Avatar m tn My BP stays around 170/100. Highest was recorded 176/110. I have been on Telmisartan 40mg for few weeks but it killed my sex drive entirely. I stopped taking it & gradually recovered from low libido. Also i've noticed a general decline in libido & an onset of ED after i crossed age 40. Now my libido is not that strong as it used to be 4 years back even without medicine.
Avatar f tn You take metoprolol, diltiazem, enalapril and telmisartan. The first two agents address primarily heart rate (HR) but are not great blood pressure (BP) drugs. Speaking of HR, what is the reason that you see an electrophysiologist? Atrial fibrillation? and are you feeling poorly when your heart rate is 40s?

Avatar m tn 5 mg and some Hydroclorithiazide 25 mg (maybe mispelled) tablets to take. Should I take two of the Levamlodipine tablets to make 5 mg? And I'm guessing the Hydoclorithiazide 25 mg would be good enough to replace the Triaqmterene 37.5 mg. I was also taking Omprezole tablets for my stomach but the friend in China said I wouldn't need them taking the Levamlodipine and Hydroclorithizide. Could I get some medical advise on this.

Avatar n tn Hi, my mother has just started taking amlodipine for high blood pressure (her reading is very high at 210/120) She took the first one around 24 hours ago but has developed a SEVERE headache and cannot tolerate bright lights(so may be a migraine) Should she stop taking the tablets or is this a common side effect of the drug? Will it go away on its own if she carries on taking the tablets? She also feels weak and a little nausea.
Avatar m tn So I was put on amlodipine 10mg and Propranolol 40mg on 1st July 2016. This helped lower my blood pressure to around 115/68. Only problem is that it makes me feel quite tired after little activity like walking. After complaining about this tiredness to the doctor yesterday, he changed my drugs to 100mg Losartan (1 tablet per day) and 25mg Atenolol (2 tablets per day).

Avatar m tn I am 33 year male having hypertension from 3 years taking telmisartan 40 mg from last two years. Now my bp is under control comes under 130/85. I had urine albumin excretion test three times result shows between 100 to 75 mg/dl albumin excretion ( 24 hour urine albumin test on submission of around 1.5 liter urine). The normal values shows in lab report is up to excretion of 150 mg/dl/ .My serum creatinine level comes between 0.8 to 1.0 and urea under 20.
Avatar n tn Your creatinine is still high because you likely have chronic kidney disease from the hypertension. The Telmisartan-HCTZ that was given will not make your creatinine low, it is to treat your hypertension and prevent further damage to your kidneys. It is also possible you have some protein in your urine which the Telmisartan helps to reduce. Also, Telmisartan can cause a slight increase in your creatinine but it is usually not a very significant increase.
Avatar n tn I have problem of BP as well as acute knee pain since last 10 yrs and since last 3/4 months increased too much with swelling on foot- ankles due to increased dosage of Amlodipine-5 mg as pain killer causing increased BP. Avatar n tn I get that dry cough too. I don't take an ACE inhibitor though, I don't think. Just Lopressor, Dyazide/Maxzide, Lipitor and aspirin for the heart issues. For me it started a couple of years ago one summer after pushing myself too hard. I start coughing out of the blue to the point of either just about passing out or vomiting mucus. Urgg My chest hurts and feels sunken in, pounds very hard and quivers sort of and then I'm fine till it happens again.
Avatar n tn I was just prescribed amlodipine for my gastritis how ever I can't seem to find any info about it being helpful for that. All the info I have found is about blood pressure. Is this a common prescription? Should I be concerned if I already have low blood pressure?
Avatar m tn There are 2 other medications that work well for angina that I would usually start prior to Ranexa which are Imdur (Isosorbide mononitrate) or Norvasc (Amlodipine) which can both help with angina and coronary vasospasm (spasm of the large and small vessels which give blood to the heart) which you may possible have.

Avatar m tn I have being told to continue sertraline and use diazepam as and when needed but to also take 1 amlodipine 5mg daily ro bring the bp down and that these were extremely safe wirh the only real side effect being swelling of ankles but to go back if that happens. I have come home and tested my bp and it is averaging about 130/90 but have being looking online about this amlodipine and seen people even call it poison. Is there any one here who uses it? Does it work? Is it worth it?
