prevacid

1448936 tn?1363206346 I've raised my head at night. I haven't tried prevacid or prilosec. My doc prescribed me zantac in august so I've continued using it. I may try one of those to see if I get any relief because the zantac really isn't working.
Avatar f tn Hi, have you ever tried Zantac? Take the Zantac 150 (or two 75's) in the morning and before dinner at night, or before bed, whichever you prefer. I have had heartburn forever and I tried the prescription meds, but I feel the Zantac works the best. But 75 is not enough, make sure you take 150 mg. twice a day. Also, you can supplement it with Mylanta or Maalox liquid if it's really bad. I'm not saying this will be a miracle cure, but it's worth a try.
547002 tn?1219797376 In July i was having some swallowing problems or thought i was and they did an EGD and found nothing but a VERY tiny hiatal hernia. My stomach lining was nice and pink. I had been taking prevacid for two weeks prior to the EGD due to the trouble swallowing NOW i want to stop taking the prevacid and every time i try i get really sick. I get weak, nauseaus and for a day or two i literally go to the bathroom constantly and have loose yellow stools with stomach cramps.
Avatar n tn s really bad and none of those help you can see if your doctor is ok with something like prevacid or prilosec.
Avatar f tn Now there is just no room for my stomach, so he had me switch to prevacid, and I eat bland foods to keep it under control. I never recommend taking anything without asking, though. That way your doctor can explain the risks if there are any.
Avatar f tn That is interesting because I was taking Prevacid and also noticed an increase in PAC's. Its still to early for me to tell if that was the culprit because my Palps have a mind of their own and can last as long as a week at times. For now though I have stopped the Prevacid to see if that helps. I also take fish oil which I've heard can help palps but I've also read that they can worsen them, who knows? Keep us posted!
Avatar f tn Sometimes PVCs can be caused by certain medications. After taking Nexium for five years, I suddenly developed over 8000 PVCs a day. I struggled with those for almost two years. When I tapered off the Nexium meds and used a simple, over-the-counter antacid (containing calcium and magnesium) as needed, the PVCs lessened. When I ate carefully and finally stopped Nexium completely (using the OTC antacid only when needed and in small amounts) the PVCs went away completely.
Avatar f tn My daughter age 15 was diagnosed with GERD after several months of pain and testing. She has been on Prevacid and Zantac for a month now. She has been pain free since starting her meds. Although in the past month she has gained 10 lbs. Has anyone else suffered from this? We eat a mostly vegetarian diet. She swims a hour 4x a week. Thanks for any info you can give me.
Avatar f tn Last monday we took him to the doctor again and they said he was fine, and would outgrow it. They gave us the option of putting him on zantac which we have done. For the first few days he wans't getting sick at all, now he is back to getting sick 5 to 9 times a day again. We haven't changed his diet, he drinks soy instead of regular milk(they thought it could have been a milk allerrgy). My biggest concern is that he will get dehydrated or cause damage to his esophagus.
Avatar f tn Is it okay to take Prilosec? They said Zantac was okay, but not to take Prevacid. I bought Prilosec and want your opinions on it.
977806 tn?1249067346 I did see that the indigestion is another side effect and taking zantac or prevacid is ok. This just seems like alot of chemicals. Is there anyone else taking the Eltrombopag along with their treatment?
Avatar n tn I'm taking omeprazole for acid reflux's. Is there a similar medicine that does not carry the dizziness label. My acid reflux's is low.
Avatar f tn I had it really bad with this pregnancy and my first... my first everything stopped working so my doctor prescribed me with a very high mg of zantac and this time around my doctor put me on a very high mg of prevacid.. the only thing that ***** about the prevacid is that you gotta take 30 mins before breakfast and it makes you nauseous but it works all day long.. for sure talk to your doctor cause what they can prescribe works 20x better then what you get over the counter..
10678677 tn?1413254266 I've had to tale rolaids and or tums due to heartburn.....I did it with my daughters pregnancy and had no issues with her......pregnant with another girl and I've had to take them to help again.....
290867 tn?1333569278 s what I meant. I meant Prevacid. Mine was put on Zantac first and was then switched to Prevacid and that was better. The Zantac only helped for like a couple of weeks and then went right back. Well, if they have tried all of that, then maybe a GI specialist is the route to go. It sounds like your doc has tried everything. And maybe your doc is right. Maybe when Julian starts solids, it will help. I hope so.....for both your sake. I know it's hard....Just hang in there.
280369 tn?1316702041 I probably asked this before, but is taking zantac on a daily basis or a few times a week a bad thing in pregnancy? I'm just about 32 weeks and have had the worst acid reflux this pregnancy and have tried every natural thing out there. For a while, just drinking grapefruit juice got rid of it, but now it does nothing. Tums have even stopped working. I am not one to take medicines or pop a pill unless I absolutely have to, and that's pregnant or not pregnant.
Avatar m tn I'm pretty scared.... I don't know what to think. 44 about to be 45 year old white male I had heart disease at an early age but other than that, no health problems. About a year now I have had very bad acid reflux and at times due to the damage it was causing, I had lots of trouble swallowing. Before I started taking prevacid ...I wasn't able to swallow ANY kind of food that had any kind of heat to it..and by heat I mean spicy, I don't mean temperature wise.
Avatar n tn I have Acid Reflux and had some of it in the beginning of tx. Drinking something Cold and fizzy helps, but taking Prevacid, Zantac, Tagament, etc. (if they are okay on tx) should help too. If you don't feel relief soon, be sure to go to a GI doc, as you don't want to damage your esophagus. www.purplepill.
Avatar m tn Doctor says its either the meds or the ER. Have tried taking with food, without food, different times of the day etc and it's always the same.
Avatar f tn Oh, of course, ALWAYS discuss any medications you are thinking of taking with your doctor! But in Canada Motherrisk at Sick Kids Hospital says Zantac is safe to take.
1391312 tn?1421086993 Yes Bill, I have been taking the Prevacid 30 mg 2 X a day, and has stopped working for me. I have been on a lot of different ones over the years, I will let you know what he puts me on this time.
Avatar f tn Lots of milk & crackers. I end up taking some Zantac one time a day.
