Eating LOTS of grapefruit could increase the effectiveness of your medication, grapefruit effects the bodies metabolism (as do some other foods). If you are taking Vyvanse you should really be avoiding sugery foods any way.
I am extremely tired, have anxiety with everything going on around me at once, and I cant concentrate at all, I walked around my kitchen for 15 minutes not knowing why i wass but knew there was a reason then finally got my car keys that i was needing to get in the first place. Is this normal? I was taking 20mg of adderall xr and went to 60mg of vyvanse which i was told was like taking 25 to 30mg of adderall but i feel like im in some sort of withdrawal from adderall.
Her husband takes twenty mgs of Adderall daily, and sometimes she will take an adderall instead of a vyvanse. Is this safe?? I don't think she is taking them at the same time but, is it safe for her to take an adderall on occasion? She claims the adderall gives her more energy than the vyvanse so she takes it when she has a night that she is working late and so on. I am just making sure this is not harmful to her, I am a recoverying addict and am scared I am seeing the same signs in her....
I can send you links on ways to improve sleep if that is a problem. Don't take Adderall with orange juice - it really cuts into its effectiveness. And, as Dr. Charles Parker says in his book on New ADHD Meds, if your transit time (like constipation, etc.) is slow or really fast - your dose may need to be changed. In terms of another med. You didn't say if you were on regular Adderall or Adderall XR. But Vyvanse has the longest time of duration. It would be worth trying.
Hi there, thanks for the quick reply! I have been on vyvanse before in combination with a lower dose of concerta but was taken off of it. I found it was less beneficial for me. I also take Pristiq (150 mg/morning), then as you know the Concerta (108 mg/morning), Abilify (15 mg/night) and Epival (1000 mg/night). I also take Meloxicam and Tramadol as needed. But I rarely bother with the Tramadol as it barely does anything for my pain.
Main food interaction to avoid is something like orange juice within two hours of your med. It will counteract the medications effectiveness. Also a high protein breakfast will make the med even more effective. As far as coffee goes, if i remember correctly, it depends on the individual. I would wait until after you have had breakfast before your adderall as it can affect your appetite and breakfast is really a very important meal.
I know some people have an aversion to medications, but I am 60, and have been struggling with this chronic fatigue so long, I am just plain tired, and don't care, if I feel better I have no problem with taking something to make me feel better. I have done all the things you are suppose to do to be healthy, and I probably would be worse off if I hadn't taken care of myself, so I feel justified, and I am ready to feel better.
I am a 40 yr old male and I have been taking 2-4 Vicodin a day for the past three years. A medical doctor prescribed it for me after it was discovered I suffered bone degeneration in my lower 2 disk vertebrea. At the time I thought little of taking a prescription painkiller. Now after my first 6 days of no longer taking Vicodin I am realizing how powerful of a substance it actually is. I'm having withdrawal symptoms I didn't expect.
I take it along with Wellbutrin. I just wanted to tell you my experience with this drug.I have struggled with my weight all of my life . I am now 35, 3 children and when i was diagnosed manic-depressive i was on prozac, wellbutrin and taking hi levels of prescription weight loss pills. I was losing my mind but i wasn't losing any weight! When my Psychatrist decided to try me on Topamax it was because of my anieity over my weight gain with the standard mood stabilizers.
