suboxone

Avatar n tn Is it OK for an oxy abuser to take xanax with suboxone to calm down anger and short temperment ?
Avatar f tn Hello everyone! I have been taking suboxone for almost 2 years as well as xanax for extreme anxiety, I am now 20 weeks pregnant and I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing for my baby.
Avatar m tn Ive been taking 5-6 750mg vicoden for 2 years and 1 1/2mg of xanax for about 5 yrs.. I have severe back pain and severe anxiety. I have recently noticed rapid weight loss and no apetite. Ive lost about 20lbs in a couple months and a pound daily. I am now concerned about liver problems.. history of kidney stones so i thought the pain was kidney stone related, but more now points to liver. I feel I need to stop tonight, and really scared for my health. im 26 yrs old with a family of 4.
Avatar f tn He took 16 mg of Suboxone and was taking 5 mg Xanax at the same time. He got to the point that I expected I would find him dead one day when I returned from work because he had developed Sleep Apnea and COPD during this time and looked pale, bloated and ill. On 1/26/10 he was admitted to a program to take him off the Suboxone. Initially they tried to take him off the Suboxone and Xanax at the same time.
Avatar f tn Why in the world have you been on suboxone for 3 years? And why are you taking Xanax while you are on Subs? Taking benzodiazepines with opiate drugs is a dangerous thing to do. That combo can cause severe respiratory depression and in some cases- especially with Buprenorphine- a reaction resulting in voluntary respiratory failure.
Avatar m tn I have around 2 weeks to come off xanax, or this clinic is gonna stop prescribing Suboxone, i been taking suboxone and xanax for 3 years, the xanax for 20 years. The clinic that was prescribing the suboxone shut down, and i got referral to this clinic that does not take anybody on benzo's {Klonopin..xanax } he's been nothing but supportive..he wanted me to come off in 3 weeks, i couldnt do it, so i try again, and fail, it's been 2 months trying to kick the xanax...
Avatar f tn I love it for sleep but hate it for everything else. I dumped them out. I still have the xanax. Now I just end up taking more xanax to sleep. So- time to call the doc and get a taper plan. Benadryl works if I take a lot of them and then I feel crappy in the morning.
Avatar n tn I'd echo everything that MSDelight said & asked. I'd also add that increasing your dose of Subs will not result in less anxiety or more euphoria (there's a ceiling dose & you're past it). However, it will most likely exacerbate some of the nasty side effects that folks experience @ high doses of Subs. I'd also echo pillguy's question about the Xanax. It's contra-indicated with subs.
Avatar f tn I may not be the best guy to talk with about pills because they were not my drug of choice, but i do know xanax w/d's are horrible and if taking a lot should not be c/t. Please be careful with suboxone, do your research, you will get a lot of feedback from others here on sub. Stick around and come up with a plan to stay clean. Since he will understand I think it's best you tell him. You are lucky to get support and have him helping you.
Avatar f tn I asked this question not so long ago, but does subutex/suboxone make benzodiazepines less effective. I know you are not supposed to take it together, but it was prescribed by my neurologist. It is something I noticed.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone out there experienced taking Suboxone as a substitute for an antidepressent. I know if I were stupid enough to start taking Lortab again I would probably start to feel better mentally because they always helped me push things that I worry about to the back of my mind. I also think the Suboxone is helping do the same sort of thing but with not as big of an impact. I have bad dreams, feel terrible in the mornings, and always need xanax or ambien, or both to sleep well.
Avatar f tn 25mg of xanax for a short time and it was fine. The danger with xanax and suboxone is when the xanax is abused and taken at much higher doses, so I would not recommend doing that. I guess the question I would ask is do you really want to be clean? If so, keep working with your doctor, follow his instructions and take the subutex as directed - stay away from the other pills. Get some other support through an NA meeting or from others on this site.
Avatar f tn But, I was VERY concerned to see the OP talk about a significantly high daily dose of Sub, along with 3 mg of Xanax in 3 hours...with the concern of her taking more. Not to mention that she had taken Ultrams as well. YOUCH! I just hope that she was able to read the thread....before she took any more and found herself in a bad way! I'm surprised that she didn't already know that mixing the two was a big NO-NO! MOST Sub docs and Sub programs stress that over and over.
Avatar m tn The anxiety may not be from the Suboxone. I suggest that you post in the Anxiety Community for one and speak with your prescribing doctor. It is possible that your medication may need to be adjusted. I hope this all works out for you.
Avatar m tn I would really appreciate it if someone could try to help me figure out what's going on with me right now. I had a bad vicodin addiction for about a year, detoxed, relapsed and detoxed numerous times over the following year, and over the last 2 months I've been taking about 5 norcos a day on average. I also take soma for my neck and xanax for anxiety/sleep. I ran out of norcos but didn't care b/c i wanted to detox anyway.
Avatar n tn What is your husband's daily doseage of Xanax? Is that a total of 10mg a day of Xanax or 30mg. How long has he been taking the Xanax? Benzo's are a whole nother animal of addiction and not many know how to help you get off the proper way. Are you monitoring his blood pressure? I would like to help in any way. I've been/am there and had to do all the research myself. I've been written off by 3 neurologists. The damage from the benzo's are simply immeasurable.
Avatar m tn I'm a 28 year old executive priofessional who quit my job at eh end of Oct. I've been addicted to one thing or another basically my whole life. I've smoked weed for the majority of my life some parts more than others. My colllege years were a little worste but I don't see that as being a bif isue. I'am currently addicted to painkillers and I know that it is becoming a serious problem. I'm always been an insomniac and at times don't sleep at all.
Avatar n tn My husband is trying to detox with suboxone and we need to know if he can take it safely. Also, the suboxone doesn't seem to be taking away his withdrawls, he is antsy, has rls, hot and cold, sneezing, nauseaus, very very sick. He has been taking 24-32mg of suboxone and I thought that was a really high dose. He was on about 900mg of oxycodone a day, so maybe that has something to do with it? Anyone please help! Thank you so much in advance!
Avatar f tn I've been taking suboxone for a little over 2 years now and am about to prepare for my wean. I've also been on 4 mg of Xanax for about 6 months now (sometimes a little more) to help me sleep while weaning on the sub. I read a post earlier that coming off Xanax is much worse than suboxone which I find really really hard to believe as I've tried to come off suboxone before and felt worse than I've ever felt in my life with the w/d symptoms. So, it didn't work out.
Avatar m tn You're already on methadone and you really can't begin SUBOXONE until you're down to at least 30mg per day of methadone; last I knew. When you see the doctor tomorrow, tell him you prefer to taper the methadone...if that's what you truly want. But as I said, you need to taper down to 30 mg anyway and that's well documented.
Avatar f tn I recently relapsed using 30mg of oxycodone a day for the last month and started taking suboxone today. I am wondering if taking the suboxen for a week will be fine by taking a whole i belive 8mg the orange one, then half tomorrow, then a qauter does anyone know i do not want to take this forever I am also prescribed to xanax for my aniexty which does not help me it doesnt last long.
563594 tn?1309583132 t tried it yet, I strongly recommend it. Not sure if I recommend taking 9mgs, like I do sometimes, start with 3mg or 6mg and see if that works for you. Thank god someone suggested it to me, I don't think I would've had any rest for the last 48 days without it. thank you melatonin!!!!! :) hope everyone is well!!
Avatar f tn Again, I would be shocked to find out that the Suboxone doctor was okay with the Xanax, especially at such a significant daily dose. Glad you found us!!
Avatar m tn Well a little over 2 months ago I started having this weird tight feeling in my chest along with a racing heart and high blood pressure. I went to a doctor and was prescribed xanax and a beta blocker. After taking the xanax I found it took away those feelings, and never took the beta blocker. So being an addict I was originally prescribed 90 .5mg 3x a day, with one refill. Well before i knew it i had gone through like 150 pills, taking anywhere from 2 - sometimes 3.5mgs a day.
Avatar n tn Been on box for over 2yrs from a high of 16mg a day to now down to 10 as i slowly taper to get off them. taking benzos (clonopin, xanax, ativan) with box is and has been done. if you are asking because you got a bunch of each off the street and don't want to kill yourself, good call. too much of both will severely depress your respiratory system and if you visit suboxone's website, there is documented instances of COMA AND DEATH associated with taking suboxone and benzodiazepenes.
Avatar n tn 5 gram heroin habit per day and I used Kratom first for withdrawals (along with Xanax) then started taking small doses of Subutex. If the Kratom will work whilst taking subs, I would like to try that. I can tell you this was probably the best detox I've done (I've done it a fair few times with just Subutex; sometimes with Xanax as well). The Kratom really seemed to make the difference. But anyway, can anyone help answer my question? Thanks in advance!
