Lysine isnt proven to be effective. Valtrex is more than enough. Stop taking it and see what happens.

m taking 1000mg lysine everyday. Will lysine affect the blood test result of hsv type 1? Do i need to stop taking it to test positive?

Also, does Valtrex or Lysine cause yeast? Can too much Lysine cause an outbreak? If 500 mg of Valtrex reduces transmission by 50%, then does 1 mg per day suppressive reduce it more? I have HSV2.

I have read over and over on this forum that taking lysine does not work, but I do not agree. I was diagnosed with both HSV 1 and 2, but at that point I had never had a breakout, so the doctor did not prescribe meds. Not long after being diagnosed, i started getting that tingling feeling above my lip and on my face up to my eye. I started freaking ou . I wanted to be able to take something, ANYTHING, to prevent a breakout, not just sit around and wait for a breakout happen.

t have the money to afford the drug and secondly I have been taking lysine and zinc as a supplement. My question to you is do you think these supplements will work almost as good a the valtrex itself? I've only had one other outbreak other than my first.

If you are looking to reduce transmission to partners, the only known ways to reduce that are to use antivirals (Valtrex, acyclovir, famvir) and condoms, along with avoiding sexual activity when you have any symptoms. If you are looking to reduce outbreaks, studies are mixed for this. there are no long term side effects to taking the medication. Her smoking will do far more harm to her than valtrex ever could in the long run. Your risk of contracting hsv2 from her is overall very low to begin with. Suppressive therapy just puts the odds more and more in her favor.

I have questions about taking Rhus toxicodendron...usually taken when herpes burn and itch intensely, Arsenicum... sores that burn severly and feel better with applications and warmth, Mercurius vivus..sores that itch, exude pus, form a crust and are accompanied by swelling of the lymph nodes in the groin, Sepia...itchy herpes with pain that strecthes up into the vagina, Urtica Urens...remedy (stinging nettle) made as tea and used as a wet dressing or just drinking two to three cups daily.

These generally heal up pretty quickly and I am not taking Valtrex any longer but taking Lysine instead. Why is it that I seem to be more sensitive now and having these minor outbreaks? Admittedly I am very distressed about having HSV and having a hard time coping (and I also smoke more ) but is it normal to get more outbreaks now (minor or otherwise) and if so why did I not get these outbreaks when I first contracted HSV? I guess I am wondering if it really reduces the viral shedding (What is the difference between shedding and an outbrea anyway) or transmission to an uninfected partner? What about L-Lysine and something about kelp that helps to reduce it too. I guess I am just confused since I dont know what an outbreak really is! Sometimes I forget that I have this....

t treat with valtrex, they do turn to blisters, but I start taking the valtrex right away and it stay red bumps to scabs. Still freaking a bit but there was a few seconds from touch to touch.

I started going heavy on the Lysine and taking my valtrex (generic brand). I keep watching to see any tears or bumps and nothing yet. I am going to order Lysine liquid today bc I almost choke every time I take those pills and I cut them in half.

Just in case, my provider put me on Valtrex and a very annoying cream that make my lip sweat. I am also using beeswax, l-lysine ointment and taking a l-lysine supplement desperate to decrease these symptoms. I also kissed a man when it seemed like my lips were at a stage when my lips were just chapped. I felt the next day it was all gone, then the sun exposure. Based on looking at the pictures I saw online, didn't have bright red lesions and oozing, ever. Any thoughts?

I have been taking lysine every day to help avoid oral herpes outbreaks, it is also supposed to help decrease healing time and severity of cold sore outbreaks. does this also help limit asymptomatic viral shedding? I am wondering if it can help prevent me spreading it to someone else like Valtrex would do for someone with it genitally thank you.

On the day of the test, I had just got done taking the Valacyclovir for 5 days(that I got online and took on my second, third and fourth outbreak symtoms in April May and July). I had not stopped taking the l-lysine for the whole period as a precaution and to reduce symptoms/outbreaks although its not proven.

So I am currently having my second vaginal breakout. Ive been taking Valtrex and super lysine. It's been 4 days, and it is still there. I have a trip planned in 3 days to go to the river. So I stopped taking it in July. I had an outbreak two weeks later and decided not to use Valtrex. I used lysine and it went away in 7 days. Another two weeks and another outbreak. Another three weeks then another outbreak. I used the Valtrex the third time and outbreak went away. Tingling went away as well. I just had another outbreak and am in the 4th day of Valtrex and the sores and pain are gone but the tingling is still there.

Second outbreak, lesions were gone with 48 hours as I got to take my valtrex when I got the tingle and used the cream. Third outbreak.....valtrex with the tingle and no lesions. Talk to me about how severe this case is? My new partner is HSV clear. I am so worried about infecting him. We use condoms. Caught it from previous partner who had it for ten years and no outbreaks in the last 12 months.

I've posted on here before. I was recently diagnosed and when I was diagnosed I only have a small like sore which the doctor swabbed and came back positive. I was prescribed acycolcir and the small sore went away. A week or so after that I figured out I was having an outbreak and so I started taking the medicine and it didn't seen to help so I went in and she gave me Valtrex to take for 5 days and said my vagina looked okay and that one of the blisters looked like it was healing .
