ve tried all three -- Neurontin, Topamax, and Cymabalta -- but after looking at the information for particularily the Cymbalta, I am wondering if I just have a med conflict. I have been taking Zoloft and Trazodone for over 14 years -- both are SSRIs and these 3 drugs all seem to affect serotonin absorption/dispersal.
I am actually trying taking myself off the Lyrica right now, going down to just the Zoloft, Trazodone, and birth control.

Probably not. But are you suffering from depression, or just migraines? Migraines can be treated in many ways, but taking antidepressants isn't one of them. So is your problems just migraines or more than that?
Hello. The shakiness could be a side effect, if it continues or becomes especially troubling. As far as alcohol use, be VERY careful. Most antidepressants carry a warning against mixing with alcohol as in some people the combination can be unpredictable. This is probably more an exception than the rule, but I had an episode many years ago in which I drank on prozac and became violently agitated.
I started taking Topamax 1 1/2 years ago for my headaches and to my surprise it help my bulimia significally. I take 50mg in the morning and 50mg at night and has really made a huge difference for ME. Is this normal?? Why is it helping me? I have not said a word to my doctor about it helping the bulimia as she and everyone else is unaware of my problem with bulimia.
Oh and vistaril too.
I found out that topamax can lead to these side effects. however, I have gradually gone off the topamax and have quit taking it for approximately 4 - 5 days. Today I am still stiff (shoulders, knee, wrist and ankles) and my ankles are swollen. Do you think this is still a side effect of Topamax in my system?
Thank you for your response and I am really sorry to hear how you came to be taking topamax. My father retired from the military, I won't venture to say I understand what you've gone thru but I can empathize with it.
Thankfully, the pain I am in while consistent is not as bad as what you are experiencing. It can spike to a 10 and above but mostly its about a 4 or 5 and below unless I over extend myself.
celexa,zoloft,paxil, just to name a few. He was also given midrine and perscribed topamax but was so expensive we were unable to purchase it and after some of the things I've read about the eye problems I'm not sure if I want him to try it. He did have an MRI but there were no signs of tumors and such. Does anyone have any suggestions? He does take Hydrocodone for the pain but it barely takes the edge off.
I have been taking zoloft (100mg daily) for depression for about nine years. The only times I was not taking zoloft is during my second and third pregnancies (and, boy, it was tough). Zoloft has changed my life - and my family's happiness.
Just recently I was also diagnosed with ADD. My doc gave me adderall 10mg IR to try. The first day was wonderful - I was able to slow down and focus and much of the frantic feelings I normall have were gone.
I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??
Wellbutrin 75 mg once per day, Topamax 25 mg twice per day (and Ativan 0.5 mg twice per day as needed, but that doesn't have anything to do with weight loss :p). I got on my scale at home yesterday, October 12, just because I was curious, and it said I was already at 126.
How much more weight do you think I can expect to lose, and how quickly do you think it will happen? Because I certainly didn't expect what happened so far.
I am 6 mos post Arnold Chiari decompression surgery and taking 75mg of Topamax daily for headaches. Recently, I am experiencing weakness in my legs as though I have no control over them. I am wondering if anyone else feels this way with Arnold Chiari w/Cervical Syrinx or could it be the side effects of the Topamax. I also have balance and vertigo issues.
I just logged on here at 3 am to see if anyone else had these symptoms with this drug. my legs and arms are numb and like needles and pins, I have diahrrea and nausa every day and food dosen't tast good at all. I itch all over which is keeping me awake. I am going to stop taking it. can't call the doc till monday, but can't stand this either. good luck to you.
