Dextrose and microcrystalline cellulose are inactive ingredients used in Armour Thyroid tablets. According to Pharmaceutical Formulation Databases and Resources, these act as fillers and compression aids to improve the overall characteristics of the tablet powder.
Avatar f tn It appears you are referring to an immediate-release tablet formulation of acetazolamide 250mg. it is safe to split the immediate-release tablets. Extended-release capsules should not be broken.
Avatar m tn Tenofovir alafenamide (TAF), a new formulation that reaches higher levels in cells but allows for lower dosing, was as effective as the current tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) formulation but had less impact on markers of kidney function and bone turnover, researchers reported at the 53rd Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC 2013) this week in Denver.
Avatar n tn If the tablets are consistently not breaking down in your GI tract, then you might want to discuss other medication options with your gastroenterologist. Salofalk is one of them, another is Colazal. There is also a new time-release, once per day formulation of mesalamine on the market called Lialda. The matrix of that formulation may be better tolerated in your GI tract. Bottom line is that you have options. I wish you well, IBD is a total drag.
Avatar n tn ALSO, my doctor prescribed 50 mg to be cut in half for my prescribed 25 mg dose. Does cutting this tablet in half compromise the time release?

Avatar m tn I am 33 year male having hypertension from 3 years taking telmisartan 40 mg from last two years. Now my bp is under control comes under 130/85. I had urine albumin excretion test three times result shows between 100 to 75 mg/dl albumin excretion ( 24 hour urine albumin test on submission of around 1.5 liter urine). The normal values shows in lab report is up to excretion of 150 mg/dl/ .My serum creatinine level comes between 0.8 to 1.0 and urea under 20.
Avatar n tn Your creatinine is still high because you likely have chronic kidney disease from the hypertension. The Telmisartan-HCTZ that was given will not make your creatinine low, it is to treat your hypertension and prevent further damage to your kidneys. It is also possible you have some protein in your urine which the Telmisartan helps to reduce. Also, Telmisartan can cause a slight increase in your creatinine but it is usually not a very significant increase.
Avatar f tn in the 90s various antidepressants were added to it from april 2010, i took quarter tablet of fluoxetine/olanzipine combine for sometime and stopped but continued with lorazepam 1mg to 2mg till april 28th, when i started to take three fourth of lorazepam till today. meanwhile i had a fight with mother and felt tightness in the chest so when to a doc and he said my blood pressure is high and put me telmisartan 40mg so i am wondering whether my bp high could have a withdrawal symptom.
Avatar n tn I have heard a lot of people complain about the new formulation of Oxycontin .It is called OP I think .Purdue made this new formulation to stop people from abusing it but I have heard a lot of CP patients complain that it doesn't work as good as the old formulation .There is a substance that turns to a gel to keep people from snorting it or shooting it up and that may be what is causing it to not dissolve correctly .That's my best guess about it though .I would talk to my Dr about this .

Avatar f tn m taking regularly is Telmisartan amlodipine besilate 40/5 for my hypertension, one tablet a day, which i take afterr breakfast. I also take Centrum Silver, one tablet a day, after breakfast or after lunch. I don't have anxiety, hand tremors, or eye problems. I don't have insomnia either. My T3 and T4 values are very close to the highest normal value. Do you suggest I consult a doctor? What kind of doctor would you suggest I see? Thank you.
Avatar f tn thanks guys....i've heard of both of those products....but i learned from doing research that sometimes, if a tablet/capsule formula doesn't necessarily work for you, that something as simple as switching to the LIQUID formulation of the exact same product is the perfect solution and works like a charm....and helps whereas the other formulation maybe didn't....that's why i was asking FLADDICT about that liquid formulation from GNC....
12678791 tn?1426639753 I’am currently using Althea pills and yesterday was supposed to be the start of my 7th day free tablet (Monday) I bought a new pack but due to confusion I drank the tablet dated (Tuesday). So basically I took the tablet that is supposed to be my first one for the new pack.
Avatar m tn I have come in contact with Percocet, which contains 2.5MG of Oxy, but then I also see an 80mg Oxy tablet on the market. Is the 80mg a time released version? Can you cut the pill four ways to instead have 4 20mg doses? Can anyone send me to a decent place to learn about Oxy doses?
897400 tn?1303329148 Ginsa, I am so glad that you posted this. How is LDN admisistered? Will it be tablet that is diluted? or shot form. I have been trying to find someone who has tried this. Is it suposed to be for Depresssion or for Withdrawl symptoms? Best wishes for the treatment!
Avatar m tn My BP stays around 170/100. Highest was recorded 176/110. I have been on Telmisartan 40mg for few weeks but it killed my sex drive entirely. I stopped taking it & gradually recovered from low libido. Also i've noticed a general decline in libido & an onset of ED after i crossed age 40. Now my libido is not that strong as it used to be 4 years back even without medicine.
Avatar f tn Well maybe they will pull the formulas for vicodin and percocet how they are now (with 500mgs of APAP in each tablet) but I bet they will come out with a formula with less APAP in them. Vicodin is the #1 most precribed med in America (not just pain med, but ALL meds prescribed) so its doubtful that they will just pull it outright. At least I hope they don't.
Avatar f tn I have type 2 Diabetes. In the beginning all I took was one tablet of Metformin per day. 10 years later,I am now taking 6 medicines. Metformin, Telmisartan, Meloxicam, Levothyroxine, Hydrochlorothiazine and Atorvastatin. I have recently been looking online at some of the drug interaction checkers, and what i find is alarming. So many of these drugs, seem to not be so compatible with one another, and most lead to kidney trouble. I have not want to be on dialysis.
Avatar n tn Tirosint is the first and only T4 in liquid gel cap form. This pure formulation consists only of T4, glycerin, gelatin, and water. Unlike some tablet formulations, Tirosint is free of dyes, gluten, lactose, sugar, and alcohol.
Avatar f tn In conclusion, although the bioavailability of LT4 is lower after administration of the suppository than after the oral formulation, it was suggested that T4 levels can be maintained in patients with hypothyroidism by administering LT4 suppositories at a dose 1.8 times higher than that of the tablet. Thus, the administration of LT4 suppository can be an alternative for treatment with oral medication in clinical practice.
Avatar n tn Hi I noticed a lot of comments on the "New" formulation of the Armour Thyroid tablets. I never got pills from my pharmacy with the "A" I swear all of mine were blank with no logo. I noticed this last batch has the "A" logo, is whiter and does not split in half well at all. Were there Armour tablets with no logo before? I am so confused and upset by this whole problem with this medication. I feel like buying a pig farm and learning how to make the stuff myself.
Avatar m tn Also, she is patient of high blood pressure. She is on bloog sugar medications like Metformin, Glimipride and Telmisartan, Amlodipine tablets for high bp Daily. Now, she has many complications of Diabetes including Diabetes Neuropathy, eyes issues like cataracts, osteoarthritis etc. she also has complications in her back/spine. Now, her doctor has not recommend any special multivitamin apart from diabetic die,t.
Avatar m tn If you look at the package insert that came with the pills, it looks like they just revised it in September 2015. It doesn't specify that the tablet size changed, not that I could find, but I'm pretty sure that since the numbers are all the same (specifically the 35/250) then it's the same thing so you shouldn't have any worries. You can always call the pharmacy where you got them and ask the pharmacist because they can look it up and tell you that it's the same.
336017 tn?1263579257 the best ARB to take is probably telmisartan because of its high tissue penetration. The best ACE inhibitor to take is perindopril. Some other ARBs and ACE inhibitors may work less effectively or not at all (some ARBs I know to be good - besides telmisartan - are valsartan, irbesartan, candesartan. Most of them are good EXCEPT for losartan, which is a surmountable antagonist and, theoretically, would lose its effect over time). Next fact: you need to take a high dose.
Avatar n tn I dont have much faith in this new formulation stopping addicts abusing their meds. All this new formulation does is prevent illicit routes of administration such as insuffulation or injection but does nothing to deter people from swallowing handfuls of said pills. This kind of arms race has done little in the past except to encourage resourceful addicts to develop their own methods to counter those of the Pharmaceutical Companies.
