strattera

Avatar n tn Is he taking 36mg plus 36 mg or 18mg plus 18mg?
Avatar f tn He was on Aderall for about 1 year, until it was taken off the shelves. Since then he has been on Strattera and Concerta. Although he suffered from most of the general side effects, the good the meds were doing was worth it. Our family GP recently did an EKG on him, and has discovered an irregular sinus rythem, and want him to have an Ultra Sound. Her worry is an Enlarged Ventricle. All of the ADD meds tell you to let your Dr.

Avatar f tn My 7 year old son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 4 and has been taking strattera! We added resperidal to try and help his moods last winter. After needing to increase it and having him wet during the day we switched to abilify! I think it is working somewhat although he still has his meltdowns! The dr prescribed concerta now along with the abilify and dropping the strattera.
Avatar m tn only took it 5 days now I am discontinue it. My doc mentioned trying concerta or strattera. Anybody have experience like this or with these meds?
Avatar f tn 1) Why did the tics suddenly happen after being on Concerta for 6 months....did adding the Intuniv have something to do with? I know Intuniv should help with tics....very confused on this... 2) What is the probability that the tics will go away?...and if so...how long does it take? 3) The Dr. Mentioned starting Strattera again as a trial...I have read a lot of bad stuff about this med...what are the factual pros and cons? 4) Have read a little on Wellbutrin...
Avatar m tn As far as I know, the only two are intuniv and concerta. They use different formulations. No clue which is better. I think it probably depends on the individual. Both do take a while to take effect (compared to a stimulant). If you google them, you will be able to see lots of anecdotal posts on how it worked for that poster or their children. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn My 8 hr old grandson was the same way. He was taking 25 mg of Strattera. He was getting VERY whiney and tempermental. He is now on Vaynesse. He is more in control during the day. His whining has calmed down alot. The only problem is at night like after 6pm he gets whiney and tempermental again. He doesn't want to go to bed very good, which some of it is probably him. It is like he is coming down off of it. Other days he is fine. I am ready to go back to the Strattera.
Avatar f tn diagnosed a few days ago with ADD(no hyperactivity) amongst other things and am taking concerta...36 mg 1 to 2 times a day...seems to be a life saver so far but am uninsured, just getting back on my feet after a nasty divorce and losing everything but my children (Thank God). It is SOOO expensive. I have 3 children (out of 5) also diagnosed which prompted me to get checked..Anyone take Strattera with good results...
1523516 tn?1330044257 When I went to see the MS Specialist in January, he gave me Ritalin for my memory/focus and it's also supposed to help with fatigue, giving me more energy. I am thinking it must take a while for it to kick in. After taking it in the mornings I feel a bit dizzy and "out of it" and then I feel better about an hour or two later. Still very fatigued and focus is about the same, a bit better I guess.

Avatar n tn 1st on adderall with explosive behavior - had to try before could take straterra, insurance. Strattera was fine for sev yrs - although only limited imp - just enough to tolerate her. Problems with social interaction and her mouth - she's constantly argumentative and I believe ODD. After menstruation began, strattera appeared worthless. She began nobody liked her, spells of crying uncontrollably, etc. I took her off Strattera and was on no meds temporarily...
Avatar n tn Please clarify what are the results of not changing her medicine to Strattera? Will she continue to pick her scabs? Could something happen as result of these tics?
Avatar f tn After trying a few medications, his doctor chose Concerta as his daily medicine. It seemed to help a little with his so called "hyper" behavior. However, the doctor has increased the dosage a few times and my son is now taking 54mg.
Avatar n tn My son is now on Concerta. we started on Strattera (sp) first and kept going up on the mg. like the Dr said. After 3 months I still didn't see any changes with him. I brought him back to the Dr and they put him on Concerta...we started at a low dose and now after changing the doses and given it time he is up to 54mg. and that did the trick, but once he got home from school he was out of control again.
311086 tn?1224728918 I started Strattera after being diagnosted with Adult ADHD (Severe) on the DSM-IV by my Psychologist. My MD (family doctor) has since confirmed it. He put me on 40mg / day (taken at around 11am every day, without food). For the entire first week, I was fine. I didn't really see any improvement, i'm still hyper, find it hard to concentrate, etc. He then told me that on Wednsday (10/1/2008) that I am to upgrade to 60mg per day. I took my dose on 10/1 and then on 10/2.
Avatar f tn So hang it there i totally understand how frustrated it all is and all the meds and specially when nothing helps. But my son is currently taking strattera along with his mood stabilizers.
Avatar f tn I have tried a holistic approach in my diet, life habits and petition God in prayer as well as different medications from time to time. I am very healthy except for this disorder, but was seeing a doctor for medication, Strattera when I went on medicaid. Does medicaid cover Stratterra, Vyvanse or Concerta and other ADHD or ADD medications?
Avatar m tn Hi i am a nineteen year old caucasian male and i have ADD along with a few other things and i have a few questions. 1. How do i find out if i have OCD because i have some strange habits 2. my memory is rapidly deteriorating though i think its due to marijuana usage, is there any way to improve my memory or supplements i can take to help. 3.
Avatar f tn A combined analysis of 12 studies of Strattera showed that in children and teens this risk was 0.4% for those taking Strattera compared to none for those taking a sugar pill. A similar analysis in adults treated with Strattera did not reveal an increased risk of suicidal thoughts. Call your doctor right away if your child has thoughts of suicide or sudden changes in mood or behavior, especially at the beginning of treatment or after a change in dose.
Avatar m tn My son is 11 yr old, has ADHD/ODDand IED and they also say border line asperger syndrom. He started off with strattera, then switch to stimulants ritalin, and vynasse. Stimulants was horrible for him became very violent. He was on strattera and rispedorol and all he did was wake up eat and sleep. The medication was effecting his motor skills, his reaction time was very slow, like his reaction in the game was horrible, and he had alot of twitching and tics...
Avatar n tn Zolpidem (Ambien), Methylphenidate (Concerta), Clonidine, and Strattera. First, I do not believe my son should have ever been diagnosed w/ ADHD, I have done the research and written a paper as well as currently going through a publication on an article with my wife (not my son's mother) who is an assistant professor of counseling mental health.
889551 tn?1416184483 Hi! I was diagnosed with ADD recently and I'm waiting to get back in to see my psychiatrist. My last office visit we spoke about the possible medications I could choose from if I completed ADD testing with another Psych. He mentioned Strattera (but he said he didn't feel that it worked), Adderall, and Ritalin. I'm currently on abilify and wellbutrin for depression and these meds, along with adderall and ritalin lower the seizure threshold.
Avatar n tn My girls are on Concerta and it helps with their ADHD, and they dont have any bad side effects. I know all kids are different, but you may want to talk to the doc about it and give it a shot.
Avatar n tn my sons tics where full body moments to where his phsyciatrist thought he had austistic type symptoms...only got worse on other med like concerta, strattera on the other hand did not cause tics at all on my son, but it didn't work to well.for focus..and it is not a stimulant..
Avatar m tn Hi I have ADD and I have been taking concerta it is great it helps me focus and stay on track and I still am creative I coach cheerleading and make better comp routines now then I did when I took nothing. The only side affect that is common is it decreases your appetite. Hope this helps.
