Avatar f tn And hopefully will let the healing begin. I too, am resolved to start taking MUCH better care of my teeth! :-) Take care.
Avatar f tn It's been two months and the extraction site is just now healing...but like I said in my last guestion...is it possible too have chips of bones starting to come threw my skin..
Avatar f tn I am 24 years old and was referred to an oral surgeon for my wisdom teeth extraction. All four wisdom teeth are impacted, the top two have erupted through the skin, but the bottom two have not come through yet. The oral surgeon informed never once mentioned bone grafting- until I got to the counter and the recptionist was putting together the treatment plan- and then it was mentioned that it was recommended to have bone grafting done after the extraction of the bottom two wisdom teeth.
Avatar m tn My dentist said one of my back tooth was a bit weak and that they will need to check it up every 6 months. Well it hurts every once in awhile, but I can't have it checked because I have camp. The inner tooth hurts. I did have my wisdom teeth taken out about 2 and a half weeks ago, could that be the problem? I don't remember MAYBE my tooth hurt even before the wisdom teeth extraction.
Avatar m tn One of my wisdom tooth was pulled out on Tuesday, I felt an ache in the area which I believed was the normal healing process. After researching I am little concern about the side of extraction. The gums in front of the extraction (teeth 18,19, 20) are bleeding when I floss, and when I put pressure on them with my finger. There is also a slight pain as well. Is this normal? Or is this an infection of some sort?
Avatar f tn I WENT TO THE DENTIST YESTERDAY, THEY EXTRACT MY WISDOM TEETH BUT A SMALL PART WAS LEFT INSIDE IT HURTS A LITTLE I'M REALLY CONCERN ABOUT THAT THE DENTIST SAID THAT IT WAS NORMAL BUT I NEED A SECOND OPINION PLEASE HELP ME HE ALSO HIT ME WITH SOMETHING AND NOW I HAVE A LOT OF TROBLE SWALLOWING WHAT I NEED TO DO
Avatar m tn I am going to be having a few surgical extractions done on May 29th, or at least i am considering it. My teeth are in very poor condition, and the teeth that i am having taken out are broken down to the gums. My question is will my mouth and gums be healed enough to go back to work 14hrs a day 7 days a week starting on June 6th? Is that enough time to heal?
Avatar f tn Its probably not pain from the movement of the teeth. It may be sensitive due to the trauma of the area and possibly to the tooth next to it during the extraction. Unfortunately with dry socket, there's no way to improve the healing time of it. Packing the socket and allowing it to heal on its own is the only option. Are you on pain meds as well?
4144828 tn?1351683716 Don't get them taken out while you're pregnant. Because I got mine taken out when I was 12 weeks and I was already feeling crappy, and that seriously made it 100x worse. And here I am, 3 weeks later, and my dentist says they aren't healing properly because I'm pregnant and I'm still in so much pain.
Avatar f tn I had 27 teeth pulled four days ago and a full set of dentures put in. My teeth were all badly infected at the time of extraction. Now I have this foul smell/taste in my mouth and when I remove my dentures for cleaning I noticed that there is a white substance in most of the extraction sites along with my stitches. I rinse my mouth with salt water and clean my dentures two or more times a day. Is there something wrong? Or is the white substance and smell just part of the healing process?
Avatar f tn Extraction of teeth and bone graft are simple procedure . There is no need to worry. It appears that you are going to have immediate denture after tooth extraction. Immediate generally requires soft liner, and may need periodic reling , depending on the material . I personally would place implant 3-6 months after bone graft, depending on the healing process. If you have question, you should discuss with your dentist thoroughly.
Avatar n tn Tomorrow is the start of day 4 of tooth extraction healing, now I havent felt alot of pain but im worried about dry socket. How easy is it for the clot to be removed and if you do have dry socket can you see a whole or what? when my tooth was removed it had been chipped so when I look in my mouth at the extraction site I see only a little bit of white where the clot was. I am assuming it was because I only had a little bit of tooth left there before the pull. IM JUST AFRAID OF DRY SOCKET.
Avatar m tn A piece of what I am assuming is a white food is stuck in one of the holes left from my wisdom tooth extraction. The extraction was almost three weeks ago, and the food has been stuck since yesterday afternoon. I have tried using my irrigation syringe but the water pressure doesn't seem to be enough to get the piece of food out. Should I attempt to remove it with tweezers? Could it be some sort of non-food part of the healing process? Thank you!
Avatar n tn It depends on the difficulty of the extraction. With kids teeth, usually its a pretty quick recovery but if its an adult tooth, the healing time may take longer. Assuming its a baby tooth, he should bounce back pretty quickly and shouldn't be a problem on the flight.
1809287 tn?1316744936 ive had a lot of work done on my teeth in the last month, including root canals and even another extraction, all of which went by smoothly and the healing process was quite fast, however, this time around, it is becoming unbarable. i find myself in tears after hours of constant pain. i would love some answers. please help!
Avatar n tn The pain is worse when I bend over, hot or cold, or cool air hit the extraction site. I went back to my dentist 2 days ago and they said that it is healing nicely, no dry sockets, and just wait another week. The pain is probably in my jar (TMJ). Has anyone else experienced this kind of pain?
784382 tn?1376931040 i had a tooth extracted about 2 weeks ago.... the healing seems to be fine ,but there is a piece of my jaw that is sticking out, it hurts to touch, and almost seems like its trying to break throuhg my gums, it seems to be a sharp piece....is this normal??.....i keep reading the stories about them leaving a peice of tooth in there....or something..... maybe it need to be shaved down??.... i go back to the dentist tomorrow to get another extraction im going to ask about it then as well....
Avatar n tn It’s pretty normal to have pain 2-3 weeks after the extraction of teeth and as Jerome Tsang stated gentle irrigation can be fine to proceed. However, get consulted to your dentist as there may be many potential risks of wisdom tooth extraction and it must be reviewed with your dentist.
Avatar f tn Hello, I had a tooth extraction this morning and the dentist packed it right after and said it was there to help prevent infection in my sinus cavity, But I keep reading it can cause infection . I have had many teeth pulled and healed really well so this worries me. If it's not removed for a week won't it slowly my healing process??
19028025 tn?1473902866 I had a tooth extraction on Monday morning and it was a painless process. It bled for about two hours, then stopped. I assume a clot formed. I have been on a light diet of mashed potatoes, pudding, and apple sauce since. I have not used a straw nor have I spit. I have had some excess saliva, so I have had to swallow often. It does feel a lot like sucking through a straw, I suppose. I do not smoke, etc.
Avatar n tn At the time of extraction, the tooth had pushed the infection down into my jawe bone. The pain has gotten worse eversay sice extraction. I went back to the dentist thinking he could give me a prescription for anitbiotics and he treated it as dry socket. He put some medication down in the hole, which only numbed my mouth and not down into the jaw where it hurts and is swollen. The medication he put in said would only take a few minutes to take effect and after 2 hours it fell out.
Avatar n tn What is the best thing to do to promote healing. Repacking delays the healing process according to my dentist. I am managing the pain with Advil 800 mg every 4 hours. I have Multifple sclerosis and am a slow healer with a great risk of infection. Small infection when the tooth was pulled, but the dentist said it looked good and no infection. My antibiotics have ended on Wednesday. Please tell me any tips to heal sooner.
Avatar n tn About a month ago i had a wisdom tooth taken out. It was healing ok but 5 days ago while biting a sandwich my jaw made a loud popping sound and since then i am not able to open my mouth more than an inch. i also have alot of swelling. What coul this be?
Avatar m tn Just had a tooth extraction, removed all of my wisdom teeth. All areas have healed more or less except my bottom right. That area still hasnt healed and gums are beginning to surround my molar (tooth 31)? Also the inner lining of my mouth near my jaw line is a blood red. Is this an infection? Should I seek a dentist out asap?
Avatar m tn A little background, I have never had a cavity a day in my life, not even as a kid. In fact the only thing I've ever gotten done at the dentist from youth till now, age 32, is a cleaning and routine stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary. Flash forward a lot of years, age 31. I don't remember the time from when I had my last dental visit between teenager to now. Anyways, I went to the dentist on October 27, 2015 to be exact. I was having tooth pain. I thought I had my first cavity.
