tamiflu neurological side effects

My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?

He prescribed me Tamiflu and was wondering if anyone else has taken it. Did you experience any side effects to you or baby. I am worried about my baby.

I have read that ebv can have neurological effects and it can go up to the brain and cause brain swelling and vision loss that is what I am worried about. Please and information to get rid of this would be helpful and I would appreciate prayers as well. thanks.

Oh wow...how scary! I would probably take the tamiflu...especially since your ob is recommending it. The complications associated with H1N1 are so much more serious for you, since you're pregnant, that personally I think that outweighs any possible side effects of the tamiflu. But I'm definitely no expert. Does your ob have any experience with tamiflu and other pregnant women? It might help if he or she can share with you some examples of others who used it without complications.

All negative except West Nile IgG. Neuro feels this is neurological side effects of WN but Igm is negative so i am concerned that is not it. Did have flu like illness in late spring 2010 and have had bad headache, neck pain at least 3-4 months before other stuff started so those could have started after the "flu" illness. If he is experiencing an increase in heart palpitations while taking Florinef, I would recommend asking his doctor to check his Potassium level. Florinef can deplete the body of Potassium, which can cause all sorts of unusual side effects.
