I got one implanted in Delhi at Escorts Hospital in 2008. A single lead ICD, Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator capable of pacing and defibrillator (I am not sure if a pacemaker has only one function i.e. pacing) cost me approx Rs 450000 (USD 10000) including surgery. More complicated ones could cost double. In India you can negotiate the cost with representatives of different ICD brands and get a good deal. There are many models of ICDs with different battery life.

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.

My very elderly father (in India) has, as stated by a senior US cardiologist, a high burden of PVCs of a left-ventricular origin that should be controlled and, catheter ablation is an option. He is currently undergoing treatment using anti-arrhythmia drugs but with limited success and, catheter ablation is looking to be a distinct possibility.
If the situation does arise, the wish is for the ablation process to be conducted here in US, possibly California.

I'm worried it's going to hurt the baby. Also it did get the flu vaccine, I was only a couple weeks pregnant so I didn't know but I'm a little mad they push a vaccine that obviously doesn't work.
told us that he was not eleigible to recieve a prescription for Tamiflu. Where can I find any federal or state restictions for eleigibility.
Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.
Is Copaxone available in India? If so, I wonder how much the Copaxone would cost and how much you can you buy at one time and transfer it with you on a plane?
You are right--health care costs are very, very expensive. I spend about $10,000/year on health care (which includes the insurance, medicines, doctor costs, etc.).

My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?
Get to a doctor and get a tamiflu prescription asap if you test positive. It took me almost a month to recover.
Any idea how much would this surgery cost in India? I'm a student right now, so if it's beyond my allowance I'll wait till I find work. Thanks in advance.
