Tamiflu vaccination

Common Questions and Answers about Tamiflu vaccination

tamiflu

Avatar n tn You may actually experience fewer or less severe symptoms for having gotten the vaccination. As far as Tamiflu, yes, it is safe during pregnancy. I have taken it myself. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if anyone has had or is planning on getting the H1N1 vaccination?? I was a little nervous about getting the shot being that I am pregnant and all but I was just watching the news and this lady had the swine flu last year and she was 27 wks pregnant and she actually lost the baby but she was ok. The docs had to put her in an induced coma for like 5 wks. They did take the baby out but the baby didn't make it.
Avatar f tn Hi, there are a number of discussions going on here about the flu vaccination ... I would recommend we not start another one here. :-) You can jump in the threads at http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Multiple-Sclerosis/Flu-shot-or-not/show/1057990 or http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Multiple-Sclerosis/Ongoing-discussion-about-H1N1-Vaccine/show/1094484 http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Multiple-Sclerosis/Tamiflu-for-h1n1/show/1093078 http://www.medhelp.
167 tn?1374173817 For some reason I don't think I would. Keep your hands washed and gosh, I don't know what to tell you. I just don't know about med's these days. It's so easy for the dr.'s to tell you right? I also don't envy your situation and honestly don't know what I'd do. I know I'm NOT getting any vaccination for it but I just don't know anything about Tamiflu. If you are generally healthy and you get it, its' like a bad cold right?
Avatar n tn my son just tested positive for the flu and I'm 18 weeks pregnant ...what do I do? I don't wanna get sick ...my doctor is recommending a flu shot but is a flu shot safe for me and my baby? What about tamiflu while your pregnant...
Avatar f tn 30 weeks pregnant, has anyone ever took tamiflu while pregnant? Any side affects to you or your child after birth?
Avatar n tn I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.
Avatar n tn told us that he was not eleigible to recieve a prescription for Tamiflu. Where can I find any federal or state restictions for eleigibility.
Avatar f tn Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.
Avatar f tn My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?
Avatar f tn Get to a doctor and get a tamiflu prescription asap if you test positive. It took me almost a month to recover.
7714453 tn?1394714282 ll cause harm to my baby. Anyone been prescribed meds for flu this pregnancy? (Tamiflu in particular..) Any natural remedies? That's the route I like to go.. I've never had the flu in my life.
605648 tn?1249571427 The last couple of days, I've been hearing a lot of reports re: pregnant women being a high-risk group for the swine flu. It was on NPR today and BBC. CNN reported a case last week in Florida. Apparently the flu is robbing the mom and the baby of oxygen enough to sustain both? It was a biggish deal there for awhile and dropped off, with people saying they expected to see it back in the fall (flu season.
6822962 tn?1396329659 I ended up in urgent care where they told me i got the deadly kind of flu. He prescribed me Tamiflu and was wondering if anyone else has taken it. Did you experience any side effects to you or baby. I am worried about my baby.
Avatar n tn For the last four days I been having flu like symtoms (fever, night sweats, body aches) , seen the dr. and he perscribed TAMIFLU. In what time frame would someone infected see symptoms if any at all? 2. Would you suggest testing and if so what test would be the correct test at 9 weeks. Would TAMIFLU affect the result?
1029233 tn?1263966032 Hey ladies. I really really need your help. I know you are all probably tired of hearing about swine flu but where I live in Texas it is running rampant I have always been a worrier and always think the worst of everything. I have had a pretty rough first pregnancy. They found a subchorionic hematoma that was huge and I bled until I was 6 months pregnant. I thought I had swine flu this weekend after coming in contact with someone who had it.

Avatar m tn The media would have us believe that the only anti-viral drug in the world is Tamiflu, developed from a herb called Chinese Star Anise (Illicium verum). http://middlepath.com.au/qol/natural_influenza_protection_treatment.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with influenza on sunday in the er and the doctor prescribed me with tamiflu 75mg but I'm worried about my baby getting harmed by the medication because I'm only 14 weeks...any comments or recommendations???
Avatar f tn Tamiflu is in no way safe during pregnancy. The risks outweigh the benefits I'm pretty sure.its class c. I had flu last January 7 months pregnant and they couldn't give me anything. But tell me to stay hydrated!!
Avatar f tn My husband and MIL had the flu over Christmas, but I had a flu shot and was fine. You can take Tamiflu while pregnant if you do get the flu.
Avatar n tn I have been so miserable for a whole week now. There is no relief and at times I feel like I'm dying. This might sound dramatic but I am serious my nose runs like a faucet I cannot breathe through it my TEETH hurt so bad I can't chew a banana. My throat and mouth are on fire because of all the mouth breathing and the aches pains and chills are enough to send me up the wall! I have never had the flu before but I wouldn't wish this on Hitler!
457721 tn?1256640798 I am being treated for it right now with Tamiflu...and I am absolutely miserable. Obviously, I am VERY worried about the potential complications it can cause during pregnancy. :( My doctor is most worried about dehydration, since I am already having preterm contractions and we obviously want to avoid delivering too early. Just thought I would see if any one else is experiencing/experienced this!
Avatar f tn t realize how sick I had gotten and it turned into pneumonia. I was hospitalized for 9 days with it.
8960138 tn?1407673893 Yes, thanksgiving week, my son had the flu. I was so sick and was sure I caught it too, but I could only take tylenol and Tamiflu. Drink lots of liquids. Other than that, you're literally going to have to sweat it out. Hope you feel well soon.
