Taking cipro with milk

Common Questions and Answers about Taking cipro with milk

cipro

Avatar f tn Do not take Cipro with calcium, milk, yogurt, probiotics or with Nexium (which contains magnesium). Cipro is a quinalone, and is effective against mycobacteria, which don't have cell walls, but is not effective against other many strains of bacteria. The taking of an anti-viral is a mixed blessing. Go to the FDA site for information on Valtrex. A culture should have been taken, but this isn't done very often these days.

Avatar f tn Has anyone had any problems with heart rhythm and taking cipro? I have read the side effects and it's scaring me. I don't have any QT prolongations but I sure have other rhythm problems.
Avatar f tn I have had trouble taking medicine before because it made me sick. The doctor should be able to prescribe something for nausea to help keep them down. Also ask the pharmacist....I am sure there is an OTC remedy for that as well. I know the feeling. I had pneumonia and I was as sick as a dog. I couldn't keep the meds down until I got something for the nausea that they were causing. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar m tn Not a happy ending. Cipro has been used with MRSA infections, which, untreated have a 20% mortality. Taking yogurt with Cipro allows the MRSA to spread out of control. In this case imageine a fire just starting. You can put out a match with a cup of water. Once the fire has engulfed the home thousands of gallons of water may be required. Avatar f tn All the tests of the stool, urine, ultrasound of gall bladder all came back negative - healthy liver, gall bladder, pancreas and kidneys. I was on Cipro and did fine for one week and now am taking Nexium and starting Culturelle tonight. I had a severe stomach attach for 3 days when tried Lactaid milk. I am now off of Cipro since no bacteria found in stool.
Avatar f tn Any positive feedback on taking Cipro? Diagnosed with bladder infection. Took first dose this morning. Scared to take second after reading all bad stuff. The only thing I feel is a little tingly in arm and hand.
Avatar m tn 3 days later i was hospitalized with infectious colitis. stayed 3 days and they did cat scan(radiation) and had me on flagyl and cipro very strong broad spectrum drugs. ever since then i have occasional gut discomfort and diarrhea. lately i seem to have symptoms more often. i went to a gastroenterologist and he suggest limitiing alcohol consumption.. i stopped drinking my beer and drank tons of milk hoping to soothe my stomach..
Avatar n tn s possible that you may have skewed the bacterial count and type in your GI tract with the antibiotic use - and Cipro and flagyl are two of the big offenders, but not the only ones. I don't know where you're from, but pick up some probiotics and use them. You may have to be on them for several months to start to make some changes, but do it. Some decent brands are Culturelle, Digestive Advantage-IBS and FloraQ.
Avatar n tn So I got diagnosed with gonorrhea and have been taking Cipro for 3 days now. However, the side effects of gonorrhea (pain while urinating, and yellow puss disharge) have only gotten worse. There is more discharge, and the pain has become excrusciating to the point that tears are shed. I want to get rid of this soon, or atleast the pain and drainage. I am afraid that I may have a Cipro-resistant strain seeing that nothing has improved and has only worsen ten-fold.
Avatar m tn My symptoms seem to be gone however would it be a bad idea to stop taking the Cipro? I know people say you should always finish a course of antibiotics but in this case I dont know if I need them.
Avatar m tn For about 5 days this continued, then I started taking cipro 500 mg 2xdaily. I have been on cipro no for 4 days and it felt better after the first few days the chills and frequent urination has come back. What should I do at this point?

Avatar n tn I was prescribed CIPRO I believe it was in 2010 for an infection. After just taking if for a couple of dosages I broke out in a SEVERE rash and huge whelps on my legs (look like I was beaten with a belt). I went back to the doctor the next day because the pain was so severe and she put me on a different med. This rash and whelps continued for a full week with severe pain.
Avatar m tn s recommend in terms of when i may begin to lift weights and do high intensity cardio again? i will be taking my last dose of cipro on monday which is just 1 pill most likely i will take it at around 7 or 8 am monday- 5/30/2016. i also forgot to mention i was doing a job that had me jump from the top of a parapet wall down on to the roof multiple times about 5 hours before i was prescribed cipro so i am thinking it is just physical use related pain of the achilles.
Avatar m tn so i was diagnosed with a uti and prescribed ciprofloxacin i have to note that i have taken cipro once before and had no adverse effects that i can remember, i have now taken 3 cipro pills out of the 10 prescribed and i noticed some pain in the Achilles tendon area, but on the other hand i work in roofing and i was having to jump over some parapet walls on the roof and such i received my prescription for cipro 5/25/16 it is now 5/26/16 8:40 pm, as i said before the first time i took cipr
Avatar f tn I recently took Cipro for an urinary tract infection, I didn't have any problem with the drug. It cleared it up in no time. Everyone is different though.
Avatar f tn Cipro has a lot of side effects. Have you looked them up? I am not saying come off it but what you are experiencing could be from that. It stays in your system long after you take it. Are you still taking pain meds? I can't remember if Cipro causes constipation but pain meds do for sure. Are you taking any stool softeners to help? Ginger or peppermint tea help a lot with bloating as well as a heating blanket. When you mean blocked do you mean constipated blocked?

1580703 tn?1651904887 I travelled to Indonesia and soon became sick with an infection, migraine, fever, diarrhea, nausea and was treated with cipro. 1 month after returning to the US I began to have chronic fatigue, sleep apnea, asthma, wheezing and I've been tired for over a year. I had high blood sugar but it has been normal now for a few weeks on medication. I had an IGE that was about 145 and low IGG subset 3, high WBC, normal EOS%.
10866013 tn?1413399900 am new to the site. I would like to post a few items and some follow up to our struggle. My wife contacted a rash November 2013 right around the time she had a bladder infection and taking Cipro. We assumed it was Cipro but rash remained. Dr assumed Scabies and again that's a negative. We did 3 skin biopsies and all negative for IGG, IGA, IGM, C3, C5B-9 and fibrogen. Next visit was to do a patch test on back and two items came positive: bacitracin and Nickel.
