Temodar survival

Common Questions and Answers about Temodar survival

temodar

Avatar f tn We know the tumor is in a slightly different area than it was originally. He is in treatment (Temodar for the second time) for the third recurrence of his tumor. We have always been told it is in an area where surgery has not been an option. The oncologist does say he believes it is a higher grade. We think he believes it is glioblastoma but he won't say that definitely without doing another biopsy.
1515784 tn?1387197290 She had a surgical resection near the end of November and is currently in her third week of Proton Therapy and chemo with Temodar. Her tumor was in the right temporal lobe and the remaining tumor they couldn't remove (about 10 percent they said) is on her right insula. Hoping to chat with other people in the same boat as her. What if any side effects did you incur on Proton therapy? Did everyone who had proton therapy to their brain have to be on a steroid? Did anyone NOT lose hair.
1524669 tn?1291423170 HI, I AM WITH OLIGODENDROGLIOMA,, NOW ON CHEMOTHERAPY-TEMODAR 350MG.
Avatar f tn A month ago my husband (41) had a tumor resection of a GBM in the left temporal/frontal lobe. He is still recovering from surgery and has begun cancer treatment (temodar& radiation) a week ago. He has a previous accident injury where he has struggled with neck pain for ten years. He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. He is currently taking his suboxone but is not getting any relief for his head pain.
Avatar f tn Patient made decision to treat his anaplastic astrocytoma with surgery and Temodar only. No radiation! What is the prognosis for this 33 yr.old male.
Avatar n tn Since the diagnosis of Glioblastoma grade 4 in August, my husband has had the tumor removed and completed the round of radiation and chemotherapy - temodar. Recently I have noticed him being very short fused and argumentative. The slightest thing sets him off as if he had been personally attack. I have also noticed depression setting in. I'm assuming this is all part of the treatment and diagnosis.
Avatar m tn Instead of focusing on the survival stats, focus on fighting this disease. As Jan said, if you only worry about the "WHAT IF" you will drive yourself nuts. Ther is always a "what if" so make your self think "what if" I am one of the ones who can beat this.
Avatar m tn The 1 year survival rate for patients who have a liver transplant is 85% in the US (University of Southern California’s Center for Pancreatic and Biliary Diseases) The 5 year survival rate for patients who have a liver transplant is 70% in the US (University of Southern California’s Center for Pancreatic and Biliary Diseases) 81.
808425 tn?1371092328 Ok, so follicular thyroid cancer has a 95% 10 year survival rate, what happens after that? I'm halfway to 10 years. I don't know if any studies go beyond that. I worry a lot. That seems to be my main purpose in life. If there is anyone out there who has dealt with this particular type and has made it over, well how about 50 years? Is that stretching it a bit too far? I'm 41 and my family has a fabulous record of long life.
Avatar f tn This is a question that is almost impossible to answer. There are statistics that deal with generalities but none of them actually deal with any one specific case. I have never relied on published percentages as I feel there are too many variables in each person's cancer as well as the response to the therapy. You might search for Statistics of Survival Rates on the Internet but I wouldn't ever depend on them for myself.
Avatar f tn I under went double mast on Jan 09 - diagnosed with Triple Negative Grade 3, stage 3, 31 out 31 + with extensive LVI with broadly positive margins as well as intralymphatic tumor. Multifocal extracapsular extension. Can't seem to get a real survival or recurrence rate, only telling me it is not good. Under went chemo and rads just finished Sept 09. Not scheduled for scans yet. What do you think?
Avatar f tn First time using this, am not sure I am in the right place but, I will ask any way. 45 white female with Triple negative IDC stage 3 grade 3, 31 + nodes LVI marked extensive, broadly + margins, intralymphatic tumor .1cm from margins. multifocal extracapsular extension. Just finished chemo and rads...waiting for scheduled scans. Can't seem to get a straight survival or recurrence rate from docs, just said I got it bad and will try to kill it...
Avatar m tn There are studies that consider 5-yr-survival rates, 10-year survival rates, disease-free survival rates , and survival only rates (which may include dealing with a recurrence). The time-frames and outcome criteria are usually selected based on what will make a feasible research study.
Avatar m tn It sounds that there is no chance of survival of sperm in enough number. Secondly sperm require vehicle to swim towards the female genital. If we see the mechanism of conception, conception seems to be impossible. So you need not worry about pregnancy of your sexual partner.
