As someone who has struggled with food addiction and weight my entire life it was an unexpected miracle that Vyvanse COMPLETELY rid me of my food compulsion...I have to remind myself to eat? Can anyone calm me down? Confirm my fears? suggest something else?

t know if it will ever go away, but my 16 year old son has been on Vyvanse for 4 years and last year was diagnosed with OCD after taking him off for the summer for a drug break. He also started to have some major anxiety where he will go in his room and cry (loudly). I am now trying to wean him off after he started having chest pains and his left arm went numb. Very disturbing. Did the Food & Drug Administration test this before approving it?

I am going to go off Vyvanse due to severe anxiety when crash hits. No dose seemed to fit for me. But, I lost the weight I was needing to lose (20 lbs) and if I go off Vyvanse, will it come back on with a vengance? I have heard hunger just is out of control when stopping this drug. My son has been takiing this med Vyvanse for adhd, so I decided to take it to see if it would help me with my depression and anxiety, and it worked great, I didn't have any side effect to it. This is why I ask if its okay to take Vyvanse for my anxiety, right now I'm taking celexa but its not doing nothing for me anymore. I've been taking Celexa for the past 3 yrs and I think its time for me to change my meds.

im 16 years old and for about a half a year I've been having numbness through out my body It kind of feels like the feeling you get when you get up to fast and you feel like your going to faint , but for me I can be standing up and it happens at any moment. When I first noticed this my whole body was numb and my fingers will be moving the same way a magician moves his fingers but I would be doing it on my leg or my arm.

Just a couple of months ago I was diagnosed ADHD, and Vyvanse was prescribed, along with clonidin. I have to really watch my blood pressure now, because if I miss taking the atenenol, my blood pressure will shoot up over 160 really quick. Is there any solution for people with 2 conditions like this where the medication for one condition diametrically opposes the medication for the second condition ? Would some other blood pressure medication work better than a beta blocker ?

I have just been recently diagnosed with adult onset ADHD,I was prescribed 5mb abilify and 50mg Vyvanse. I was so glad to read your article on vyvanse because I was sooo scared to take it til today when I started. I needed the meds but didnt want my appetite suppressed like my son gets when he is taking focalin. What do you think about an 11yr old taking it? Hello my name is John and was wondering if anyone can share experiences with Vyvanse. I started Vyvanse 3 months ago and my Doctor started me on a low dose and slowly upped the dose to 50 mg which worked great for me, but I wanted to see if 60 mg would benefit me more. I tried it for 2 weeks and it was definitely too much, it made me very up tight and not myself. So I went back down to 50 mg and now it seems if the 50 mg doesn't work as good as before. Has anyone experienced this?

I have a friend who's son (no, really) was taking Vyvanse. He experienced severe dry mouth, hand-wringing, decrease affect, and a very short fuse. Hope you get this resolved; I'm sure you feel miserable. I believe that my friend's son began taking Metadate with more success. Still not sure of any contraindications with Xanax, though.

YES! I'm a 22 year old male taking 50 mg vyvanse daily. I'm in recovery for alcohol and cocaine abuse. Been sober now for 10 months, and yes it has been difficult not to abuse vyvanse. Addicts think different than most people. We find something we like and all we can think is more more more. What I do is get a friend to hold my vyvanse and give it me as needed. I don't recommend holding on to them yourself!!! Bad idea!!

The problem is that my doc prescribed me 60 30mg capsules so im trying to figure out how many 30 mg capsules is 70 mg vyvanse which i know that a 30mg vyvanse is 10mg adderall and 70 mg vyvanse is 30mg adderall.Is 7 30mg vyvanse capsules 70mg dose .I switched from taking 30mg adderall twice a day im going to have to call doc tommorroww.Any help in figuring this out .Thank you Im trying to get 70 mg vyvanse out of these 30mg capsules 1 70 mg or 1 60 is the right dose for me.

My experiences deployed left me with heightened anxiety, irritability, and anger. I started taking Vyvanse two years ago. I am skeptical of putting drugs in my body so I split the dosage in half; 20mg once a day. If you have ADHD and a prescription - no worries even if it does show up. If you don't ....then this search showed that, "Vyvanse is detectable in urine up to 3 days after ingesting Vyvanse. Vyvanse is detectable in hair samples for months after ingestion. Though Vyvanse itself only stays in your system four hours post-ingestion, the active drug d-amphetamine stays in your system for 40 hours.
