Taking vyvanse and ritalin together

Common Questions and Answers about Taking vyvanse and ritalin together

vyvanse

Vyvanse has essentially the same side effects as Focalin. I am an adult taking Vyvanse and have had experience with all other ADHD meds. Vyvanse, though stronger than some meds, seems to step up to the plate where all the others fall short in some way. Focalin/Concerta/Ritalin all helped calmed me down, however did not help with focus and concentration as much.
Thus far though they have worked very well together. Vyvanse is a newer ADD med and I specifically requested something other than Adderall due to side affects. My doctor explained to me that because Vyvanse has a very good time release the boost is similar however not as overbearing and much easier as it wears off than Adderall because the "come down" or "crash" does not cause such a severe low.
i was diagnose ADD when I was 40--given ritalin, which didn't seem to help. eventually given vyvanse for ADD and because psych thought it might help my depression. I can't believe the the things I was getting done!! We lost our medical insurance and my husband didn't want me to go off of it, so we payed $150 dollars a month for a couple of months--then eventually had to change to something generic and short acting---didn't work as well.
If you don't mind me asking why is it that you would need both Concerta and Adderall rather than just taking Adderall alone or looking into Ritalin? Your doc is right that together those drugs are very addictive and even though you aren't looking to abuse the drugs it does not matter a prolonged use of them causes an addictive dependency. It's important to realize that it may take time and trial and error in order to find the right drug to treat your ADD.
RE TAKING TOO MUCH!!!!!! No wonder you're abusing alcohol and cigarettes. I am taking 50mg daily and at age 50, I have no negative side effects. Vyvance usually wears off at about 4pm. On the positive side, It actually opens my nasal passages and I can breath freely. My allergies have prevented this for years.
I have cleaned up my desk and gotten some issues that I put off resolved. I love Vyvanse and you only take it once a day. I think you will see great changes once she's got her meds straight. It's just a matter of finding the right one. Ritalin is good but must be taken more than once a day but they do have a patch. Also Aderrall is another drug people report success with. I'm sure your doc will know which one is best for your daughter. I'm curious, how do they diagnose children with bipolar?
I have taken ADD meds most of my life, like ritalin, and now I take Vyvanse (amphetamine based) stangely I have never been addicted to this, I don't take it on the weekends, never took more than I am supposed to. To the point, would adding L-tyrosine be a bad mix to an ADD med? ADD meds give you a kick, though not much of one as I have been on them so long. I get the effects I need with regards to focus and production. Just afraid a pick me up might blast my blood pressure.
my son is balding is a side effect of Vyvanse he has been taking it since Feb. 08. any suggestions he is only 10 years old..
Have the fit and see what he would do instead of trying to get him to do what I wanted which was shut the hell up and act like Bobby the Robot across the street. Anyway, he had a fit. Couldn't get a lego piece together or something. I sat with him and listened to him. Muttering to himself, looking for that "just right piece" and really watching him. I started to offer suggestions - the yellow one Joey? no. How about this one?
So now im stealing and buying bottles and boxes of pills of DXM everyday and stocking up and taking it like candy all the time. it felt good to escape the reality i was in. i wanted to forget so i used dxm because it helped me do that. i wanted to forget the person i was. i had low self image. i didnt like myself or my situation in life in general. i hated everything. And the DXM fed me power i wanted.
I am more organized, clean, and even more precise with my business work. Will taking this drug this way with my lifestyle, throughout the semester, lead to an addiction? or is it already becomming a problem? Last year, my GPA without it was a 0.9 and last semester with it was a 3.1. Please address any concerns that may help me out with my question! Much appreciated!
The second time I was taking depakote, lexapro, and ritalin- dosage of lexapro was increased and within hours reaction started.
He is 11 and takes only Vyvanse 30 mg. I am planning on taking him off of the Vyvanse in the summer and trying L-Theasine which is a natural vitamin. The doctors and teachers did not listen to what we want for our child, so I had to take matters into my own hands. Meds have caused more problems than actually helping him. He used to be such an outgoing little boy and now is fearful, shy, backward, and always worried about what people think of him.

Unfortunatly as in my case and many I have heard it gets worse as they get older on top of the disorder you have hormones and what not. My 12 yr old is fairly uncontrollable and he is on vyvanse (sp.) for the hyperactivity and risperdal for mood swings doesbt seem to be helping much these days, our house is in constant turmoil because of his mood. I feel for you and I know his brother does too, he gets the your stupid, we all get the I hate you and you ruin my life bit.
It’s such an unintentional addiction for the people that start taking it , and these people are the naive sweet and innocent, who are made to believe by society that we need to transform our lives to live up to a certain social standards, or ideals. These are also the people that are being suckered into the addiction by our nation’s ******* government’s lack of drug regulation.
This program works miracles so please, think positive and have no fear. My husband and I got clean and sober together in 99. Anything and everything is possible in recovery. God Bless you son.
I have talked to him and prayed with him (we pray together and read a story every single night without fail). I have shared how disappointed and embarrassed I am by him. He lies constantly. he omits the truth I should say. If the teachers don't tell me what is going on, I have no clue. he know this and uses it to his advantage. I am so sick of the phone calls and emails home. I have never heard anything positive about my son from his school. Never. I dread looking at the caller ID.
Two years ago I actually had a period for 34 days, it would be incredibly heavy like normal for a few days, and then lighten for a few and continue switching back and forth. That was definitely scary, but was fixed with taking two birth control pills a day. I am no longer on birth control, but I'm thinking that I may start to lighten up my periods.
I am taking 75mg. of topamax and also taking Zoloft and Verapamil for migraines. I am not loosing any weight. I am so frustrated because I feel that I'm the only one that's not losing. Does anyone think it's because of the other drugs I'm taking? Next week I go to 100mg.
30 (most days) she takes her bag and goes to sit in the Teacher's bathroom for 15 Min. This doesn't always happen as she doesn't want to miss math class...how do you counter that? This week she's been clean during the days and the soiling seems to now be happening in the middle of the night while she's sleeping. I'm contemplating giving her some "magic" chocolate (ex lax) this weekend. She hasn't had in quite sometime.
LastModified=4675511684816689090 The only thing is that when I do the probiotics, I want to do about 5,000 Billion a day because I've been taking a lot and it's not doing anything. So I want to make sure my candida is under control, and have treated possible H. Pylori (with mastic gum), probiotics last because I will be buying hundreds of dollars of probiotics. I am glad I have you guys to talk to because you give me hope. It is hard, but we will put this puzzle together!
