Avatar m tn I am 33 year male having hypertension from 3 years taking telmisartan 40 mg from last two years. Now my bp is under control comes under 130/85. I had urine albumin excretion test three times result shows between 100 to 75 mg/dl albumin excretion ( 24 hour urine albumin test on submission of around 1.5 liter urine). The normal values shows in lab report is up to excretion of 150 mg/dl/ .My serum creatinine level comes between 0.8 to 1.0 and urea under 20.
Avatar n tn Your creatinine is still high because you likely have chronic kidney disease from the hypertension. The Telmisartan-HCTZ that was given will not make your creatinine low, it is to treat your hypertension and prevent further damage to your kidneys. It is also possible you have some protein in your urine which the Telmisartan helps to reduce. Also, Telmisartan can cause a slight increase in your creatinine but it is usually not a very significant increase.

Avatar m tn What kind of lancet needles is having a safety feautures that will retract the needle that impossible to re used again. If it is not a pen typw lancet needle is it possible to re use a lancet?? Is it possible to get infected by hiv virus by reused lancwt.. Thanks...
Avatar f tn Hi I was encouraged to get tested after 7 months from date of exposure (rubbing) and went to the testing center after the health nurse tested me for hiv , hvc and syphilis and after prick me in my finger with a lancet but it wasn't a lancet like i see in self tests it looks like a traditional lancet like the diabetes lancet I'm afraid the needle contaminates the hiv or hbv, hvc that he injected me is used and that the nurse forgot to change the lancet a reused lancet knowing that all m
Avatar n tn the story is: I used a new lancet to finger *****, the i put the lancet in to a box, today, i was accidently pricked by this lancet, I want to know is there any possible to have something with HIV? hope you all could help me . I am so afraid of finger *****!!!!! i have been told that there is no risk for finger ***** whatever the lancet is. Is this true?
Avatar m tn The needle he used inside the lancet was new but the actual lancet device was re-used since it was a multi use lancet. Since i am not familiar with exactly how these devices work. My question is can the device have blood left on inside which can touch the new needle which i was poked with? Much appreciate your response.
Avatar m tn I asked the instructor how to use it and he pulled it out and stuck his index finger with the lancet. After using the lance he popped off the lancet and put a new one in, but when taking the cap off the new lancet he still had a little blood on his index finger. He used his thumb and middle finger to take the cap off the new lancet but his index finger was still bleeding from being stuck.
Avatar m tn s house, he is a hiv posititve. And we share the same lancet device 20 mins apart. I used the lancet made a really big cut on the tip of my finger and there is really a lot of blood came out the wood.
Avatar m tn Lancet he is talking about from what I gather is a scaple.
Avatar n tn There’s a two nurse who’s taking all the testing…One nurse will remove the lancet and put one new lancet and one nurse again will ***** the skin of the patient…this there procedure…almost one hundred participants in there medical procedure. As in my case I forgot to look if the nurse change the lancet but the male nurse assure me that the lancet he used to me is new.. If the lancet is not new and reused to me theres a possibilities of hepatitis A,B, C?
Avatar m tn hello, some weeks ago one of my classmates wanted to test for hiv by a rapid test we sell. i wanted to help her. i pricked her finger by a lancet and she tested negative. after that i forgot to dispose the used lancet. and i was describing the test procedure to her while i was playing with the lancet (in my hand) without me noticing that it was used by another person. suddenly i found out that my finger was touching the lancet needle and i immediately threw out the lancet!
Avatar f tn I brought my newborn to a clinic to checking his jaundice index.the nurses used a lancet device to prick my baby's heel then used a capillary to collect a small sample of his blood.i realized that the lancet device is old and dirty, obviously they did not change a new one.if they reused the lancet,if the lancet was used by a person who have HIV,is that any risk for my baby to be infected?l'm a worrying mom and thank u for your answer.Sorry for my poor English.
Avatar m tn She seemed to be struggling to get the device to work, as it looked like the lancet was jammed in there, so she (presumably) used another lancet and manually pricked my finger. The test was negative. The reason I am worried, is that there was a couple that tested before me, and I am scared that the same lancet was used on all of us. Our testing could not have been more than 5 - 10 minutes apart.
Avatar m tn My BP stays around 170/100. Highest was recorded 176/110. I have been on Telmisartan 40mg for few weeks but it killed my sex drive entirely. I stopped taking it & gradually recovered from low libido. Also i've noticed a general decline in libido & an onset of ED after i crossed age 40. Now my libido is not that strong as it used to be 4 years back even without medicine.
Avatar m tn Hi, I recently became worried because I was thinking about my previous HIV test (which was negative after 3 months), I remember that the nurse did not change the needle in the finger ***** device (a lancet, maybe), because I saw her taking the lancet out (looks like a big pen), and did not change anything, while in my other HIV tests, I saw very clearly that those nurses have all changed the lancet (big pen)'s needle.
Avatar m tn I should add that as i remember, i used alcohol on lancet tip before use. and also the lancet cap was firmly attached to it before i broke it for use. but i am not sure it was the used one or not.
Avatar f tn I doesn't matter how much blood was on the lancet or how much time had passed. A lancet is never a risk for HIV transmission.
Avatar f tn I do know that the lancet pen can be set on different settings. Check the lancet discharge setting so that it is not too high. It appears that the lancet penetrated too deeply. Best wishes.
