1474625 tn?1371097079 m hoping that your not going to switch to hydrocodone to replace the tramadol, since you were taking a lot of tramadol. Please remember the amount of tylenol in the medication and don't over medicate. Has your doctor started you with any more epidural injections or anything like that or are you just doing medication? Also have you told your doctor that you have a problem with the tramadol?
Avatar n tn I dont think using 1 drug for getting off another is a good idea but has anyone ever tried using Tramadol to help get off Hydrocodone during withdrawal period? I stopped taking hydro's about 6-8 10/325mg a day and started taking some Tramadol and it seems to help with the withdrawals. I thought that it would ease the symptoms while the opiates get out of my system. Tramadol is not an opiate correct? I was gonna use for a few days and see what happens. Any ideas? THanks.
Avatar m tn I see lots of issues with Tramadol here, but has anyone experienced the same type of withdrawals with hydrocodone? I took it for 3 years because I had three back surgeries during that time and when I came off of it I could not sleep for a week straight. Kind of like an anxiety in my brain or almost a buzzing and could not relax then the sweats and flu like symptons.
Avatar m tn yes i am on day three of detoxing from hydrocodone and am currently taking tramadol bout 150 mg a day and it seems to be helping im not really as sick and am pretty mobile i have also used prayer but was wondering if im going to be in the same boat when the tramadol runs out
Avatar m tn Hey guys, Im new here and wanted some advice. Ive been taking Tramadol and Hydrocodone together for about three months off and on, perscribed of course, then I started reading how bad withdrawals can be from the Tramadol, so I quit taking it cold turkey with little side effects. Now I'm getting ready to quit this Hydrocodone, just a little scared from withdrawal and what to expect. will it be bad after just three months. averaged about 40 mgs. daily.
975183 tn?1251813472 ve only been taking the tramadol for a week. I started weaning myself off the hydrocodone with tramadol- I took my last hydrocodone yesterday at about 11:00am. So when I stop the tramadol, I will have only been taking them for 2 weeks.

Avatar f tn Towards the end of my hydrocodone addiction though I was taking both Tramadol and Hydrocodone. I would take Trams for 2 weeks then switch to Hydros for 2 weeks. I did that for about 1 year before I got on the Methadone. And switching from hydros to trams went smooth, no withdrawals. But switching from trams to hydros was a little rough. I would feel some mild Tramadol withdrawals. That's what led me to the fact that Tramadol is a worse drug to be addicted to with worse withdrawals.
Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I was perscribed Tramadol for my back along with some hydrocodone for my back surgery coming up on May 6th. Then I started reading how awful it is to get off of Tramadol. I never abused it, or got high off of it. Just want to stop before I get in too deep. My question is , will I have withdrawals from 3 months of this drug. I asked my Pharmacist and he said I probably wouldn't due to that it has been 32 hours since I touched a pill.
Avatar f tn Seizures (convulsions) have occurred in some people taking tramadol. You may be more likely to have a seizure while taking tramadol if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting. Take tramadol exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take it in larger doses or for longer than recommended by your doctor.
Avatar m tn Be careful with the Tramadol. It is in fact highly addictive. It is considered a non narcotic, but its dangerous just the same. And the WD coming off of Tramadol is worse than Hydro WD. Trust me...I know people that have been addicted to them....and they are hell to get off of.
Avatar m tn Also have very painful acute prostate infection and been on cipro for a week. Urologist gave me tramadol for pain. Taking 200 mg day. Is this just postponing hydrocodone wd symptoms? Only other symtom legs feel sore and heavy. Don't know if my feeling like sh*t is from wd or infection. Does wd amplify pain from an infection? And how long should 'normal' wd last for someone like me? 6'3". 260 lbs.
13129035 tn?1434039712 30. its now 12:30 and im not craving my medicine like crazy. I mean I am a little but not nearly as bad. I almost feel normal! so im just gonna go with this and try and take less of my tramadol. has this ever happened to anyone??
Avatar n tn Is Tramadol an Opiate and is it stronger then hydrocodone? Anyone with advice concerning this drug HELP.
Avatar f tn Okay..for the past almost 2 years ive been taking hydrocodone, it got up to 6 to 8 pills a day..20mgs at a time, okay, about 5 days ago i went down to 40mgs a day for 4 days and the past two days i went down to 20 mgs a day...my last dose was this morning, i dont have anymore, i want to QUIT.....i take klonopin for anxiety, i have lyrica for anxiety.. i also have a few amptitriptiline's and some tramadol....can anyone tell me if that pretty fast taper will help with the withdrawels...
Avatar f tn GP may not know which meds are OK during pregnancy so please be careful. Please DO NOT start taking tramadol/Ultram if they try giving it to you since they are also opiates and also will cause you baby to be in withdrawals when it is born. (See my blog on tramadol if you are interested). Well, continue to take baths, stretch and try to move as much as possible and see a pain doctor who does cervical epidural shots. They can be very helpful!
Avatar m tn Was going cold turkey from that hydro level a good idea? And taking tramadol now for unreal pain from prostatitis. Would wellbutrin help more with wd?
Avatar f tn Please don't take Tramadol!!! I've been taking it for 6 months and can't get off. Before i started taking it, vicodin worked so great for my pain...now if I take a vicodin it does NOTHING for me because I take such a high dose of trams! with trams like most pain killers, you usually have to continue taking more and more to get it to keep working for you. Some people say it does nothing for their pain but it does help mine.
Avatar f tn I been taking both tramadol and hydrocodone, looking at these forums is scary. Have not taken tramadol for days, but been taking the hydrocodone. Now more and more Hydrocodone. Thought mabey going back to tramadol and leaving the hydros. Now i'm not sure which way to go. I badly want off both. Anyone have any suggestions?
1171652 tn?1264091397 I have been taking whatever mg i could get, 5, 7.5 and 10's of hydrocodone for at least 6 mo. daily. Up to 6000mg. I am 48 hours into withdraw. I WANT to beat this...... I had an script for Ultram from a few months ago and was told if i start taking that it will help with the withdraws. The only thing is the reason i stopped taking them was because of a nauseous feeling and insomnia. What the heck though i have that already!
Avatar m tn Among the drugs you are taking Cymbalta causes memory loss, Pamelor, cyclobenzaprine, nortriptyline, hydrocodone and promethazine cause confusion, Tramadol causes hallucination and together all these drugs can affect your memory. You need a serious revision of your prescription. Please consult your treating doctor. Take care!
Avatar n tn Can i mix tramadol 100mg with hydrocodone 10 mg? I can't get my pain under control and I can't even get out of bed. My husband works all the time and I have a 4 year old son to take care of. This is the 6th day that i haven't gotten out of bed. Someone please help with some advice on mixing tramadol and hydrocodone. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I took 3 at least twice a day. Then, he changed to Tramadol Acetaminophin 37.5 taking 2 every four hours. I had several presecriptions of each. But, I've been taking the Hydrocodone Ibuprohen, 3 pills 2 or 3 times a day....I realized yesterday, the sickness from the addiction is not helping and I want off. This morning, I am barely moving...but I have not taken anything. How long before I feel anything close to normal.
Avatar f tn t personally have any experience with tramadol, but I have seen a lot of others on here tell everyone not to take trams to help with other withdrawals because they also cause withdrawal and it's sometimes worse then if you just went off the hydrocodone ct.
Avatar f tn I chose to get off it after getting a warning letter from my pharmacist about tramadol interacting with it. I did an extremely slow decrease with it, alternating nights with half-doses, then taking it two nights, miss one, then every other, then every 2 days, etc. . . It took months. But it was easy since I wasn't taking it as a response to pain. With the Lortab, I am trying to do the same thing - just take it on a schedule without regard to my pain and deal with the pain in other ways.
Avatar m tn With that said, I do prefer to not be completely miserable being that my addiction is not really known to others I live with. So is Tramadol (50 Mg) a viable option to help with the withdrawal symptoms? I read somewhere else to take 4-6 the first 4-5 days and then taper down to 2-4 days 6-10 Day 11 only take them as needed.
Avatar f tn Once took 40 Norco in 14 hours. And I can tell you Tramadol is Far more dangerous to get involved with! The withdrawals are worse than Heroin, many many people have said. I have had withdrawals from Methadone, and I can tell you Tramadol is just as bad. Tramadol is bad news, not to start is the best idea! I'd rather withdrawal from hydrocodone, it is a picnic compared to coming off Tramadol!
