seroquel

1255936 tn?1296623461 I took 25 mg of Seroquel for GAD and it did wonders! I took it for a year and recently got off because my stresses are gone.
Avatar m tn It might be a good idea to get a referral to a psychiatrist instead of having your family guess at what might work, it's not the best way to go about it by self-treating, there are a lot of meds out there. Seroquel is one of the best. Many drugs have the risk of weight gain because it increases food cravings, but they don't just pack on the pounds by taking the drug itself. Have you had a physical lately?
1563533 tn?1345366296 I wasn't passing any judgment. I'm sorry if it seemed that way. As for drinking and taking seroquel, do what you think is best. Just try not to get carried away and drink too much. (I'm going to assume you're going to want to remember your last fun drinking night, right? ) ;) Best wishes, have fun, and good luck.

Avatar f tn Hi Cocolei- I have taken Seroquel for years. At one point I did take a small dose of Seroquel during the day -50mg. At night I have taken as much s 600-800mg. When I was in the hospital, there were some people taking as much as 1000mg at bedtime. You didn't say how much total Seroquel you are on. But I do know that the Seroquel really helps stablize my moods. Talk to your doctor about this medication, it sounds like maybe you are not on enough at bedtime.
Avatar m tn seroquel is a great crisis drug for some people but it isn't a good way of life..took it for months and hated the clumsiness it gave me (athlete) how lazy it made me feel..the overly numb feeling..the blood pressure drops..tardive dyskenisia which i get with most of the drugs lesser with anxiety meds than anti psychotics..Some people just don't do well with these powerful drugs and there isn't a lot of sympathy from people who prescribe them..Omega 3 pharmaceutical grade..CBD oil..
Avatar n tn He might also want to get his thyroid checked....I have been on seroquel for over 3 weeks and its not fun....I sleep too much when I take it before bed....headaches and sometime confusions....Please have him go to a doctor....
Avatar n tn Hello, I have been taking Seroquel at 50MG for about 7 years at bedtime with .5 mg of Xanax all prescribed for Mood/Anxiety Disorder. I wanted to ask, if I were to drink heavily (six pack) once a week, would this affect my liver functioning due to these medications, specifically Seroquel? I used to drink more, but cut it back to only once a day last few months. Last liver test was alright, but bilirubin levels were high normal. thank you.
766412 tn?1234893283 When I was taking seroquel, (quetiapine), I found it to be a really stabilising drug, I didn't have any real extremes of mood, and weirdly, never cried. My only problems were that I got very tired at times, and often got cramps in my legs, but after awhile taking it those things became less harsh. Good luck with it.
Avatar m tn Hello, I would like to know if it is safe to fly and be taking medical treatment for a year with Seroquel 300 and Fluoxetine (Prozac). I have to take a plane in a few days and let me know if it is safe to take this treatment ((people taking Seroquel and flew by plane more than 6 hours) I would also like to know the flight experiences in other patients taking Seroquel. Thanks, Anthony.
Avatar n tn will i always feel sleepy taking seroquel? bin takin it for 3 months, 50 mg twice a day, ? how can you avoid the sedation?had to have a break from work, have rapid mood swings and boarderline personality disorder.
Avatar f tn t know about medications but there are alot more out there than epilim and seroquel so trying something different may help. That is a discussion for the psychiatrist. As hard as it may be to watch - he has to want to change and has to see this as a problem. You can do nothing except support your mother and tell your father how you feel about the situation (best to do it when he isn't raging - it could escalate into violence and he can't really hear you when raging anyway.
Avatar m tn Seroquel is often used these days as an augmentation drug for all kinds of things, but it looks like a lot of it was fraudulent marketing by the manufacturer. So it's hard to tell how well it works for other than the two things it was approved for. The manufacturer isn't only being sued, the federal gov't has also taken action.
Avatar m tn I've been on Seroquel for five months. Just found I'm pregnant. Can I stop taking it cold turkey or do I need to wean myself off of it. Just concerned for what's safest for the baby.
Avatar f tn I don't feel high or think its fun to take xanax. I hate taking it and it doesnt make me feel GOOD it just helps with my steadiness. Never took drugs in my life for fun and this is bad Would do anything to not have taken these from the start. Drs. should be held responsible for what they prescribe.
Avatar n tn I have a borderline personality disorder, but I'm not bipolar (as far as I know) and I'm taking Seroquel (don't know why) and Lexapro (for anxiaty & depression). I've read Seroquel is for bipolar, maniac depression and schizofrenia but I'm not sure which of this three aplies in my case. I cut myself, have burned, starve, binge, make myself throw up, have anxiaty atacks and I am generally depressed.....
Avatar f tn my son is on 300mg seroquel.........it won't knock him out at night so he has to add 15mg zoplicone in order to fall asleep, but than he is zonked out for at least 8 hrs...he does get up and go to work but its very hard, he really has to struggle to stay awake. His psych told him to be VERY SURE he takes it 12 hrs BEFORE trying to drive. and he tries too however some nights he isn't home from work early enough...
Avatar m tn Hello, A clinical examination is must before deciding the correct treatment for your condition. Few common side effects of Seroquel are dizziness, drowsiness, tired feeling; increased appetite, weight gain etc.Auditory hallucinations can be drug induced pr due to any disease affecting the central nervous system. You should get a clinical examination done. Tests like fasting blood sugar, postprandial blood sugar, and thyroid tests may be needed. Consult your doctor and get evaluated.
447130 tn?1225470866 Afetr being on 100mg of Seroquel at night for about a month now, my sleep is back to normal and the seroquel is making me feel better, keeping depression at bay. I've been through a rough 2 weeks with some personal things and I came through like a champ. I don't need Restoril or Ambien anymore and I have adjusted to Seroquel so my doc wants me on it for a bit longer. He explained sleep is crucial to bipolar disorder and ordered my on the Seroquel until otherwise notified.
Avatar f tn Do I dare ask the dose you were taking? You may want to tell your friend too that it is dangerous for her to be giving other people her meds. Not to mention illegal in most places. Get yourself to a doctor.
534105 tn?1226157177 Clonazepam is classified as an addictive drug and controlled substance. Seroquel isn't. I"m not sure why your doctor wants you to take seroquel -- you don't say why here. This is a drug intended for a limited purpose that was marketed illegally for all kinds of things, mostly for sleep because an unwanted side effect of it is a lot of sedation. You'd probably find quantitatively more problems quitting clonazepam, as it's one of the hardest of brain drugs to stop taking.
Avatar m tn I have been taking it for 3 months and I am just now getting to where I can take 100 to 150 mg at night and not feel groggy most of the next day. Make sure you remember to not drink alcohol with seroquel or it will intensify the tired feeling.
