taking zyrtec with sudafed

I've never had allergies of any kind. Then I noticed my nose was runny sometimes. Sneezing some. Nothing alarming. Then I woke up and was having trouble swallowing - felt like something was stuck in my throat. Doc said there was tons of drainage - the diagnosis: allergies. I started zyrtec and flonase, and got a HEPA air purifier. I've had that for about 2 weeks. Annnd now I've developed ear infections in BOTH ears due to the allergies, even taking all that and with the filter.

Need advice, anything to help the congestion. My nose has been stuffy for a good two weeks. I have awful allergies, so I've been taking zyrtec. After that didn't help, I talked to the doctor, they told me to take mucinex and sudafed. Took those and still stuffed. Took antibiotics thinking it was an infection and I received no results. I am 5 weeks pregnant since yesterday and wondering if it has anything to do with the pregnancy.

What helped me A LOT was ginger tea, and hot lemonades sweeten with honey. I was scared of taking medicines so I always looked for natural remedies.

My Dr gave me a list of safe meds and on it are sudafed, Claritin and zyrtec.

neighbors that they had similar troubles when they moved to this area from where they did live all their lives. I am still on antib and will start taking an allergy med (Zyrtec) tonight along w/ Sudafed, I guess. Bought some Alavert but didn't start it and the Pharmacist I called today (to ask about interactions w/ it) said he doesn't recomment Alavert b/c it doesn't seem to work as well as Zyrtec along w/ a separate decongestant (like Sudafed). So, I will try that.

if you are sneezing and stuffy, take sudafed, it has to be the regular staight sudafed, it can not be sudafed PE, my RE and ob gyn told me the sudafed PE decreases blood supply to the uterus, but straight sudafed is perfectly fine. I dont know about other states but in new york you actually have to go to the pharmacist to get the sudafed, as people were abusing it to make meth, so they have to take your drivers license info down..

For ladies with Allergies what are you taking or doing. Claritin just doesn't seem to be doing the job. I am a stuffy, sneezey mess with watery eyes half the time. And I need to function so Benadryl is not an option unless I am able to sleep all day.

I stay awake for one to three hours at night trying to breath, blowing my nose, and trying to fall back asleep. I stay congested all day only with relief of an about two hours after taking sudafed. My question is....do any of you know of anything I can ask my OB to prescribe me? I have talked to my Family Practitioner about steroid injections and they do not give those. I am at my wits end. Any help will be much appreciated.

As beanie said it depends on how far along she is. My Dr prescribed me Zyrtec and I am 10 weeks. Also, she can take benadryl, and sudafed but not until she's in her 2nd trimester.

I'm currently 36 weeks. I would be feeling pretty good and was up until about three days ago. The pollen in the air is making me so sick! I am so plugged up that breathing is incredibly difficult on top of having this belly. The pregnancy alone or the allergies alone would be fine, but together I just want to quit my job and lady in bed crying all day. I've been taking zyrtec, benadryl at night. Don't take anything. Nothing is proven to be safe for the baby. My doc told me I could take tylanol if I wanted bit I didn't like the tone in his voice...so I just stuck with water and lemon or decaffeinated tea.

But you can take Tylenol cold, but no dm or pm stuff to help you sleep. Peppermint helps with sinuses and lavender helps with headaches. But if your fever is above 101, go to the er!

I've been waking up with a runny nose and a sore throat... which means is about to get bad. Can I take anything to prevent it getting bad?

t take Allegra anymore, nor Claritin, nor Aerius or Zyrtec. Also, no Sudafed and ones like that. He said I really shouldn't take anything with a heart arrhythmia, except to use a saline nasal spray from the pharmacy. That doesn't do much, but is better than nothing. When I get congested, my ears plug and I get dizzy. I really wish I felt I could safely take something, but am afraid to do so.

m allergic to Allegra-D, and Zyrtec makes me feel like a zombie. Hot water with lemon seems to help my throat, but it seems the condition just doesn't want to go away, no matter what I do. Is there any medication that actually works reducing swelling, inflammation, etc..... All suggestions/experience appreciated. Oh and allergist told me to take aspirin when my throat swells, but aspirin doesn't help either.

For congestion my doctor advised me it was safe to take zyrtec, Claritin,benadryl, as well Tylenol cold and Sudafed. Hopes this helps.
