Its the drug in vicodin and norco. The drug in percocet is called OXYcodone. I was taking it light weight with my first and he was fine. I'm taking it more now than I was then because I'm havijg my third baby in 4 years and the pain is miserable. It won't hurt your baby developmentally at all. The biggest risk is if the baby comes out and is no longer getting the drugs through your blood stream he/she will have to go through with drawals.

I have been taking percocet for my wrist I have bad tendonitist and I am addicted to them I try to get off of them and now my ears and head seem clogged and I have been getting dizzy and panic attacks when I try not taking them for a day I wake up feeling so bad and really tired and crappy I am gonna try to just take an aleve to take away alittle of the pain is there anything else I can do to help me out while I am trying to get off of them I don;t want anyone to know about this that is why I am
I told him it would help with the pain I was having and it did. But, I had forgotten all about taking percocet until today. I looked at previous forums, but would like info for myself. I really think it will be a while before I conceive, but the thought scared me a bit on the chance that I could be pregnant. I have been on birth control since my son of 7 years. I was using the IUD, not hormonal one (My doctor removed that a month ago and I was using condoms up till the surgery).

Was your OB/GYN aware that you were taking Percocet throughout the pregnancy? Are you taking them for pain? You did not make that clear. I would certainly advise you to wean off of the Percocet. 4-3-2-2-1-1. Take a week to do it and then stop. If you are taking Percocet for pain, take Tylenol instead, but no more than directed. Make sure that your OB/GYN is aware that you have been taking Percocet during pregnancy; baby may need extra attention after birth.
I have been taking 10mg of percocets every day for about 2 months now. I started taking them due to a sports injury and now I am struggling to stop. I have not taken more than 10mg in a day which I know is not a large amount. I am still worried about my withdrawals due to the amount of time I have been taking them. The big reason why I am afraid to stop is because of the withdrawals. Will my withdrawal be bad?
To answer your question it is both physical and mental------If you want to quit you will get plenty of support here---you are going to go thru wds every time you quit taking them---I quit taking percs 102 days ago---- I was taking 120mgs a day up my nose---its up to you to decide if you have had enough----your dependance will only get worse with time---I wish you all the best-----Jon
Percocet contains acetominophen, which can be very toxic to the liver, particularly in doses greater than 4 grams per day (the amount in 8 of the extra-strength percocet tablets). Taking more than that can eventually cause cirrhosis of the liver, a chronic, potentially fatal illness.

thks..this is 54 hours into detoxing from I dont know what..suboxone which i stopped 3 weeks ago or taking perc's for 6 days thinking it would help with the withdrawls..now stopped with the perc's and am wondering what am i withdrawing from??? i hope this wont lat long???

I started taking percocet 10 mg for back pain and now I've found myself taking 10mg every 3 hours. I took off work for 3 days to detox and come off cold turkey but oh my God I started having jerks, night sweats, my whole body was jerking. I wanted to put my fist throught the wall. My doctor gave me a schedule to detox myself slowly but I was so desperate to come off I tried cold turkey.
m asking. When it comes to withdrawals would taking an opiate like percocet interrupt my norco withdrawals or is it just the idea that someone who has a norco addiction/dependance should not be tempting fate with other opiates?
I would love for some members with knowledge of this subject to chime in. Anyone else have something to add???
s been about three years now. But now he basically relies on taking it and has withdrawl symptoms if he goes two days without it. He has twitches as night, irritability , depression, pain. He really wants to get off of it because he is scared it's Hurting hia health. Which I think it is. What should he do to get off of it. I'm worried sick please help.
Oh, and with this came the Percocet from doctors. I know what everyone is sitting here saying about this post... "She doesn't even realize it, but she is an addict, etc..." But I feel differently than some might be thinking right now. I honestly believe that I've unwillingly become dependant on these medicines rather than just be forced to label myself as an all out addict to the pills.
Try taking a percocet then 2-3 hrs later take the motrin an d getting longer intervals in between percocet doses. So instead of taking percocet every 4hrs, try every 6 hrs then every 8. Just start weaning yourself off them instead of cold turkey. I had excision surgery (where they literally cut out the endo and surrounding areas and suspected areas) and also a appendectomy and supracervical hysterectomy 2wks ago tomorrow. I've been off all percocet for about 5 days now.
I'm on day 10 of withdrawling off percocet and I can't stop filling up with this uncomfortable stomach acid... Green and yellow. I've tried Prilosec,tums, and drinking tons of water. What should I do? Also what food do you suggest I try eating?
As of this posting, I am taking Percocet 10/325 5 times a day and Xanax 2mg twice a day for chronic migraines. I have been on everything made for migraines with no relief. The percocets are starting to wear off sooner than they should. What would be the next step up from Percocet. I want to be able to ask my doctor about taking something a bit stronger to see if it helps. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I am a 42 year old female, I started taking Percs close to a year ago for bad teeth, at the same time, my partner cheated and left me, I felt the percs make me feel a little better besides helping for pain. Pretty soon (With in about 4 months) I was taking them daily. No excuses, I have made a mistake and abused the medication but now I also get sick when I dont have any. I am taking about 5 ten mg pills a day and I want to STOP. I want to taper down some how.
