Can you please tell me if you can take Nexium 40mg. and Zantac 75mg. together or on the same day. My GI doctor has me on Nexium 40mg. and my PCP wants me to take Zantac 75mg. at night before I go to bed. Is it safe, and can I take it with Xanax 1mg. I have GERDS and Barrett's Esophagus. And they both think it mjght be causing these little pinpoint pimples in my mouth, tongue, and throat.
Should I just continue taking nexium, motilium and mucosta? Or should I switch to zantac? Can I still continue taking motilium even with zantac? I'm not really sure if mucosta is necessary in my case but my heartburns have been quite painful at times.
In case I should switch to zantac, can I do it right away? Can I switch to the first prescription right away tomorrow? I would probably be taking motilium still anyway

I think you're on to something because it's awfully fishy to me that just when I stopped taking Nexium, I'm left with this devil of a heart arrythmia! Hmmmm....
I have heard people taking nexium am and zantac pm? I think if I could get the raw spot better I would be fine. I really don't have heartburn except in my throat. My stomach doesn't hurt except at my sternum occastionally. But I am sore a lot.Any help anyone can give me. Is this considered Acid Reflux I am not sure my doctor ever gave me an actually name for it.
That is interesting because I was taking Prevacid and also noticed an increase in PAC's. Its still to early for me to tell if that was the culprit because my Palps have a mind of their own and can last as long as a week at times. For now though I have stopped the Prevacid to see if that helps. I also take fish oil which I've heard can help palps but I've also read that they can worsen them, who knows? Keep us posted!
Sometimes PVCs can be caused by certain medications. After taking Nexium for five years, I suddenly developed over 8000 PVCs a day. I struggled with those for almost two years. When I tapered off the Nexium meds and used a simple, over-the-counter antacid (containing calcium and magnesium) as needed, the PVCs lessened. When I ate carefully and finally stopped Nexium completely (using the OTC antacid only when needed and in small amounts) the PVCs went away completely.
Did you ever try taking acid reflux meds or GERD meds? this may be a reason for it. Try and let us know.
Not sure about Zante but pepcid and nexium is ok.
I started taking Zantac 150 and it seemed okay but I started have occasional nausea and sharp pains in the stomach area. My Internal Medicine doctor advised the ulcer is being aggravated by the acid which is causing nausea and pain, the Zantac was not strong enough. She prescribed Protonix 40mg twice a day, I have been on that and feel great; no fatigue, no nausea, no pain!
Well I called my doctor yesterday and we think it is a medication I was taking causing it to be so bad. I was ordered to stop taking it immediatly and they gave me a month supply of 2 nexium a day. HOPEFULLY this will help. I have actually already felt a difference since I started taking nexium and I didnt take that medication last night and I woke up with no pain and Im actually hungry. So maybe this works.
Nope, Xanax. I was just saying how I'm trying to avoid heartburn, being off Nexium and all. But, nevermind, I looked it up and found out Xanax does wear away the area where the stomach meets the esophagus.
The last year it has gotten worse where I occasionally wake up with back and throat pain but it is quickly resolved by getting up, moving around and taking tums. I have been to many gastro dr.s, have been on nexium and zantac and am mostly constipated (wondering if I have IBS-C?) For some reason, I am petrified of having pancreatic cancer and worry that the back pain could be this.
and I think it was bad on me cuz i stopped the Zantac when I started the Nexium......I ended up in er cuz thought I was losing my mind and gonna have a nervous breakdown! So I don't know for sure if the Nexium made me feel worse or if it was from stopping the Zantac.
Was having muscle twitches too.....having them today and yesterday again so I know it must be the Zantac as part of the problem.....this just really depresses me.....not postitive if my thyroid is part of the problem or not!
My doctor told me I need to try to ween myself off of the medicine (zegerid, because nexium and a million other meds dont woork). I tried doing that and I still keep getting heartburn no matter what. I have gotten the endoscopy several times and the doctors just say that the bottom of my esophagus is not tight, which gives me G.E.R.D. I can't deal with this anymore. I get terrible heartburn and I dont know what to do with myself because I take Zegerid EVERY DAY!!
Zantac 150 is what I take!
