Avatar f tn I am 36 weeks and have the flu. I spoke with my ob last night and he said that he woukd not prescribe me tamiflu because pregnant women shouldn't take antiviral medication. He said to rest and get plenty of fluids and keep monitoring baby's movement.
7714453 tn?1394714282 I had the flu when I was 6 months Prego with my first...they gave me tamiflu...
167 tn?1374173817 OB says to take Tamiflu and start today, but Tamiflu is not recommended for pregnancy based on unknown reactions to unborn children. Hubby and I don't know what decision is the best for us. Any opinions? The prescription is waiting for me...just so scared either way. I am leaning towards taking my chances and not taking it, but that is not the recommendation. What if I harm my baby by taking it? What if I do by not taking it??
688450 tn?1259468734 m in the third trimester and cant breathe in the first place since my belly is huge - so i defitnely see why it would be bad to get it at this stage! since our lungs are already compromised! They say immune system is not as strong and lung capacity bad in 3rd tri, is what makes it riskier in the 3rd tri.. as far as 1st and 2nd... i think its mainly just keeping the fever down so you dont hurt the baby's development..

Avatar f tn I recently was exposed to someone with influenza. My OB as a precaution prescribed Tamiflu. I'm at the end of my pregnancy 36 weeks and I'm just curious to know if any other moms - to - be have taken this medication and any advice with any moms that have gotten the flu.
982641 tn?1252025412 I'm so nervous about it. I was hit with Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) after my last miscarriage. Not to make anyone paranoid, but GBS, and autoimmune disease, often occurs after receiving vaccines so I need to check with my neurologist first. My appointment is at the end of August, so that gives me some time to think about it. I guess if I was at high risk for exposure (working in a hospital, school, etc), I would get it.
4355200 tn?1354593144 In postmarketing experience, rare cases of anaphylaxis and serious skin reactions, including toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and erythema multiforme, have been reported with TAMIFLU. Tamiflu should be stopped and appropriate treatment instituted if an allergic-like reaction occurs or is suspected.
6576704 tn?1383187473 I took tamiflu during last pregnancy. Safer to take to make u feel better than the risk of u staying so ill. With all meds there are risks but in this case it's better to take the meds and get better faster. I felt way better after 2 days. If I remember tamiflu is only for 5 days. Good luck. Stay hydrated and take the meds.
Avatar n tn I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.
Avatar f tn Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.

I have had really no appetite this first trimester. Been cramping really bad and feeling nauseous in the evenings. Had morning sickness once. Usually it's just been dry heaves. Oh and I'm tired all the time! We think it's going to be a girl. Can't wait to find out.

Avatar n tn This is my very first pregnancy and I have a yeast infection. It's milky and doesn't have an odor, but what can I take besides monistat to get rid of it? Is there pills my doctor can prescribe?
Avatar f tn I'll be 19 in a couple months and am in my second trimester with my first. My best advice is to not worry so much, eat healthy, listen to your doctor and don't get too stressed out. Though you do have a few medical issues that im sure make you more nervous than some take comfort in the fact that though we're considered young to have children this is the best time, biologically speaking, for us to carry.
