I have been searching for answers everywhere but i was never have an accurate answer. i never wanna ask my subs doctor because it's worthless and no nothing except writing subs script.
Avatar f tn Has any one had experience with taking suboxone SHORT TERM, (4 days) for withdrawal symptoms from tramadol. I used suboxone to help with the withdrawal symptoms of oxicodone over a year ago. It helped alot. They got me through that ring of fire. But I was perscribed tramadol over a month ago for back pain from an injury @ work. I no longer have the pain, all healed up, but I can not make it through the day with out the tramadole.
Avatar f tn A couple of times I could tell one might be coming and a couple of times - nothing - I was just feeling a 'buzz' off the tramadol (like usual after taking it) then next thing I knew I was in the back of an ambulance. Don't want to scare you but the jaw clenching can be a pre-seizure sign. I've noticed that before one.
1081265 tn?1256138365 Suboxone poses a much more lengthly withdrawal than does Tramadol. It would not be wise to begin Suboxone and I hope you haven't... Also, the main reason you don't want to quit Tramadol cold turkey is because of the high risk of seizures... Good luck.
Avatar f tn I am going on the suboxone treatment for my addiction tomorrow, I was just wondering if taking tramadol would be bad. I understand I have to be in w/d's but since tramadol is not a narc' would the same apply? Please someone answer soon, haveing a lot of trouble just being at the computer, thanks.
Avatar n tn How long should I wait before taking my suboxone if I took tramadol 12 hours ago? I know other opiates you should wait 36-48 hours, but what about tramadol? I'm so impatient that I may just take the Suboxone right now and find out for myself. Scary! If my arms and legs start going insane (more than they already are) I'll be back to let everyone know not to ever take Suboxone so soon after taking Tramadol.
Avatar m tn ve called every treatment center in my area that treats opiod dependence with suboxone. When I say I need treatment for tramadol dependecy they tell me tramadol is not an opiate and they don't treat for it. I reallu need to find some help. I've been tapering off but I know I'm gonna need some extra help. Does anyone know if there is another route I can go to get suboxone?
Avatar f tn Hi. I hope this forum is still active. I and my husband are both addicted to Tramadol. It happened when I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and my husband with multiple sclerosis about 2 years ago. We want to stop this horrible drug; it is taking over our lives. It’s not helping us with the pain, we just taking it so to not get the bad withdrawal symptoms. I have appointment with my doctor June 6, I want to tell him about Suboxone. Anyone has used suboxone to help with withdrawal symptoms?
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum! I read your post and did a search for "Suboxone for tramadol addiction" and came up with alots of posts. Some say yes, some say no. I didn't read all the posts though. You may want to do a search on this and read more. But someone will be on soon that can really help. Also you can go to Suboxone.com, locate a doctor near you and ask them directly. Which ever way you choose to get clean, just get clean. And we're all here to help you.
Avatar f tn I figured that since I’m on suboxone, it would’ve just thrown the tramadol off and I would’ve been fine to take it, but wasn’t brave enough to find out and wasn’t able to find any answer online.
Avatar m tn It would take an ungodly amount of even a stronger opiate or narcotic to override it. I suggest taking something OTC and asking the doctor who prescribed you the suboxone what you should do for pain management because I'm sure you don't want to ruin your progress.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome! How much tramadol are you taking a day? That needs to be tapered down due to the possibility of seizures. Are you getting them from a doctor?
Avatar f tn I have been off Suboxone for 10 days and taking 150 mg of Tramadol per day for the past 5 days. I thought I was starting to feel better but now am just still so sick. I have 2 children to take care of one who is an infant. I feel like giving up..... Is the tramadol prolonging my withdrawl symptoms? Should I stop? Or should I just call my Dr. and go back on Suboxone but less mg. I was taking 4 mg of Suboxone per day. I don't know if I can go on like this. How long until I feel better?
Avatar f tn Suppose wait like 72 hours befire taking opioid with suboxone cause you withdrawl a day or so cause of the blocker but tramadol isint really a narcotic and I've took those plenty times ontop my sub when I used them it didn't bother me like oxys WILL but sub is I like methadone you can't start back over from day one while your off the drug compleyly how many days are you off of it?!
621290 tn?1226720261 Please no, don't take Tramadol at all. It is a very dangerous, very addictive drug with some of the worst withdrawals of any drug. And you are on 16mg of Sub per day? Without a doubt, don't take the Tramadol. Really, do yourself a favor and never touch it. And get off the sub as fast as you can.
Avatar m tn I would almost rather pump myself up mentally and just take the suboxone to immediately push all the DHC off the receptors and deal with the physical withdrawal right away then go through it gradually over 5 days. One contradiction I do see is that even though the sub wiped the DHC off the receptors, it doesn't mean that they are clean or your body is free of opiates, the bupe is actually filling the receptors in order to block other opiates.
Avatar m tn Today is day 5 with no suboxone, and day 1 with no Tramadol. Course... the tramadol was only a 4 day ordeal and I learned more about it so stopped taking immediately. Any idea as to how long this lethargy will drag on? I'm self employed and I need to work.
290532 tn?1308136770 Well, I just met with the Therapist and like I said, I meet with the Doc on June 8th and that's when I'm supposed to start Sub. I guess I'm not entirely sure the reason for it. My entire reason for staying on Tram is fear of withdrawl, Super Fear! I'm not sure if I can stick to the taper and I have no one to help me taper and watch out for me.
Avatar f tn I have 6 pills left, and EVERYTHING I have read says that Ultram and Suboxone are prescribed together, and that taking Suboxone too soon after Ultram WILL NOT throw you into precipitated withdrawal. But of course there is always the one commentor who says "of course it will, Ultram is an opiate, blah blah blah." So I'm scared to death I'll make it worse. I was just hoping that giving my body a little bit of Serotonin here and there will take away the zaps. Any thoughts?
Avatar m tn But if you legitimately cannot sleep during detox, and are taking it only for that, that is different. And taking it only as prescribed of course.
Avatar f tn ga is right most doctors will not prcribe sub for tram addiction we have had a few members find a doctor to do it but its few and far between.Tapering is by far the best way to get off tram as ga said .You can do it .How much are you taking how long have you been on it .
Avatar f tn the brain zaps are very infrequent, and I usually feel okay on just 2mgs of Suboxone a day. I want to stop taking the Sub when the withdrawal from Tramadol should be over, but I heard that Tramadol withdrawal lasts longer than opiates. I'm getting excited because I might not even need an SSRI, as I am feeling much better from the Serotonin withdrawal symptoms.
