Taking lyrica with vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Taking lyrica with vicodin

lyrica

Avatar f tn I am taking 200mg Lyrica daily, plus 20mg Prozac, and Vicodin 5/500 as needed. I am miserable today - hurt all over I have a dr appt tomorrow morning but today is still long. I'm out of Vicodin and I have had a few 8 mg Dilaudid hanging around for awhile because a friend gave them to me. Has anyone had this combination of drugs? I need something but I am afraid the Lyrica and Prozac might interact with Dilaudid. Has anyone used Dilaudid to manage Fibro pain?
5164523 tn?1366525959 so for awhile when i missed the lyrica, i thought oh, i have vicodin...but as Vicodin off, more and more the lyrica helped.....but when I missed doses of everything..., It was by my wife keeping a diary, that I realized I was missing so many just a few days or even one...the Oh! went on... And now I have taken 3yrs without feeling the sick, sweaty feeling I felt when I missed dose.. I did not gain weight ..
Avatar n tn I have read a few things about Lyrica, but I would like to know what other's experiences have been. I had a fusion at c5-6 about 1 month ago. For the first 3 weeks, the terrible pain I had near my shoulder blade was gone. Around week 4, the pain started up again on the other side of my body. Pre-surgery, I just had right side pain. That is gone now but I have left side pain. I am taking vicodin, but I obviously can't take that forever. I have to go back to work in 2 weeks.
Avatar n tn I have Fibro and it differs from day to day. Actually it differs from person to person, which is why it is so hard to find something that works for everyone. I tried Lyrica twice, but had to stop due to "blurry vision" on reading. (This is one of the side effects) It is very hard not knowing from day to day just how miserable one might feel. Get support from others who have this problem. I just found this forum a few days ago and it appears to be very good.
Avatar m tn I cannot stand Lyrica! It makes me WAY spacey!! I have fibro and have had symptoms for 2 yrs now. It ***** BIG TIME!! I still take Lyrica because it's all I have. I still have pain, but now I'm spacey. I don't know how to ask my neurologist or any Dr. for vicodin. My old Dr. in another state used to prescribe vicodin for my pain and it worked well. I would take 1-4 a day. Sometimes none at all. It would all depend on my pain.
Avatar f tn You might also want to ask about trying Lyrica. It has helped me immensely. I have also found relief taking D-Ribose powder. What kind of arthritis do you have in your hands? Is it being treated?
Avatar f tn I am still wondering if anyone has experience with taking any of the three drugs recommended for fibromyalgia, with having hep c? Mainly there are three only to treat fibro, Lyrica, Cymbalta, Savella. I have hep c and they all warn of liver problems. I am having so much trouble with fibro that I am wondering if the help would outweigh the risk to my liver. I am not in cirrhosis, at least not 2 years ago on biopsy, I was F1-F2. I do not drink.
Avatar f tn I was just put on Lyrica, the doc thinks I might have Fibro...I have all the symptoms that go along with it...I have noticed though over the last week since I've been taking it that my anxiety has increased and it feels like my heart is beating faster....I have always been on Xanax for anxiety ( last 4 yrs. ) but I haven't had to use it as much until lately...or could this just be a symptom of Fibro since it's really flared up due to the cold weather?
Avatar f tn You may take some Valerian for restlesness or talk to your doctor about some Ambien to help you sleep for a few nights. Try taking a half a pill of Vicodin for a few first nights just to make it easier for yourself. Then you can take some Tylenol instead together with the ibuprofen. They work well together for pain. Never take Tylenol while taking Vicodin though, because you may ovedose on acetominophen and damage your liver further.
233622 tn?1279334905 I don't think so... I've heard other got help with 900mg...?? I know it can go up to 3200mg a day, but when I was taking 2100mg a day... my Vertigo type spells were so bad.... I lowered it and now I only get them weekly instead of three times a day. so? I'm going to the MS clinic this week for an update on meds... I think he wants me to take Lyrica? but I'm not sure if I want too... try it before and didn't like the side effects of that one. have you tried Lyrica?
1378325 tn?1285346625 Thank you for the response. My Rhuemetologist doesn't take too much stock in Lyrica and such, so no I do not take them. I was taking generic Vicodin for a month or so after being on Relafen for 10 yrs., did not help.
Avatar f tn I have reoccurring grade 1 isthmic spondylolisthesis for the last 6 years. Flare-up's are now occurring 2x/year, lasting 2/3 months at a time. My PCP recently referred me to a physiatrist for pain management. After a brief consult the physiatrist switched my PT, stopped my rx for vicodin, and prescribed Lyrica for sciatica. He inquired about the vicodin I was taking. I explained that I'm allergic to aspirin and all NSAID's and it was the only form of relief I had for pain.
669241 tn?1236264344 Are any of you taking opiates for fibro pain ? I'am taking lyrica , but they have mentioned opiaates.
Avatar f tn I had been up to 4 Vicodin a day because of the pain, and with the lyrica as a side RX my pain med dosage went down. My pain decreased. I was taking 50mg, I was feeling so good I stopped taking the Lyrica, but my pain was too much, had to go back on it. The side effects I have were sleepiness and weight gain. So I take it before bedtime, and I work out as much as possible, this also helps with depression I might get due to having a chronic pain disease.
Avatar f tn I was taking Vicodin for about 3 months then weaned off for a month and a half. I have been done with the meds for 2 weeks now. Since I started to wean off until now, my vision has been blurred, grainy and large print seems to shake. Others have said it is part of the withdrawals. Just want to know how does the Vicodin cause this? It is the eyes, the central nervous system, the brain? Also, how long until it starts to subside?
1511671 tn?1316564203 I was diagnosed about 10 years ago. Initially I used Vicodin along with Ambien at night for sleep and it helped a bit. I also have other chronic pain issues, particularly severe osteoarthritis. I had tried Lyrica a few years ago for the fibro and at the time I got a little relief from it. Then I had some hand surgery and was on different meds for that, which also, at the time, helped with the fibro.
Avatar m tn t be taking it again back to just the lyrica and lyrica only..il look at some natural substances to help with dele at night although I hope I can start getting atleast an hour or two on my own at night. Rest assure I'm not going crazy with drugs lol I was just really curious to the question I asked and the responses I got didn't really explained exactly what I was wanting to know.
394774 tn?1235070839 I was taking Lyrica which was increased to the highest dose because it was not working for my fibromyalgia. I had many of the side effects with the high dosage of lyrica including blurry vision so I weaned myself off of it and had about a months worth left if taken once a day. I have recently been prescribed the Cymbalta because I do have depression from being in pain all the time and not being able to do the things that I am used to doing.
Avatar n tn I'm allergic to codeine. I'd been taking vicodin, then norco. now i'm having itching and anxiety when i take it. Any suggestions? I'm seeing my Dr. Monday..this is Friday. Thx!! I also take lyrica, trazodone (RLS), celexa, synthroid. I have degenerative disc & joint disease, injury to coxica & sciatic joints and severe fibromyalgia.

719785 tn?1232901518 There are some serious side-effects involved with any type of antidep. (see our Health Pages for Lyrica). I discovered that while taking Neurontin, it made me feel deathly ill and caused depression. Please don't give up on trying to find what is right for you. It takes time and testing. I pray you find something for the pain soon. I know what you are going through and how it feels each day. If you need to talk or vent, PM me anytime or post. We are here for you. Take care.

1380526 tn?1292839385 I have severe facial nerve pain on the right side that won't go away...had it on the left side before my Chairi Decompression in 2009. My GP prescribed Lyrica...Gabapentin, Nortriptyline, Vicodin, etc weren't working...Been on the Lyrica for almost a week now and doesn't seem to be working either. Should I be seeing some results by now, or is it too soon? Anyone else had Lyrica for nerve pain like this? Or has something else helped? It is a horrible pain several times a day...
Avatar n tn I am on Duragesic pain patch, Ultram, Lortab 10 mg, and Lyrica 200mg. I noticed weight gain and swelling in my legs and feet with Lyrica and wanted to know if Topamax could replace Lyrica.
Avatar n tn I've been treated for SLE for more than 5 years taking 400mg daily of hydroxchloroquine, acetaminophen and vicodin 5/500 2 daily. I cannot take ibuprofen due to kidney disease, although it was the best pain reliever. About a year ago I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. The worst pain ever. 6 months on Nortriptyline, several on alpha lipoic acid, now on Lyrica. Lyrica works! Still numb but pain relief.
Avatar f tn I am actually trying taking myself off the Lyrica right now, going down to just the Zoloft, Trazodone, and birth control. It also makes me wonder because I take the Trazodone to let me go to sleep because I developed insomnia as a side effect to the Zoloft (supposedly). I know I need something for my depression since when I am off Zoloft it is miserable, but maybe my headaches are caused by meds rather than something else. Any ideas?
4939681 tn?1361299299 The one thing to be aware of with taking this drug is that you cannot be taking any narcotic pain medication while taking this drug because it works as what we call an "antagonist" to narcotics. This means that the naltrexone makes the narcotics stop working.
