I stopped taking it & gradually recovered from low libido. Also i've noticed a general decline in libido & an onset of ED after i crossed age 40. Now my libido is not that strong as it used to be 4 years back even without medicine.

Avatar m tn IS THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS TAKING COMBINATION OF TELMISARTAN &AMLODIPINE FOR LONG TIME
Avatar n tn Your creatinine is still high because you likely have chronic kidney disease from the hypertension. The Telmisartan-HCTZ that was given will not make your creatinine low, it is to treat your hypertension and prevent further damage to your kidneys. It is also possible you have some protein in your urine which the Telmisartan helps to reduce. Also, Telmisartan can cause a slight increase in your creatinine but it is usually not a very significant increase.
336017 tn?1263579257 the best ARB to take is probably telmisartan because of its high tissue penetration. The best ACE inhibitor to take is perindopril. Some other ARBs and ACE inhibitors may work less effectively or not at all (some ARBs I know to be good - besides telmisartan - are valsartan, irbesartan, candesartan. Most of them are good EXCEPT for losartan, which is a surmountable antagonist and, theoretically, would lose its effect over time). Next fact: you need to take a high dose.
433485 tn?1321813390 I would always listen to your doctor. If you don't feel comfortable ramping up the Lexapro, perhaps you could talk about a change in meds or the addition of another med. You have to let your doctor know how you feel.
Avatar n tn Good for you for quitting smoking, coffee, and high salt intake--and for losing weight. Are you physically active on a regular basis (like walking 30-45 minutes 5 or 6 times a week)? Exercise may help to bring your blood pressure down. Also, do you drink milk or eat yogurt every day? Because they have calcium in them, these foods can help control blood pressure, too. (Nonfat types are best, and look for yogurt that has Vitamin D listed on the label.) What about alcohol use?
Avatar f tn i have consulted a doc who just said to stop taking it (but i intend to taper it off) he has put on bp meds (telmisartan tab. 40 mg)since he said it is high (146/96).
Avatar n tn My doctor put me on a medicine called Micardis HCT which is a combination medication with the common diuretic hydrochlorothiazide and the drug telmisartan. This is the first time I have been on blood pressure medicine, and the drug has worked very well in terms of my blood pressure itself. I take my pressure at home with an electric blood pressure monitor and I now average about 130 over 72 to 75.
Avatar f tn meanwhile i had a fight with mother and felt tightness in the chest so when to a doc and he said my blood pressure is high and put me telmisartan 40mg so i am wondering whether my bp high could have a withdrawal symptom. does that need be corrected by bp meds.

Avatar m tn My son has an enlarged Aortic Root 3,84 and Z score of 3.6 and is 14 years old and is 5 ' 8" tall and weighs 136 pounds (it was 3.5 cm 8 months ago and Z score was 2.6). He is a nationally ranked runner and they have told him that he can no longer run. My understanding is that the numbers at the 5 cm is the number that they start to recommend surgery.
Avatar f tn It really depends on the brand... There's 5mg/ml and 10mg/ml. There's also a 1mg/ml that's not generally used in clinics... 150ml would equal 5 ounces of liquid. Does that seem like what you take? If you're taking the tablets, you're taking mgs. Always. The orange, chewable tablets are 40 mg each.
