Tamiflu common cold

Common Questions and Answers about Tamiflu common cold

tamiflu

Avatar n tn Tamiflu is completely safe for pregnant mama's. I'm a pharmacy assistant, a dispensary assistant and used to be a medical receptionist and a practice manager. So I'm partially aware of what's safe and whats not (obviously not as advanced as doctors and pharmacists) but it is most definitely safe to take. It's generally used for Influenza though not just a common cold.
Avatar n tn Every year from November to April is the specific season of influenza infection. The flu is more contagious than the common cold and has a high mortality rate. Influenza is a viral infection caused by influenza viruses, and influenza patients are the main source of influenza infection. It is mainly transmitted by humans. The virus can directly infect people who come into contact with the air, and can indirectly infect others through contaminated things.
Avatar f tn I have a really bad cold, body aches, stuffy nose, chills then get hot, I'm hoping it's not the flu, but I was wondering is it safe to take tylenol cold & flu tablets every 4 hours? ?
Avatar f tn I am ready for spring and for cold/flu season to pass. I still have to get my flu shot, but will wait until this cold has passed!
1806721 tn?1554333407 I jusr had the exact same thing happen to me and the thing that helped me most was tamaflu. But you have to have a script for that. Other medications I was on were musinex D, throat spray, nyquil without the alcohol in it.
Avatar f tn Do you know what worries me about all this though is, IF lots of people are being misdiagnosed they are walking about thinking they are immune, when they simply had a cold or similar. So if this does happen and they have been given tamiflu for the wrong reason it probably wont work when they need it. Not only that it will give false figures and when we think we are in the clear, all the people who were misdiagnosed will probably catch it later towards the winter.
167 tn?1374173817 OB says to take Tamiflu and start today, but Tamiflu is not recommended for pregnancy based on unknown reactions to unborn children. Hubby and I don't know what decision is the best for us. Any opinions? The prescription is waiting for me...just so scared either way. I am leaning towards taking my chances and not taking it, but that is not the recommendation. What if I harm my baby by taking it? What if I do by not taking it??
Avatar f tn My husband and MIL had the flu over Christmas, but I had a flu shot and was fine. You can take Tamiflu while pregnant if you do get the flu.
Avatar n tn I have had a condom slip during with drawl with an escort in Europe. I reside in India & have taken HIV Duo test (Vidas HIV Duo) at 3, 5 & 7 weeks with negative result, followed by HIV Combo Ab/Ag & simple antibody test at end of 3 months (90 days) which were also negative. I have been on this forum earlier with satisfying responses from your panel of doctors.
11824068 tn?1421360161 Can a common cold cause me to have a miscarriage? My bf is sick and his roommate said that if i get sick im killing the baby. Is this true?
351724 tn?1267537018 Hello so far for almost 2 wks ive had a cold and cough it first started off as your general common cold or possable sinus infection ? had runny nose ,pressure in forehead, itchy raw throat , sneezing, and a little bit of acheyness and a dry cough when i first started to cough i coughed up some greenesh brown phlem . as the days went by my cough started to sound like i was gargling, and nothing else was coming up, i would feel my chest rattle . then i noticed my right eye having pressure in it.
Avatar n tn I think if you have COPD that is a issue all by itself, the common cold could make this seem like your having more trouble breathing, and with secretions, your airway isnt as clear as usual, but even someone without COPD, feels like crap when they have a cold. This doesnt effect their lung function and it doesnt your either. It might take a COPD pt longer to recover from most common colds, but after you knock it your lungs shouldnt be any worse than they were vefore you got the cold.
551343 tn?1506830518 Many people with MS took it and it was also used in Parkinsons. Amantadine stopped working for flu so we now have tamiflu. So many people have been given tamiflu a resistance must happen shortly. A nasty chesty cough is typical with swine flu but chest infections and pneumonia are complications. If she is continuing to bring up green mucus I would insist on seeing her GP.
Avatar f tn My daughter had the flu, so she was describe some medicine. Tamiflu, and nasal spray. 2 days after taking the medicine, she complains that her mouth hurts. I look and there is a rash on the roof of her mouth, behind her 2 front teeth and her right molar... when anything cold aggrevates it. I wanted to know if this could be a reaction to the medicine?
Avatar f tn 30 weeks pregnant, has anyone ever took tamiflu while pregnant? Any side affects to you or your child after birth?
4355200 tn?1354593144 My four-year-old grandson, who has leukemia, was just diagnosed with the flu despite having the shot this year. I also had the shot prior to my diagnosis. Obviously it doesn't cover strain B, which is what he has. My husband and I kept him until this morning so we have been exposed big time. Does anyone know about Tamiflu and whether or not it should be taken with HCV. My guess is it's okay, but my hepa will not respond to any of my questions, so I'm asking here.
Avatar n tn I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and just found out I have the flu. My OB put me on Tamiflu but my primary said she wasn't sure about it. Has anyone been on this while pregnant? I'm worried it's going to hurt the baby. Also it did get the flu vaccine, I was only a couple weeks pregnant so I didn't know but I'm a little mad they push a vaccine that obviously doesn't work.
Avatar n tn told us that he was not eleigible to recieve a prescription for Tamiflu. Where can I find any federal or state restictions for eleigibility.
Avatar f tn Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.
Avatar n tn Would herpes cause strong flu symptoms without the sores? my doc recons i should take tamiflu as it sounds like swine/seasonal flu. hope it is! am of course goin for a sexual health screen but have been recommended to wait 2 weeks as things wont show before this.. so in the meantime.. i'm gettin a little worried. :( any advice would be very helpful. also.. any other stds cause these kinda reactions? Avatar f tn My OB called me and told me that as a prevention she wanted to put me on Tamiflu which is not recommended for pregnant women because the side effects are unknown. She said that the benefits would outweigh the negatives most likely because there have already been deaths linked to this strain of flu. The pharmacist didn't seem worried because I am 18 weeks along. Any of you ladies been put on tamiflu? Should I trust my doctor and pharmacist?
