Hello Ive been taking 20 percocet a day now for 16days. I started taking them because of a herniated disk! I am not going to take anymore! How long will my withdrawls last? Also I take Xanax and Valium for really bad anxiety, will the xanax and valium help witht the withdrawl symptoms???

I have since been told my my surgeon that the constant pressure I feel is permanent nerve damage from the multiple surgeries and bone pain. Since percocet only lasts for a few hours, taking it twice a day really doesn't help all day, but I don't want to have to take it all day either. I have also suffered from anxiety for years and have difficulty sleeping. For that I take xanax, usually just at night to help me sleep.

Hello I am going to go off a 3 year 4 -6 a day Percocet habit on Friday alone .. I have to do this for myself my children and my new job that I start in two weeks . My dr recently prescribed me Xanax and celexa for anxiety and depression but I was to scared to tell him about the pills I have been taking ... I have not started the celexa because I am scared it will interact with the Percocet and haven't taken Amy Xanax because i haven't needed it ..

It is doubtful. If you are taking as directed, for the reasons it was prescribed, there is probably no problem. Addiction is the abuse of the meds. By using for other reasons, or taking more than prescribed, etc.

What are my options for the breakthrough pain, that is what I am taking the percocet for and I need to stop with the Tylenol already enough is enough. I talked with my doc last time I was there to see her, and this is when she switched me to the percocet from Vicoprofen, due to the fact that it was doing nothing for the pain. Please if you have any ideas I know you might not be a Dr. however, I just need some one elses opinion on this matter.

This last one left me with such tightness in my chest and the inability to get a deep breathe for 24 hours and only improved upon my taking the Xanax. That never happened before, those feelings typically subside within 30 minutes. Vicki, I am just taking Percocet now, no Oxy. I have not taken Oxy in over two months and have reduced the Percocet. Probably actually closer to 1.5 per day. Wanted to jump by now but struggling with the mental part. Thanks for thinking of me!

I have read this forum for several hours and have already gotten some answers. I was prescribed Percocet for severe muscle spasms in my back. Usually 1 or 2 would nip the spasm before it got too bad. Then I discovered it helped me sleep also! I also found it helped my mood, i.e., made me more talkative to my husband, more interesting. You all know the rest of the story.

Ive been taking percocet on n off for 5 years. More on than off. I use to subsitite with norco, 10mg when id run put pf my 30 month supply of 120 after 2 weeks. I try to taper, and it helps. I recently went up to 6 a day of 10/325. O have 3 left with one ready to inhale for the am. I am coming out of a drug imduced psychosis episode. I've gotten them before, but this was the worst. Im taking 2 mg xanax which has brought me back almost 99%.

Of course that is just asking for problems, also he knew I had an addictive personality, and at the time I was taking 6 mg a day of Xanax from the same doctor. Just let's make one thing clear. At first I took 20-25 a day/I used suboxone and cleaned up. Recently I find my self taking between 10 and 12 one weekend night. Here comes the withdrawl all over again. Not only did i drop this but marijuana, subboxone, xanax, and alchol,were all also dropped yesterday as well. Its day 2 and i barley made it through work. Will this last long, and will it get worse.Any help would be appreciated. I work 12 houra day.

I hope by this time you have called your physician or consulted with your pharmacist on taking the two at the same time. I take diazepam (similar to xanax) and hydrocodone together under my direction of my physician. If fact she insists that I take them together when my pain becomes severe. One potentiates the other. My diazepam is prescribed for muscle spasms not anxiety. It is a medication that accomplishes both as I would xanax would also do to some degree.

Thank you. I went ct off of Xanax and Soma, that was rough. A week later after cutting my Percocet from 4 per day to 2 per day I stopped them. I'm on day 3 now without any medication, it's not easy but can be done. Thanks to you and everyone else for the motivation to be free form these drugs.

I have built up a tolerance and have now stopped taking them. I will be reverting back to motrin for anymore needed pain meds. Being this will be the first full day of no percs, I am a little stressed out of how I will feel. I attempted to try last weekend and broke into cold sweats the first day. I took my last pill yesterday about 1:30pm. My belly is already starting to hurt. Can anyone give my some advice on what all to expect and if it should be a horrible thing for me.

Before I got pregnant I was on 100mg of Zoloft, 4mg of xanax and occasionally Percocet (for anxiety). Once I found out I was expecting (5weeks) I immediately stopped the xanax and Percocet. My doctor gave me a script for Xanax to help me sleep and for anxiety due to my taper. I have (20) 1mg Xanax to use for this week of going cold turkey. Here's my question: I've read how addictive Xanax is. Will I get w/d symptoms from taking 3 mgs of Xananx for 6-7 days only? That's all I'm allowing myself to take. I will not ask for another script. I just don't want to suffer w/d's this week for the percocet and then another week for the Xanax?

Not sure about tylenol...my MD prescribed xanax and told me ibuprofen (motrin) was okay for pain.

Well my neck is feeling much better but I stopped taking the pills Sunday and I have no been able to sleep at all.....My legs will not stop moving and I am tired but I can not sleep...I refuse to take any more pills to sleep but I have slept maybe an hour the past two days and still working does anyone have any other advice...
