Taking suboxone with tramadol

Common Questions and Answers about Taking suboxone with tramadol

Avatar m tn with the film, it's tough to give exact dosage but I would guess about .25 - .30 per day. Today is day 5 with no suboxone, and day 1 with no tramadol. Course... the tramadol was only a 4 day ordeal and I learned more about it so stopped taking immediately. Any idea as to how long this lethargy will drag on? I'm self employed and I need to work.
Avatar n tn what can i do to help with the suboxone leg shakes...
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if tramadol is good to help with withdrawals of Lortabs? I don't know if it's one evil against another or it's a good idea to take one or two to help? Also, I've heard you can't take them at the same time. I don't remember why or how I heard that. Just wondering how long the Lortabs would have to be out of your system before you take a tramadol... Again, I really don't know if it's even a good idea to take one here and there to help.
1462531 tn?1287850353 Methadone, suboxone, tramadol. I pray that you and your lady get clean and stay clean without the use of any drug, especially a maintenance drug. If you guys really want to be clean, and I think you do, then stop the drugs. Stop trying to take one drug to get off of another drug because this can, and will, go on for a long time. The pharmaceutical companies are not going to stop making the stuff so it is up to you guys to stop the madness.
Avatar f tn Hi. I have been taking 200mg of tramadol everyday for a year for back pain, and I was wondering is this a lot? And how bad will the withdrawal be on this dosage? Thanks for ur time!!
Avatar n tn I've seen some treatment centers advertise that they use tramadol to help with opiate withdrawal, yet I've also read that taking tramadol during opiate withdrawal can INCREASE withdrawal symptoms. Can someone set me straight on this? Thanks in advance.
673432 tn?1226031779 I too am suffering a major addiction from tramadol. I was taking them for a year and in the end was taking as many as 40 a day. This is my first real day tram-free and I feel like sh*&. Instead of being in bed sleeping with my husband and son, I am awake sweating, and nauseaus. I did not suffer from grand mal seizures however, I did take so many that I would vomit.
147172 tn?1226761778 I am going to a dr to prescribe me suboxone next week but in the meantime I was wondering if I were to take the tramadol, could that help with my withdrawal symptoms? Thanks......
348415 tn?1205126863 I assume you have explored these with your doctor? tramadol affects some and not others in terms of having a withdrawal syndrome. Remember "addiction" and physical dependence are different things. Addiction is pyschological craving, physical dependence in when you get symptoms when you withdrawal. Everyone gets physical dependence with certain drugs, such as opioids, whereas only a few people get addicted.
Avatar n tn Hello Andrew, I'm sure you have probably received replies to your posting by now, but I thought I should let you know about my experience with Ultram (tramadol). I was taking Ultram for about 6 months, right after its introduction, for lower back pain from 2 spinal surgeries. During this time, I was also suffering from depression. I was prescribed elevil (tricyclic antidepressant) along with Ultram. These two meds didn't mix!
1349329 tn?1276988802 I feel groggy today, but the Anxiety is not as bad as with the tramadol. I'm not taking enough Vicodin to get "high," but just to take the edge off. I'm also continuing to take my supplements and am keeping things quiet so I don't get more stressed out. I know that in a month the worst should be over, and I will start feeling better.
Avatar m tn Hi Avisg, It all relative, actually. The amount of tramadol I was taking was way more potent than the amount of suboxone I am taking so its a big step down. It just depends on how much your taking of each each med. Its not always that sub is stronger than tramadol, just depends on dosage of each. How do you know so much about suboxone? Just curious if you've ever been on it or just read about it on the web? I am in therapy and support groups so I feel Im in a great place right now.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately I was unable to find any info on treating tramadol addiction with sub. I saw a bunch of studies comparing the treatment of addiction with tramadol vs. sub. I didn't look at the results but I didn't realize it was even an option. Anyway, as for the price. There may be a way to get the meds for free (see my profile for the link). Typical dr's fees around here (Western Washington State) is $300 for the initial consultation appt then $100 for each monthly visit after that.
Avatar f tn I am going on the suboxone treatment for my addiction tomorrow, I was just wondering if taking tramadol would be bad. I understand I have to be in w/d's but since tramadol is not a narc' would the same apply? Please someone answer soon, haveing a lot of trouble just being at the computer, thanks.
Avatar n tn i substituted tramadol for the disconmfort and Now cannot stop taking that! i am thinking i should be on suboxone after all??? My sponsor says no, just use her and the program. I have access to tramadol, and I want to be CLEAN again! I tried to do Thomas 's recipe but an't cut back! yet. I hat withdrawals and I can't handle athe anxiety part. I HAVE to go to work but o feel like checking into a motel by myself and detoxing so my family won't see me go through this.
222369 tn?1274478235 This is mostly for my own curiosity, but others may benefit. Is suboxone available for tramadol, Ultram, Ultracet addiction? I know it's not seen as an opiate in the general sense, but we all know it acts like one. Just curious..
Avatar f tn Is there any risk of detox seizures, or will suboxone replace the same receptors that Ultram filled? Anyone with experience switching from Ultram to suboxone, please let me know how it was. Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have decided to stop taking the tramadol i had a reality check 2 days ago and it was my rock bottom. I take about 20 50mg pills a day. I will have a full script on the 24th of 180 so I was wondering is there a way to taper with just those? Otherwise I have an appointment with a doctor tomorrow to discuss a suboxone taper program to get off the tramadol.
Avatar n tn How long should I wait before taking my suboxone if I took tramadol 12 hours ago? I know other opiates you should wait 36-48 hours, but what about tramadol? I'm so impatient that I may just take the suboxone right now and find out for myself. Scary! If my arms and legs start going insane (more than they already are) I'll be back to let everyone know not to ever take suboxone so soon after taking tramadol.
Avatar m tn So right now the only thing i take is suboxone and finding out this is really hard to get off. Can i with help off vicoprofen 7.5/325 get off suboxone?. Not shure if i posted this in the right place. Also the worst med i been on was tramadol had severe whidrawals for 1 month.
Avatar f tn keep in mind that suboxone is a long term treatment, it is not something you can walk away from without suffering great pain in my experience suboxone wd was harder than my actual drug of choice it actually took longer too but i wasnt ready to give up a chemical peace of mind, so it served its purpose, i am asuming you are on here for a family member, its really their choice how long they take the suboxone the problem i see with rehab doctors sending patients home with a suboxone prescription is
1055085 tn?1254110582 Worried does state a lot of facts above, but people here are pretty much against suboxone because it is promoted as the easy way to detox with no w/d. Not true, esspecially if taken long term. I took it for 4 years and could not taper off on my own, had to do a medical detox. Only you can make the determination if you need to stay on it longer. If you feel like you are going to relapse, then don't stop taking it.
Avatar n tn I am currently on my fourth week with suboxone. I am taking two 8mgs twice daily. suboxone is the closest thing to miracle for opiate addictions. For the past two years I have been taking oxy's and Heroin everyday. The withdrawals were terrible, after several attempts at trying to use methods to quit at home Ive given up. I have used up every medical clinic and urgent care in southern Wisconsin, i decided to let the parents know and go for treatment.
307401 tn?1194835748 I didn't get a buzz on the percs other than pain relief, So it was back on with my life and suboxone. As I said suboxone is only a partial opioid antagonist.
Avatar m tn I am just wondering if it is safe to take some Ultram hours after taking my daily suboxone? I started taking suboxone for pain, not for addiction, as I wasn't addicted to anything when I started the program. At night, my pain is terrible! I really need something stronger than Advil.
Avatar n tn I did some research on the internet and found out this was relatively common with suboxone withdrawal even at the slowest taper. So.... instead of taking my life I went to the emergency room and asked for tramadol as I was hoping and praying it would ease the suffering but yet keep me away from Norco. By the grace of god it did save my life, but I understand I have traded my suffering for another. I have been taking 3 to 4 of the 50mg per day for 8 days now.
Avatar f tn I want to try suboxone. I have an appt on Tues to get a script. I am currently on 50mg Norco, 150-300mg tramadol (usually 150) and 1-2mg Xanax per day. I was on 450mg tramadol for 10 yrs (150mg day previous five years). Norco escalated up but daily last two years (sporadic before that) hence why I dropped down tramadol. Xanax for 3-4 years. So..with those meds will the doctor give me suboxone? Will he take me off both Norco and Tram at same time (my hope)? Also..
Avatar n tn Please do not use suboxone to stop something like tramadol. I used suboxone 2 years ago to help w/d's from a 10 a day perc habbit. The suboxone w/d's were horrible and i tapered the right way. The w/d's go on for weeks fron SUB. I quit cold turkey (percs) 21 days ago and w/d only lasted 5 days. I do not know what else to say.
