taking tamiflu while pregnant

Yes I took tamiflu when I was pregnant with my son it's on the lowest scale for harming you or the baby. In other words its safe.

I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and just found out I have the flu. My OB put me on Tamiflu but my primary said she wasn't sure about it. Has anyone been on this while pregnant? I'm worried it's going to hurt the baby. Also it did get the flu vaccine, I was only a couple weeks pregnant so I didn't know but I'm a little mad they push a vaccine that obviously doesn't work.

30 weeks pregnant, has anyone ever took tamiflu while pregnant? Any side affects to you or your child after birth?

So I've super sick since yesterday went in to the er tonight and was told i have the h1n1 infuenza they told me i have to be put on medication wich is tamiflu but i am so scared for my baby I'm am 31 weeks pregnant and have two other kids has anyone experience this while pregnant and took that medication was it safe for baby?

Tamiflu is in no way safe during pregnancy. The risks outweigh the benefits I'm pretty sure.its class c. I had flu last January 7 months pregnant and they couldn't give me anything. But tell me to stay hydrated!!

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my 3RD baby. I came down with a cold on Thursday. My cough is horrible and I have been running fevers a lot. I called my OB and she called in a RX for tamiflu. I've never been on it before but she assured me that it was safe. She said my cough may turn into pneumonia or bronchitis and that may be worse then taking the meds. I never went thru this with my boys so I'm a little unsure. I did research and it seems safe. What are others opinion on this.

Have any of you had the flu while pregnant? I have it now and I'm miserable. I think I got it from my 9th grader, he had it last week.

All they can tell me is that their recommendation for pregnant women, especially in the third trimester, is to take Tamiflu even without symptoms if there has been exposure but that it is my decision. I just cannot decide which way to go but I'm leaning towards not taking the Tamiflu. However, if I get very sick, I will regret that decision as well. UGH...

My bf got it and while he was being seen in the ER they had me be seen also and perscribed tamiflu. Ive heard pregnant women can get the flu shot but id rather not :/ flu passed thru me and so far baby boy is healthy. 5 weeks left til hes here!

So I spoke with my doctor today and she said it's not harmful to the baby but she also said that as soon as I feel better to stop taking it...

i was about 7 weeks pregnant and went to the ER,they said they werent sure if i had the swine flu or flu but not sure so they treated me for the swine flu anyways because i was pregnant,they gave me tamiflu....i wanted to know if there was any risks to the baby from having the flu or from the tamiflu?

My sons and husband had the H1n1 last week, and I called my Dr right away and got on Tamiflu, which prevented me from getting sick at all. Trust me, I was very unsure about taking the Tamiflu, but I felt it was better than ending up very sick or dead. I still worry about what adverse effects the drug might have on my unborn baby.

I'm stuck in bed with flu symptoms been trying to get as much Vitamin C as I possibly can and sweat it out with heat bc I don't want to take any meds while I'm pregnant

If the doctor was aware you were pregnant they wouldn't assign anything that is harmful for the baby. Taking tamiflu as a preventative measure will cause less harm than the actual flu would. I would talk to a pharmacist though, if it's just a cough then they might be able to point you in the direction of the safest cough medicine. I know lemon and honey always help with my sore throat and coughs. But that might not help depending on how bad the cough is.

Thanks for the input. I did have the shot a couple months ago that was supposed to cover all types. So did Lucas. He has to have one every year because of his cancer. His oncologist indicated that this is a strain that isn't covered, but said that since he had the shot his symptoms shouldn't be quite as bad. He also prescribed Tamiflu for him but it had to be compounded and cost $175!!!!!!

Have you ever had the flu pregnant and how did it effect you and the baby? Also what did you take to treat it my Primary Dr. Wants me to take Tamiflu and im not comfortable with it.

My husband and MIL had the flu over Christmas, but I had a flu shot and was fine. You can take Tamiflu while pregnant if you do get the flu.

told us that he was not eleigible to recieve a prescription for Tamiflu. Where can I find any federal or state restictions for eleigibility.

it was too late for Tamiflu) and he was good to go. Tamiflu is very expensive and from what I have heard time, rest, and fluids unfortuantely.

I just got out of the hospital last week after getting a virus and being dehydrated, and not even two days later my hubby started coughing and running a fever, the minute the fever started I got a bag and packed my stuff and went to my moms till he got to a doc. My doctor started me on tamiflu when he got his results back just to be safe so I dont get it!!!! Also I am not allowed to go around my husband for 5-7 days.

I had the same symptoms your having and I went to the emergency room cause its not okay to chills and have a fever while pregnant , well I ended up having the flu . The prescribed me this medicine called " tamiflu " & told me to take Tylenol with less strength but I would take mine every 6 hrs.
