Taking flexeril with vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Taking flexeril with vicodin

flexeril

Avatar f tn Flexeril is a muscle relaxant. Sweetie, I would ask your doctor about something like that before taking anything. You never know if you will have a reaction to a medication and if it was not prescribed to you and you received it from someone else that person could potentially be in trouble with the law. I do not believe Flexeril is addictive. But, please call your doctor instead. That's just my two cents! WTG for being clean from vicodin for 3 weeks!!! AWESOME!!!
Avatar m tn Well, I have checked out this forum quite a bit. There is a lot of valuable information on here. So here I go again. I have been down the ct withdrawal route before. It is really tough this time since I was taking more mg's a day this time around. About 80-90mg of vicodin. I went about 24hrs and was about to die ( I thought) from the stomach cramps. I did taper down just a little bit over the past couple of days. I was in so much agony today I broke down and aquired 3 more tens.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Us Gemini's are having a ball with Flexeril! I just started taking it. I must say I got a great night sleep for once! Have arthritis, chronic insomnia, partial paralysis, hypersensitive to pain. The generic vicoden wires me badly, can't take after 4pm. Really want to take percocet for pain, works great but got a new doc (old one retired) and she gave me vicoden instead-BAD idea!
623065 tn?1275503695 Generally with spinal injuries, or neurosurgery, if a patient is looking at back surgery Flexeril (muscle relaxers) and Vicodin (pain killers) are the main medications used to help with the pain. If he has chopped the pills up, then he's most likely NOT abusing them. The reason I say this is because he would be taking several pills WHOLE. He probably took one and realized he was really sensitive to them, so cut them up so he could take a smaller dose so he would not be so tired.
Avatar f tn prescribed Medrol which I finished taking over a week ago. I have also been taking Vicodin and Flexeril. The Vicodin seems to be constipating me (bonus). The pain intensifies when I wake up and try to get out of bed, but it is not isolated and remains constant throughout the day. I've tried ice packs and heating pads. I haveHave had this for about 6 weeks. Just wondering if anyone can give me advice or a magic cure. I stopped boot camp two weeks ago.
Avatar m tn You should be OK on those things but I would not start at the full doses of L-Tyrosine. Build up 500mg at a time and see how you do. You shouldn't need the valium with the Flexeril. Neurontin sometimes has helped with w/ds so that should actually benefit you.
1185172 tn?1264284610 Thanks - yes, I did flush them. I've tried lyrica and cymbalta and they both raised my controlled hypertension to uncontrollable, so no luck there. I take klonopin & flexeril for sleep and they work fine. I just started about a week ago on effexor, I know it won't help with the pain, but hopefully it will help with my attitude. I stretch and swim which helps with the stiffness, it's just the pain in my joints is horrific at times as you know and it hurts to just barely move.
Avatar f tn Vicodin is a pain reliever with tylenol. The other two are antidepressants, one an SSRI the other an SNRI. To me taking them together make no sense. They do travel different pathways in the brain/body, one holds Norephineprine where it is needed for energy and pain reduction. Serotonin is held where it is needed by both meds which help with depression. Trust your doctor. He must have assessed that your depression is serious and a source of your pain besides the Fibromyalgia.
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar f tn Before getting pregnant i was taking tramadol and flexeril to take the edge off if my jaw started locking up. Now my ob just has me on the lowest dose of flexeril but it seems to do nothing for it. Just 10 more weeks though i think i can make it if i've gotten this far.
Avatar f tn Hey his is my first time posting I'm 29 I've been taking vicodin 10mg for almost 2 years off an on but worse in these last few months.
1972798 tn?1355549267 Long story short after taking baths, using a heating pad, massaging, whining, taking tylonol and stretching with nothing even touch the pain I ended up in ER for a leg ultrasound to rule out blood clot and blood work to be sure calcium and potassium were ok. All tests came back good and my dr gave me a perscription for flexeril which is a muscle relaxer. I am going to bed and hope when I wake up i am pain free!!!
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and I had been on Klonopin, Flexeril, Tramadol, and Vicodin. I have been feeling better and stopped all my medication with the exception of Tramadol. I started tapering and found the tramadol makes me feel like I have a seizure when I stop taking taking it. I started cutting my dose by 1/2 pill every 2-3 days. The thing is, i just found out I'm 4 weeks pregnant. So I need to get offf of it quick but safely. any suggetions?
1142551 tn?1264736930 I'd like an answer to this question, too! Not just my feet, but often my hands, and even my entire body. I'll feel extremely chilled, yet I'll be sweating. And if it helps any with the responses you and I receive to this question, I'm not on any DMD yet. I take Gabapentin/Neurontin, Lisinopril and Atenolol, Imdur (a nitro therapy for my heart), Crestor (for cholesterol), Flexeril, and I take Vicodin when I'm in pain. That's about it.
Avatar m tn Hey there! Half way through Day 6 here too. If it wasn't for back stiffness, I'd feel awesome. The one thing that has helped me sleep is Flexeril, it's a non-addictive muscle relaxant usually prescribed to treat muscle spasm (so it helps with RLS too). Valium didn't help me sleep more than 2-3 hours, but with the Flexeril, I've slept 8 hours. I know I saw a couple other posters say it worked for them too.
Avatar m tn I wouldn't drink with flexeril in my system.
2730764 tn?1340148833 There is really no easy way of detoxing from home. I have dealt with hundreds of addicts who have all told me horror stories of doing it by themselves. I would only guess that if are successful in doing it at home you don't end up in my clinic. Just in case you are curious, it takes us three to four days to detox a patient and get him/her back home drug free and feeling well on Naltrexone therapy (no opiates).
757527 tn?1237893063 I haven't taken muscle relaxants, but I can see where they may help to a degree. Any form of barbituate/sedative is going to relax the muscles and provide stress relief. If this is what is helping you with the pain management that's great...but muscle relaxants can become addictive.
1653969 tn?1390331661 The instant sleep thing will go away after you establish a routine with it. Wish that I could really help you - but yours isnt a common complaint with flexeril. Do you do any breathing exercises? A couple of minutes of tai chi and meditation and particularly the breathing exercises are very valid therapies.
Avatar f tn Now I have 3 doctors writing me scripts for 60 Vicodin, 30 Vicodin and 60 Hydrocodone 650 tab. I want to quit and not sure cold turkey is safe. I know my neck will still hurt and feel like someone stabbed me but I can't take the lies and manipulation of acquiring enough pain medicine anymore. I am cranky and quick to anger when I don't take at least 6 a day. That and I have gained 35 pounds because I HAVE to have sugar-candy and cereal and icecream.
Avatar m tn I'm so sorry your daughter is having such problems. Chronic intractable pain has been one of the most debilitating symptoms I have. I don't know how old your daughter is, but my symptoms began to emerge when I was in college. I was unknowingly exacerbating the pain by wearing halter tops, racer back sports bras, bikinis that around the neck, etc. Before I made that connection (and on other "bad days" too), I missed lecture after lecture because I couldn't even move my head.
Avatar f tn Alcohol and flexeril are both central nervous system suppressants and consuming alcohol while taking flexeril compounds the drowsiness, confused thinking, respiratory suppression of the muscle relaxant. Flexeril/alcohol combos are frequent causes of accidental overdose. I would avoid the alcohol while taking the flexeril completely. If you already were consuming alcohol, I would skip the flexeril for at least 12 hours or more, depending upon how much alcohol you consumed.
1274661 tn?1301868321 I was given the Chlorzoxaone (Muscle Relaxer) to try and ween me down from taking so much Excedrin (That is going to be tough!). I usually take Flexeril at night, so she wants me to switch to this other one for 5 - 10 days and then go back to the Flexeril. I am just always so leary of new meds as I usually experience side effects.
1457315 tn?1288459746 Wry neck? That what Dr. said. Medrol dose pack twice. vicodin flexeril. C collar . massages and traction. Chiropractor. Cured! Now........It is starting up again? I don't want to go through all of that again. What is making my neck go WRY? A physical therapist at work said sleeping under a ceiling fan. Any thoughts?
1563995 tn?1296002197 hey lexus just a warning watch it with that flexeril it's a little demon of it's own i know what they say about it but there full of it, i heard it's just as bad if not worse quitting those so be careful and don't trade one for the other just some advice if your at a week i would flush that garbage down the toilet....hope your feeling better ..jeff..
Avatar f tn Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
