well, went down to about 1mg of xanax.... which i am completely out of..... but valium doesn't seem to be working for me.... after i stopped taking xanax... i was taking a pretty high dosage of valium... averaging... 10mg-30mg / night..... i realli need to sleep... so i started with 10mg valium then another 10mg, another... i think 35mg in total.... still can't sleep... i know this sounds very stupid of me.... and yes.. i think i have a serious addiction problem....and now i am still up.
I also take adderall for add and xanax for anxiety. The reason that you are experiencing anxiety like symptoms from the adderall is because adderall is a stimulant. It is a mix of amphetamine and dextoamphetamine salts. It is a schedule II drug. Schedule I drugs are the worst classification and it goes down to schedule V. This is not uncommon, I have this problem as well. The question is can you live with the extra anxiety if the adderall is really helping you?
I was taking wellbutrin & ritalin & didn't have probs with seizures ever. The problems with seizures they've had with them are like you said people prone to them..like who have had one before. Or by overdosing. That's why most dr try to stick with sr as appose to xr cuz you're not taking as much at a time.
wellbutrin can act as a stimulant-like drug though too so that it combo with the ritalin made me a little more anxious...
Dr is upping my ritalin to 30 mg first thing in the mornings and if it helps me not feel so down i can take 30 mg in afternnon too,but i get so anxious like it tightend my chest and i worry heart will go to high so then i take a xanax and then it makes me tired,,,,any ideas how i can stop worrying about ritalin

Recnently been feeling very stressed and anxiety out over nothing. I get irritated easily.
Looked into my diet and blood work, etc. They are all ok. Life is ok, otherwise.
The doctor said stims can cause this and gave also tenex to take the edge off. Helps a little, but its not right.
Is this common for anyone else?
Maybe I'm getting Adderall and Ritalin confused then. Could have sworn I lost all motivation for life on Adderall and became even more hyper on Ritalin. Did I mention I'm dyslexic? But no Sandman is right.
prozac has zapped my sex drive me and hubby havebt had sex bit once since the prozac so dr mentioned he might add wellbutrin later...he also switched me from adderall to ritalin and im on xanx for anxiety.both of these drs told me 2 light beers is ok ..i was reading up on wellbutrin and it says it can cause seizures and alchol could add to the seizure effect...i ask my pharmist and he said thats very rare..
However, over the years, I have smoked a joint or two while on prozac and xanax.. with no ill-effects (expect that it tended to make my anxiety worse). But I can't imagine that regular use is a good idea - with or without the meds you are taking. There is a lot of stigma surrounding MJ use, so a lot of people won't talk to their doctors about possible interaction effects. And for liability reasons, most doctors would tell you just not to smoke it.
Doctor says that you can have 2-3 beers with meds based on an interaction we call increase, in this case, increased sedation while taking xanax, alcohol and any medications that can have sedative proprieties. This is a vague estimation not based on your metabolism, health and many variables. 2-3 beers is considered safe because 2-3 beer won't get your a strong sedative effect unless you drink 3 strong beers really fast.
If you are suffering from anxiety and need to control it with Xanax, you certainly do not want to use any form of speed, which is what most ADD medications are. You would wind up in a straitjacket.
You are very wise to use Xanax only on an as-needed basis. It is extremely addicting. And here is something you might try. When I was suffering the effects of adrenal fatigue, I was told to use Xanax on an as-needed basis, which I did, and it helped enormously. I was given .
The bupe though make me have no motivation what so ever. Exactly the same problem with you. So I started taking Ritalin and it helpd tremendously. But after a year taking it I have realized that even know I'm ADHD and it didn't make me hyper it did start to mess with my heart rhythm. But I realizing that the real problem is the bupe it self. This stuff was a miracle, but it is the drug that is causing me all the really bad side effects. Start by cutting down on your bupe.
When taking Ritalin with a T4 med, it can accelerate the Ritalin effect.....basically like taking a double dose of Ritalin.
Maybe you should ask your Doc to cut it down a bit as its well known that Ritalin does interact with a T4 med.
I dont care what any Doc/Endo says...thyroid issues do cause anxiety, depression, panic disorder etc at some stage when levels arent right.
Spouse taking Seroquel, Lithium, & Geodon. Auditory hallucinations & delusions began about a month ago with no prior history of mental illness (we've been together 14 years). My fiance is using Xanax approximately two to three times a day along with 50mcg fentanyl trans dermal patches every 48 hours. He has chronic back pain and takes the patches for that reason. He doesn't seem to have any desires for anything anymore. He's in bed at least 15-18 hours a day. Doesn't have much of an appetite anymore and doesn't want to go anywhere or do much of anything. We actually tried Concerta when he was 6. It made him really mean when he was coming off of it and he had a really hard time going to sleep at night. We also tried Ritalin LA (long acting). For some reason his body metabolizes it fast. It wasn't long acting at all. We want to go to one dose a day because he doesn't like being singled out @ lunch to take his meds because Kids are starting to ask questions.
(He never had ADHD by the way, just ADD, he never had the hyperactivity)
He is 31 years old now, 10 years since he was diagnosed with Attention Defecit Disorder with Anxiety Disorder. He still takes his Ritalin every day, but is going to be weaned off them after he finishes University........he is just going into his third year of an engineering degree, and is doing a Masters due to his First grades in every unit. Im so proud of him and hes come so far.

I went to school without either at 22 and although it was VERY difficult I got through and started a very good job. It was after starting that job that I realized how to accept both the depression and the ADD and accept help for both. I went to my doctor about 9 months ago and am now on Vyvanse and Fluoxetine.
