flomax

Avatar n tn I've been taking tamsulosin for 3 or 4 years now after my urologist prescribed it for BPH. I've slowly started having leakage issues lately where I will have a strong sudden urge to urinate and have a difficult time holding it until I can get to a toilet. Sometimes some urine leaks out and other times the urge will pass and I can wait before racing to the toilet.
Avatar m tn I am using Flowmax (Tamsulosin) for about 3 months for enlarged prostate. I started noticing my Testicles hang lower now and not tight anymore since I have been using this medication.. Could this be from the use of Tamsulosin?
1831849 tn?1383228392 I saw my urologist he other day and she said that she now like Rapaflo (slidosin) more than Flomax (tamsulosin) for urinary hesitancy. Both are designed to address benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I know the primary audience is men, but there are women who take tamsulosin for urinary hesitancy. I was taking the max dose of tamsulosin, .8mg/day. I'm now taking 8mg Rapaflo/day. I'm told that it will take 4-5 days to see the full benefit if Rapaflo and I'm now on day 3.
Avatar n tn Having done some research before recieving your reply, I did come across information regarding the use of tamsulosin, also known as Flomax, being used for orgasmic pain. The only problem is if you are on Viagra therapy you cannot take Flomax because of the interactions. You can stop the Viagra but then taking Flomax will be of no use if you are not able to acheive an erection without Viagra.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I was given cipro and Flomax for pelvic pain and a UTI. the pain was through the whole pelvis and also individual veins or spermatic cord. does Flomax permanently shrink your prostate or reduce testosterone levels? I read one forum where people where saying they had a permanent loss of strength, could not throw the discus as far?
Avatar m tn Probably not, since the phacoemulsification handpiece still has to be used to aspirate the cataract. A potential advantage of the femtosecond laser is that it will soften the hard nucleus, and allow it to be emulsified or aspirated more easily. Not everyone who is on or who has taken Flomax develops IFIS (intraoperative floppy iris syndrome), but it occurs with the fluid currents in the eye during the emulsification of the cataract nucleus, or the irrigation-aspiration of the cortex.
Avatar f tn Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I? History- Irritable bowel syndrome, (past)stomach ulcers, smoker, and just diagnosed with Fibrous Dysplasia (still finding out more information and getting more testing, health problems with this also started in Feb.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thanks for writing in. Prostatitis is usually not a side effect of use of flomax, indeed it can happen due to BPH, for which flomax is used as treatment. It would be better to get prostrate examination done by a urologist and take opinion for surgery for resolving these symptoms. Choice of antibiotics depends upon the kind of organism affecting the prostrate. Best.
2143924 tn?1545284130 Hello, For kidney pain you may take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen or naproxen .Few doctors also recommend Tamsulosin (Flomax)to speed the passage of stones. The size and location of ureter stones are the most important factors for predicting the spontaneous passage of the stone. Lithotripsy is a good option for stones 1 cm or less in the kidney and upper ureter. Consult a nephrologist for more queries and assistance. Hope it helped. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn t taking Flomax (tamsulosin), you might ask your doctor for it -- it dilates the muscles of the distal ureter and helps stones pass quicker. If you were my patient and needed ureteroscopy, I would not be likely to leave a stent. Studies show that in an uncomplicated ureteroscopy, a stent is probably not needed.
Avatar m tn 9mm, it is passable without surgery, and the most effective medication to help it along is called tamsulosin (Flomax).
Avatar m tn I am sure these feelings did contribute to my symptoms for a short while. However symptoms have continued to linger even after all negative tests. Time Line: Day 10 post exposure - I had urines taken for Ghon, Chlam, NSU - All negative Almost 2/3 weeks post exposure - I developed symptoms such as frequent urinating, slight stinging sensations, occasional tenderness or irritation at tip of penis, dripping urine in small volumes after voiding. Aching testicles and hot sensations in testicles.
Avatar f tn For kidney pain you may take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen or naproxen .Few doctors also recommend Tamsulosin (Flomax) to speed the passage of stones. A person with a larger stone, or one which blocks urine flow and associated with pain, may need more urgent treatment. Consult. Early diagnosis and treatment will be helpful. This is only an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. a nephrologist for more queries and assistance . I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin? Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days? Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
Avatar m tn As I am researching the causes of the problem and trying to find out why the first surgery failed, I came across some medical studies and articles about a connection between use of Flowmax (tamsulosin) for BPH, and problems associated with eye surgeries. This is a big concern for me and it never came up in any discussion with the either eye surgeons. I quit using the medication due to other undesireable effects (nearly fainting) so it was not listed on my current medications list.
Avatar n tn Age 64, with flomax I experience no pleasure with my orgasms. Is this because of the retrograd ejac. or is it a side effect of the medication? I may need to have surgery to improve my urinary flow, but retrograde ejac is a common outcome of these surgeries, and I need to know if I am at risk for losing my orgasm pleasure . I do see an occasional posting of men who have lost their pleasure after these surgeries, with no recourse.
Avatar m tn If I remember correctly one of the drug companies just came out with a single pill that has both Flomax and Avodart in it. Just for your understanding, Flomax will give you relieve in just an hour or two so you can pee freely, but does not reduce the prostate size much(which is the the long term goal) where as Avodart slowly reduces the prostate size over months. Obviously, two two together will give you the best outcome.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response. How does Flomax help you? Are you able to fully empty your bladder now?
