You may actually experience fewer or less severe symptoms for having gotten the vaccination. As far as Tamiflu, yes, it is safe during pregnancy. I have taken it myself. Hope you feel better soon.

I was just wondering if anyone has had or is planning on getting the H1N1 vaccination?? I was a little nervous about getting the shot being that I am pregnant and all but I was just watching the news and this lady had the swine flu last year and she was 27 wks pregnant and she actually lost the baby but she was ok. The docs had to put her in an induced coma for like 5 wks. They did take the baby out but the baby didn't make it.

For some reason I don't think I would. Keep your hands washed and gosh, I don't know what to tell you. I just don't know about med's these days. It's so easy for the dr.'s to tell you right? I also don't envy your situation and honestly don't know what I'd do. I know I'm NOT getting any vaccination for it but I just don't know anything about Tamiflu. If you are generally healthy and you get it, its' like a bad cold right?

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.

Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.

My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?

Get to a doctor and get a tamiflu prescription asap if you test positive. It took me almost a month to recover.

Tamiflu is in no way safe during pregnancy. The risks outweigh the benefits I'm pretty sure.its class c. I had flu last January 7 months pregnant and they couldn't give me anything. But tell me to stay hydrated!!

My husband and MIL had the flu over Christmas, but I had a flu shot and was fine. You can take Tamiflu while pregnant if you do get the flu.

I have been so miserable for a whole week now. There is no relief and at times I feel like I'm dying. This might sound dramatic but I am serious my nose runs like a faucet I cannot breathe through it my TEETH hurt so bad I can't chew a banana. Yes, thanksgiving week, my son had the flu. I was so sick and was sure I caught it too, but I could only take tylenol and Tamiflu. Drink lots of liquids. Other than that, you're literally going to have to sweat it out. Hope you feel well soon.
