Terbinafine for thrush

Common Questions and Answers about Terbinafine for thrush

He prescribed <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>terbinafine</span> for 30 days. Fluconazole did help it just didnt get rid of it completely. I will go to another Doctor to get a second opinion on the matter. Is it normal to have oral thrush for this long? Right now I am pretty worried about HIV. As I have read several articles that state that thrush is more common with people with diabetes, Cancer or HIV among others.
So, do you still have the <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>thrush</span> in the mouth? If so you may try oral <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>terbinafine</span>. But it may just be that you have been on antibiotics for so long that it has disrupted your normal gut flora and it might be better to take probiotics if you are not on them. I would get the type that has 10 billion bacteria of each type such as lactobacillus and bifidobacteria and others and see if that helps. It may take a while for the normal flora to change back.

It all began in janruary, I've been with my girlfriend now for 5 years both of us with clear sexual history. In janruary my girlfriend had thrush, she got it treated and we had unprotected sex like we always do. During intercourse I had intense burning sensation on my penis, I had to stop. Since then I've tried thrush creams, steriod creams, changed my washing powder, cut out soaps, and seen my GP and sexual health docs which all have been negative.

So I tried lotirmin ultra with 1% butenafine hydrochloride for a week and a half but I didn't notice any change. So now I have limasil with 1% <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>terbinafine</span>. My questions are is this the right cream for treating a penis ringworm and how long will it take until the ringworm is completely gone? Thank you for your help.

Thank you very much for your reply. I am currently using Dettol Soap for cleaning the area. And I am cleaning it 3-4 times a day. Since I live in Dubai is there any medication which you can suggest or the contents of the medication.
I have had red itchy blotches on the head of my penis for approximately 3 years, there is also redness and itching under the foreskin. I have been to my gp many times. initially the advice was to wash it regularly not using soap. This had no effect. Then i was given a thrush cream which did nothing. After that I was prescribed a different thrush cream with a steroid in it......this did nothing. following this 2 different types of Daktacort cream one with a steroid and one without......
Was perscribed a Canesten Due tablet and <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>thrush</span> cream. This did not help.I was aslo tested for diabetes, this was negative. The next visit I was perscribed Hydrocortisone.Like the rest of the creams,it made the condition worse. This visit I was given antibiotics, this cleared up the urine infection. A week after this I saw a health advisor at my local sexual health clinic(GUM).They did the usual tests for all sexual related diseases. The results were all negative.
She suggested OTC anti-fungal cream for a week. I'm 3 days into twice daily applications of Lamisil (<span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>terbinafine</span> hydrochloride) after washing. I've definitely noticed some relief, and I know I have to give it at least a few more days - but it's driving me nutty (pardon the bad pun). The onset of the condition just seems too proximate to the initial encounter. I'm having a hard time accepting the coincidence.
Settles down with lotions and potions and flares up again. I've had it for years now. Had 2 lots of oral <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>thrush</span> medication after my antibiotics, and am drinking yogurt and taking the lacto(etc) capsules. The hot weather definitely makes it worse with the sweating.
burning and itching at stool. 4. Numbness in arms and legs. For eg. When sitting or standing in one position for 1-2 minutes. 5. Body ache, fatigue, weakness, malaise, feverish feeling, back pain, chest pain. 6. Allergic Rhinitis, Viral URTI, fat deposition on stomach.
I also wake with watery eyes, sinus congestion, white stuff on corners of mouth every day since exposure. I have taken multiple STD panels for every STD HIV, syphilis, goon, chylmedia, hep, and herpes at 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 3 months all neg. I even followed up with an HIV and syphilis at 4.5 months and was neg. I did receive treatment for the possible bacterial infections STD given z pack, doxy, ofoflax, uribel and something for trich. My neuro said it's probably a unknown virus.
Thank you again for your response mkh9. Actually, this is strange. Rubbing Tolnaftate cream on the sole of the foot does help it to start hurting. But I do need to apply it around the anal area as well. If I don't, there is an internal warmth building up in my left leg. Once I do, it is gone. So I believe the fungus or whatever is growing in two areas. I completely agree with you about keeping the foot clean.
H-E-L-P!!! I've had this uncontrollable itch on my outer labia's for the past 7 years. Everyday I itch, I feel like a freak because I am always scratching (not in public). My labia gets sore from the scratching and I break skin often from scratching. I have tried everthing, but it doesn't go away. I know it's not an STD because I went to the doctor's and have been tested. However they haven't helped me none.
He scraped out my ear, swabed it with violet stuff (similar to what they do for babies with <span style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>thrush</span>) and gave me a prescription for drops that he said was the only thing that will kill fungus all of the others only keep it from multiplying. I'll get back to you on what the prescription was. I no longer have the itch, crust, etc. now I just have to deal with the perforated ear drum and eustation tube problems.
I had put up with the problem for 11 months, gradually becoming worse. And now after 2 months of it having gone away, it has returned again. This time it happened much quicker, starting on the right lower eye, then moved to the left. The right under eye is very red, sore and dry. It feels so rough to touch. I have not worn make up today and have only applied vaseline and aqeous cream. I haven't changed any toileteries or make up in the last 2 months. I am not sure what it could be?
but today as i was going through some website i read and article that said to mix 1/2 cup of vinegar with 1/3 water and rub it on the scalp and leave it for 5 minutes then shampoo and rinse.. so i gave it a try.i had no choice..and for my surprise it WORKED!!!! i dont know if it works with everyone..but why not try it and figure out.. Goodluck!!
I found a person on the MSN body odor support forum who had a bad odor for a long time and then the odor went away after being treated for H. Pylori, but then the coughing and sneezing started after that. Interesting. Another person on the MSN board said he was also treated for H. Pylori and then the coughing/sneezing started! Question: Do any of you burp a lot? Here is a thread that should be read: http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=561071#i Read the replies to that link also.
