Fluconazole. Wife has it as well...however mine seems to be worse. In addition, rashes have appeared on my hands and arms, and is now beginning to appear on my lower stomach area, legs and neck. Those of which was said to be from poison ivy, but have been there for at least 2 months. For that, he prescribed Prednisone. I did just get off taking an antibiotic for a facial infection, and take clonazepam and Propranolol for anxiety.
Now this is the crazy thing that i was getting these cut feeling for about 7weeks on the corner of my lips doctor tell me there nothing there.. So doctor give me fluconazole 150 mg for 10days for and the cut feel went away at day three and when i was done with pills the they came back. could it be that i my have a fungal infection in my stomach or my digestive system or mouth? can someone help??
I was diagnosed with a mild yeast infection. My doctor prescribed fluconazole pills but it only helped a little bit. I'm still having symptoms. I think she mentioned that she could prescribe a cream. Is there a difference between over the counter creams vs prescription creams prescribed by a doctor?

I have dry penis forehead & foreskin from last 3-4 years or more & skin become cracked because of dryness, i used vaseline.. then i used coconut oil. I feel burning & little pain on penis from last 3-4 years while having dryness.
Now before 4-5 months i had unprotected sex with my gf & my penis become red, itchy, sore,burning & smigma..
ketoconazole, fluconazole, itraconazole, terbinafine ( I have tried these 4 drugs in oral and topical form) I have also tried selsun shampoo and all of these have failed. I was wondering if there was anymore hope for me? Is there anymore antifungal pill I can take? Due to my rash not responding well to 3 azole antifungals does this mean it won't respond to any of the other azole antifungals? And are there anyother antifungal that are effective that arnt azole?

If I use anti fungal powders, the itching decreases. I have visited doctors multiple times, but the medicines- FLuconazole and Miconazole based creams and tablets have not given me any relief. I tried Betnovet-M, but it gives relief for a very short period. Clotrimazole based powders relive the itching but not the clotrimazole based creams. I have tried not using soaps, but it did not help.

I am 25 years old male & facing huge problem on penis & scrotums. I am facing red, itchy, sore, swollen penis & pimples on groin area & 1-2 pimples on penis shaft ( i already used canesten, ketocozanole, fluconazole, but symptoms come back again and again). & hairs under my penis and scrotums become Yellow & rough and too much itching there & itching on full body.
It sounds like a yeast or a dermatophyte fungus. Or it could be lice? Do you see anything like that? The nits are about 1 mm in size and are usually attached to the pubic hair. If you have this you would have to get a treatment for them.
Fungi like to grow in moist areas. Have you tried the fungal creams? Most of them are made with fluconazole. If that didn't work you should get tested. If these didn't work some yeast are resistant to it. You can try Terbinafine (Lamisil) cream.
