Common Questions and Answers about Tekturna hct

tekturna

Avatar n tn t smoke, do exercise, am thin). My doctor put me on a diuretic, Tekturna and Bystolic, and within a week I had completely lost my sense of taste! Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a side effect that will wear off if I just stick it out. The combination seems to be working well to lower my bp and hr but I'm losing weight (a bad thing) and really, really miss food!
Avatar m tn 1. Splenic contarctions under duress can affect HCT count 2. Dehaydration can also be a cause, though vet said potassium levels were normal, in fact they were super high-normal, one more point and they would be high on the reference range 2. Dipstick analysis prone to false positives, therefore questioning accuracy of +++ on protein My questions: 1) Blood was drawn at 6pm, did not leave for the lab until after 9am the following morning. Could suspect handling/storage impact HCT readings?
Avatar n tn diagnostic test results; WBC 4.8, RBC 4.89, HGB15, HCT 43.5, PLATELETS 301, LYMPHS 34, MONOCYTES 8.6, NEUTROPHILS 57.4?
Avatar f tn Also, may want to look into your lab reference ranges on the HGB/HCT- I believe the min. is 39 HCT and 12 HGB.
Avatar n tn I am a 46 yr white female who had blood test levels that were slightly low in RBC and HCT. I had the labs repeated again 6 mths later and not only are the RBC and HCT low, now the CA is low. The levels are as follows (RBC 3.71, HCT 34.7 and CA 8.4). Should I be concerned and have my primary care physician refer me to an oncologist?

2112617 tn?1334326066 My cardiologist has put me on HCT 25mg. That was two weeks ago. Now it seems as though my weight loss is at a standstill. What do I do? My starting weight before wls was 325. I am now 214. My ideal weight is 150. Help.

Avatar n tn ve been using anti-hypertensives for ten years now starting with Lotensen and then switching to Diovan HCT then to hydroclorothyazide for a year or two then back to Diovan HCT. I am about 20 kgs overweight. I walk every day and when in a good routine 8 kms a day, up and down hills through fields etc.
369861 tn?1306275686 I had been on HCT 25 mgand Diovan Hct 320/25 mg for about 2-3 years. My primary doctor took me off the HCT. I had an appointment with my endocrinologist prior to this. I advise the dr what took place with the ER and my primary. The endo doctor then took me off the Diovan HCT and started me on Diovan so that i could take a renin and aldesterone tests. Does the potassium have anything to do with the thyroid and why did the endo take me off all diuretics to take the two tests.
Avatar m tn I am going in for gallbladder removal in 4 days and no one has told me to stop taking Benicar HCT beforehand. I'm on a 20/12.5 dose once daily, so it's pretty low, but won't it possibly cause problems with the anaesthesia/barbituates or if they have to give me morphine afterwards (not likely, but possible)?
Avatar f tn Yesterday, I got my first blood test and discovered that I was UND. It was good news. I also noticed that my HGM had dropped from 13.7 to 10.3. I guess I was sort of excited yesterday and I didn't notice that HCT said 29.7L (meaning low). I'm a little confused on this issue. I know that hematocrit concerns red blood cells and their size and a low level indicates anemia, and it can mean other things as well.
Avatar n tn I just had my annual blood work and it came back that my RBC was H 5.1, HGB was 15.2, HCT was 44.5 should I be concerned. This discussion is related to High RBC count.
Avatar f tn HGB 10.5; HCT 30.4; MCV 56; RDW-SD 32.9; RDW-CV 16.6 The HCT and MVC are very low. What can possibly be the cause? Can this be caused by formaldehyde poisoning? Thank you very much!
1260320 tn?1270394906 I'm on Benicar HCT, have been for many years. Benicar is in a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!
Avatar f tn Sometimes you can get a false reading on a hct and hbg. from hemoconcentration. I had an ulcer bleed and my 1st hbg and hct came back normal, but i couldnt stand up without passing out(orthostatic), i had dark circles under my eyes and looked like a ghost. a few hrs later another one was done and i had to have 4 units of blood. (7&18). I had a heart rate in the 140's. Good luck and get this checked again.....
Avatar n tn Lisinpril can cause a chronic cough and you should stop this medication to see how the cough changes. It may be replaced with valsartan or candesartan which do not usually cause this side effect. The verapamil usually does not cause this side effect. This may not be related to your medications, and chronic cough or ' bronchial asthma' may actually be cardiac in nature ( e.g. CHF). Make sure your physician takes this other consideration into account.
Avatar f tn .WBC-12,RBC-4.10, HGB-9.9, HCT-32.6, MCV-79.5, MCH-24.1, MCHC-30.4, RDW-15.2, PLATELETS 489, WHAT CAN BE WRONG?
478554 tn?1208034407 Hydrochlorothiazide, abbreviated HCTZ, HCT, or HZT, is a first line diuretic drug of the thiazide class that acts by inhibiting the kidneys' ability to retain water. This reduces the volume of the blood, decreasing blood return to the heart and thus cardiac output and, by other mechanisms, is believed to lower peripheral vascular resistance.
