652407 tn?1300737199 Hello, I am not very sure of the efficacy and the related side effects of these tattoo removal creams but laser removal although expensive has been found to be the best treatment for tattoo removal. Another technique is Intense Pulsed Light Therapy. It is dermal enhancer in which instead of laser light, it uses high intensity light. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn Question - I get laser tattoo removal treatments every 6-8 weeks and pre-treatment the technician uses an ice roller (looks like a lint-roller but the roller is cold metal) and rubs it on the tattoo and does this again after the laser is performed. Because the laser can cause pinpoint bleeding I am concerned that she didn't sanitize the roller before she rubbed it on my tattoo (which was bleeding). Is there any risk here? Thank you for your answers.
Avatar n tn no, they clean the equipment in between patients.
Avatar m tn I also had tattoo laser removal and after my second treatment developed this rash. Initially it was around my tattoo and is still the main affected area, however it spread through across my body. I have seen a dermatologist nearly every month for the past 8 months and we have tried creams steroids anti histamines etc and nothing seems to be working! I've even had biopsy done on the affected areas. My dr is left scratching his head and I'm obviously still not permanently treated!
Avatar n tn I m lookin for another tattoo removal here where i live and that uses a more new laser. I know the laser that this place I was going use is very very old, but is a Q-switched (at least I belive so). I m going to another place that uses the medc6. Please any advices on this will be helpful, I really want the pink/red pigementation to go away even if it turns white, I prefer white than red, but today is 2 weeks from de procedure and it is still here.
303706 tn?1296876149 So has anybody had a tattoo over a stretchmark and it didnt come out how it was supposed to?? My job has a tattoo removal treatment sessions, somebody else suggested to get them lasered off, do you think thats a better way.
Avatar f tn I will also mention, though, that this was a spontaneous tattoo that a friend did in my house with her equipment. Yes, there was alcohol involved. I am not the kind of person to make decision like this sober! I have recently had blood work done from a miscarriage that I just recently had and nothing came back abnormal. But I don't think that the test would have been directed toward any kind of blood disorder or Hep C, if I happened to have contracted that.

475300 tn?1312423126 Since were talking about tattoos-I was a tattoo artist in the 1980s and early 90s.One way hepC is transmitted via tattoo is interesting. Even though everything (equipment ,etc.) has been medically sterilized in an autoclave, there's a place some inexperienced tattooists miss. First, I fill a small cup with ink, and then begin the tattoo. I dip the bloody needles into the ink, and back to your skin. No problem there. Now, I run low on ink and refill the cup.
Avatar m tn I am about 3 to 4 weeks pregnant and I really wan to get a tattoo , is it safe ?
Avatar m tn no one has ever gotten hiv from getting a tattoo ! ! !
Avatar n tn My boyfriend spent some time in Thailand in January and came home with a tattoo. It was done in a tattoo parlour (not the bamboo tattoos some people get in Thailand) but i am concerned about potential HIV risks. He got tested and the result was negative.
Avatar f tn t get a tattoo if your nursing. You have to be completely done nursing for a tattoo artist to tattoo you.
Avatar m tn The tattoos healed normally after applying the unscented lotion to them for about a week. They look great. My biggest concern about it was being sure all the tattoo equipment used was STERILE, and my artist was more than happy to show me their autoclave, and the sterile envelopes the equipment was kept in, as well as the sterile gloves used. All went well.
Avatar f tn So I looked up ways to remove a tattoo and the safest and most reliable way is laser treatment but that still won’t completely get rid of the tattoo. There is also a risk of infections and stuff like that. I really want a tattoo though, it looks cool. Thoughts/Advice?
Avatar m tn Of course laser scar removal can be used on the genitals to treat scars since laser removal is commonly used in removing warts caused by HPV. From my personal experience, laser therapy is not bad at all and involves very little pain after a session of laser treatment although the pain might be a little annoying when the treatment begins (it feels like bacon grease that occasionally splashes up and hits you in the wrist when you're cooking; nothing too painful).
Avatar f tn No one has ever gotten HIV from a tattoo and they do not reuse equipment and the virus would be inactive by the time you started your tattoo.
Avatar f tn Long story short I am scheduled to get surgery (get my tonsils removed) on December 22nd. I an also scheduled to get my tattoo exactly a week and 2 days before that. I know there are certain rules about if you get a piercing before surgery you can't get surgery. Just wondering what the rules are concerning tattoos. Also my parents do not know I am getting this tattoo and I want to be sure they won't see it or drs cannot tell them about my tattoo. It will be on my side down my ribs.
1913502 tn?1330388192 I am F3, genotype 3. 55... I did the tattoo five years ago. Since F 3 is possible to have been infected this way?
Avatar f tn I had a tattoo done about 2 months ago and next to it about 3cm away was a mole I had removed yesterday I have noticed that when they have pulled the skin to stitch the small area that my tattoo looks stretched so it makes the picture look out of whack once this heals will it make my tattoo look back in shape again????????? Probably sounds very vain....
Avatar m tn m 18 and have wanted a half sleeve tattoo dedicated to my heart surgeries for years and am unsure if I should go for it. My cardiologist I see said no and was pretty much just saying the worst possible thing that could happen, I know many peopel with heart defects similar to mine and are covered in tattoos. Could I get a second opinion? Or go on meds like I do before the dentist?
