Avatar m tn I am 33 year male having hypertension from 3 years taking telmisartan 40 mg from last two years. Now my bp is under control comes under 130/85. I had urine albumin excretion test three times result shows between 100 to 75 mg/dl albumin excretion ( 24 hour urine albumin test on submission of around 1.5 liter urine). The normal values shows in lab report is up to excretion of 150 mg/dl/ .My serum creatinine level comes between 0.8 to 1.0 and urea under 20.
Avatar n tn Your creatinine is still high because you likely have chronic kidney disease from the hypertension. The Telmisartan-HCTZ that was given will not make your creatinine low, it is to treat your hypertension and prevent further damage to your kidneys. It is also possible you have some protein in your urine which the Telmisartan helps to reduce. Also, Telmisartan can cause a slight increase in your creatinine but it is usually not a very significant increase.

Avatar n tn I wish I had good news about you donating your Aunt one of your lungs. My Mother received a single lung transplant in 2007. A lung cannot be taken from a live donor though. The lung has to be harvested from a very recently deceased donor. And I so hate telling you this, but getting approved for a lung transplant is lengthy and much is involved. They put my Mother through many many tests. She had a lung disease called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Which is a terminal lung disease.
Avatar m tn In the early 20th century, lung cancer was much less common than some other types of cancer. But this changed once manufactured cigarettes became readily available and more people began smoking. About 87% of lung cancer deaths are thought to result from smoking. The risk for lung cancer among smokers is many times higher than among non-smokers. The longer you smoke and the more packs a day you smoke, the greater your risk.

Avatar n tn If the paralysis is on the left, the infiltrative lesion described on the left measuring 11-12 mm may have something to do with it, but it seems too small to be causing compression. Generally lung cancer with vocal paralysis are pretty large, a good number would have compression of the trachea/windpipe. The distribution of the lymph nodes also makes Lung cancer as a primary disease a bit unlikely, if we are to think about Cancer, perhaps lymphoma may be more suspect.
Avatar n tn And i also went to lung specialist and told and he saw the report which was given by doctor and said ok and also took lung capacity test, But the lung capacity test was not normal according to the nurse there, but doctor said its not abnormal and no need to worry. I am still afraid. Any suggestions please?
4461995 tn?1357955108 I just found out this morning that a dear friend was just diagnosed with Lung Cancer that has metastasized to her brain. She just found out and it is Stage 4. She has started radiation but doesn't know about chemo yet. Does anyone have any words of advice for me as to the best way to be supportive? I live in NJ, she is in CA and I am going to go out there to stay with her for a while soon. She is single.
Avatar n tn He said that and I about fell off the chair. Could the pain be related to lung cancer? Breathing never laboured, no coughing up blood. Though I am tired all the time and have gained a little weight over the past year...
Avatar f tn Hi, For lung cancer, any surveillance is used to capture early invasive cancer, so the short answer to your question would be yes. Other cancers such as breast and cervix, have known intermediate tumors with malignant potential, and hence, for such cancers, there are more options depending on what are the odds of subsequent invasive cancer.
Avatar n tn Hello my mother has been diagnosed with lung cancer that they feel has metatasized to the brain. She had two small lesion behind each ear located on the somewhat outer region. The doctor recommends surgery although risky it is not so bad due to the outer location. He also says that brain tumors dont respond well to medication and radiation may shrink or remove tumor they most likely will come back. Please anyone with knowledge on this topic will be helpful.

Avatar n tn Increased density in a chest xray usually presents with white, or increased whiteness of the lung fields. This may suggest lung disease, not necessarily cancer and may need to be evaluated further. Ideally, x-ray results are compared from any previous chest x-rays to help monitor any changes in the lung. A repeat x-ray after a few weeks will help determine any changes. Hope this helps. Take care and hope all is well. Do keep us posted and best regards.
Avatar m tn On June 5 I had X-rays and blood work done due to my back to back colds and flu for the last three months.  I have also had significant weight loss.  I had just chalked it all up to a low immune system caused by stress.  I was given a strong antibiotic and Ventolin (usually take Symbacort when I have a chest infection) and these seem to have helped clear up my diagnosis of pneumonia.
Avatar f tn My mom in law recently was diagnosed with lung cancer that had spread to her liver. she has recieved one cycle of chemo like 8 days ago. she is not eating hardly anything. we are giving her boosts, ensure things of that nature. this morning my husband noticed she had brown stuff coming from her nose and mouth. an ambulance was called and they rushed her to the hospital. she talks gibberish the last couple of days. she was home.
Avatar m tn Doc, is this maybe a sign of going to lung cancer?
Avatar n tn Before, there was probably a goal of cure, this time, the treatment may be able to extend life, but would not be likely to free him of lung cancer. This means that controlling the disease is temporary - though there is a wide variability as to how long this actual time period is. A second opinion is a good idea, but make sure that all the details are made available to the next doctor. Stay positive.
