Avatar_m_tn I seemed to have had a diet full of yeast back in December (way too much bread and toasts, and my frozen food all seemed to have had yeast in ingredients), so perhaps this attributed to my susceptibility? I've tried topical antifungals and it seemed to move the line on the balls somewhat further from the main body, and then antifungals with steroids, but the irritation is still there, and I'm not sure what to do.
Avatar_m_tn miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Also keep the area dry as fungi thrive in humid skin and hence try to keep the skin as dry as possible. Wear cotton undergarments and change them twice daily. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar_m_tn Hello, From the symptoms it looks like oral thrush and yeast infection of the groin causing fungal infection/ jock itch. Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) on the groin and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment. If the symptoms persist then oral antifungals may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.

Avatar_f_tn Recently did a yeast culture test and stool test and susceptibility test but waiting for results and pretty sure it could be C.Glabrata since it is resistant to the Azoles. Are Echinocandins used for to cure rectal yeast as well ans what is the rate of success? Also ordered Boric acid suppositories to treat vaginal yeast infection, is it safe to use it rectally as well? This is getting very very frustrating.
Avatar_m_tn miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Avatar_m_tn Indeed, now I have gone beyond worrying whether I have HIV or not. And please take a look at my infections and their severity. TB, Invasive yeast for 16 months, recurrent diarrhea, weakness, body ache and what not. I think you have not gone through my post thoroughly. If you ask me, honestly, I am damn angry and actually pissed of at our doctors, experts and medical community in general.
Avatar_m_tn Now, after a day or so, I got small itchy sores on the very end of my foreskin (I'm uncircumcised), I didn't think much about them and kept applying clotrimazole and miconazole creams and itch relieving powders on my lesions. Then my ringworms grew outta control so I went to a doctor to get checked out. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics, an anti bacterial cream and sedatives to help me sleep. I started taking everything except the sedative.

Avatar_n_tn I told the GP about the symptoms I'd had over the past week and he subscribed Lamisil Cream with 1% terbinafine HCl. Saying that it sounded like a yeast infection. Upon examining myself and doing some research online, it appears as though I have some Fordyce spots on under my foreskin in various patches (white, small raised bumps, that are not painful/itchy).
Avatar_f_tn Hello, Fungal infections like athlete’s foot are usually wet looking and are itchy. Keep the area dry and keep a separate towel for your daughter. Most forms of fungal infections respond to over-the-counter products, which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients.
Avatar_n_tn By the way a dermatophyte is a type of fungus and as I mentioned causes skin, nail and hair infections like joch itch and athletes foot. One other thought is that if you are using an over the counter medication or even a prescription one yeast are becoming resistant to the ones that end in azole. Such as fluconazole. Usually you can see the chemical name in the ingredients. So you can use terbinafine (Lamisil) if changing out some of the habits above don't work.

Avatar_n_tn As a result, you have noticed what are mild symptoms. Occasionally, uncircumcised men can acquire fungal (yeast) infections from partners but this is quite uncommon and when it does, it still does not "count" as an STD. I have little to add to the nurse paractioner's assessment.
1712311_tn?1308400837 Tinea versicolor can have redness in and around the lesions, but more often it is either darker than skin color or lighter than skin color patches with fine, powdery scaling. Also, terbinafine treats fungal but not yeast infections so one would not expect a yeast infection to get better from it. Strangely enough, by the way, topical terbinafine can sometimes be helpful in tinea versicolor but is not an ideal treatment for it.
Avatar_n_tn What is most effective in stopping recurring yeast infections ? If I daily apply baby powder in groin area, can the powder come out of my pants and be visible to people ? This can be very embarassing if its visible outside. Any experiences with applying powder daily ??
Avatar_m_tn Within 10 days of using both the Viaderm cream on only gential area and taking Terbinafine tablets, all symptoms were gone. Three days later, I simply masturbated. A new type of infection appeared within hours. It was a red and extremely itchy rash on my penis head and foreskin. I decided to use Viaderm and within 4 days the problem was gone. Believing all infections were gone from my body, I made the mistake of masturbating again. This time, a different infection appeared within a few minutes.

Avatar_n_tn If however the symptoms persist then pls consult a dermatologist and get other possibilities like contact dermatitis, yeast infections, impetigo and psoriasis ruled out. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional doubts.
Avatar_m_tn Yeast prefers to live in warm, moist, and dark areas of the body. Yeast infections will cause itching, foul smell due to gasses given off by the yeast as it metabolizes sugar. Application of local antifungal cream (terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day. It may take few days for the symptoms to resolve. In severe cases oral medication may be needed.

Avatar_m_tn Now they are covering his whole upper body, back, stomach and arms, and some of them look red and are getting slightly raised. He is always itchy and nothing seems to help. He refuses to go to a doctor so I thought I would see if I could get an answer.
