Avatar m tn Your blood pressure, urea and creatinine levels are within the normal range. Also, you are on telmisartan, belongs to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors which may decrease the rate of decline in kidney function. However, levels of microalbuminuria above 30 are indicative of early kidney disease. Am not clear about the normal ranges specified by your lab. So, please discuss the possibilities with your doctor. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Approximately 95% of individuals are able to lower their blood pressure at least moderately by making certain lifestyle changes, and often dramatically with drug therapy. If treatment is successful, the individual may be able to lower the drug dosage to maintain a healthy blood pressure. Hopefully you are in the 95% group.

Avatar m tn Hi Everyone, I'm 41 male with history of hypertension. My BP stays around 170/100. Highest was recorded 176/110. I have been on Telmisartan 40mg for few weeks but it killed my sex drive entirely. I stopped taking it & gradually recovered from low libido. Also i've noticed a general decline in libido & an onset of ED after i crossed age 40. Now my libido is not that strong as it used to be 4 years back even without medicine.
Avatar m tn IS THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS TAKING COMBINATION OF TELMISARTAN &AMLODIPINE FOR LONG TIME
336017 tn?1263579257 the best ARB to take is probably telmisartan because of its high tissue penetration. The best ACE inhibitor to take is perindopril. Some other ARBs and ACE inhibitors may work less effectively or not at all (some ARBs I know to be good - besides telmisartan - are valsartan, irbesartan, candesartan. Most of them are good EXCEPT for losartan, which is a surmountable antagonist and, theoretically, would lose its effect over time). Next fact: you need to take a high dose.
Avatar n tn My doctor put me on a medicine called Micardis HCT which is a combination medication with the common diuretic hydrochlorothiazide and the drug telmisartan. This is the first time I have been on blood pressure medicine, and the drug has worked very well in terms of my blood pressure itself. I take my pressure at home with an electric blood pressure monitor and I now average about 130 over 72 to 75.
Avatar m tn After looking at the results he confirmed that I am hypertensive and have administered me with BP drug Telmisartan IP 40mg. After this I am continuously monitoring my BP for next two days after taking the drug everyday in the morning after break fast and the readings are 130/90 and 130/80.....I have following questions: 1. Am I required to continuously take the drug life long (prescription by doctor was for 30 days) 2.
Avatar n tn If your aorta is dilated and is continuing to dilate, or if you strongly suspect Marfan Syndrome, please do some Google research on a class of drugs called ARBs, such as losartan. These drugs have shown immense benefit to patients with aortic disease. The huge majority of patients thus far have shown healed aortas with drastically reduced incidences of dissection, decrease in aortic root size, stability in aortic root size, increased aortic flexibility, etc.

Avatar f tn Does anyone have any input on this drug with a teen? Or does anyone have a child in this type of situation? Any input would be comforting to me.
Avatar n tn All 3 meds mentioned are class C drugs, which means none have been tested on pregnant women, but have shown to cause defomities or problems in laboratory animals. I would strongly think twice about getting pregnant while being on all of these meds. Ask yourself if the benefits out weigh the risks.
Avatar n tn He is behind his peers. He is also the youngest in his class. Prior teachers have mentioned his short attention span. He has no behavior problems. I have spent 3 entire days researching so I am fully prepared for his doctor appointment next week. I want to rule out any other causes for his attention. If he is diagnosed with ADD, I want to try everything before drugs.
Avatar f tn What are the odds of those of us that are suffering from from tooth decay and paying outrageously for doctors appointments, prescriptions, and now dentists and dental bills, what do we need or have to do to begin a class action lawsuit? Four members of my family have been on subutex for about 6 years some for general pain and some for addiction and we all have the same issues with decaying teeth and such. Our doctor has no means of tapering us off but we all have started ourselves.
Avatar f tn With my first bb i never took a birthing class n i was gonna do it without the epadural too but the pain was so unbearable to where i had to get it!
Avatar f tn You take metoprolol, diltiazem, enalapril and telmisartan. The first two agents address primarily heart rate (HR) but are not great blood pressure (BP) drugs. Speaking of HR, what is the reason that you see an electrophysiologist? Atrial fibrillation? and are you feeling poorly when your heart rate is 40s?
408795 tn?1324935675 ), what typically happens is they get out on parole, fail the terms of parole (as drug tested during parole), serve out entire sentence, then go straight back to drug use. Unless prisioners are drug tested and can prove they are clean, I don't see the point in treatment, the odds of reinfection are just too high IMO.
Avatar n tn Personally, I take valsartan, but my friends have experienced similar success (or better) with candesartan, telmisartan, losartan (although this drug is surmountable and thus theoretically not the best one to take), irbesartan, and, for ACE inhibitors, perindopril.
Avatar m tn ve read a report that anitdepressant like SSRI class (similar to lexapro) caused aortic valve problems in newborns. Does anyone know whether antidepressant can cause/increase AO dilation (however mild it may be)? I'm thinking off coming off this drug in 2 months time 5) I'm really confused and worried as to what i should do 6) Also, what are the possible causes of AO dilation so that i can rule out this one by one and find out possible narrowed causes?
646318 tn?1261181494 There may be a valid reason for this class of drug during tx but the NP is likely unaware of the IR risk. I'd love to hear back from BB about the doctor's reason. Maybe it's a balancing act. (Please don't laugh.) I know beta-blockers are out of fashion, except under the table for performance anxiety, so thank you very much for sending me great information that confirms this. Still, it's important to say again that my mom took it successfully for at least thirty years.
424839 tn?1268186246 So when going up against some one with a drug habit you have to remember that it is a learned behavior to take the drug along with the intense desire to take the drug.
