Depo Provera { Started 5/20/2010, Last Shot 2/9/2012 } Before I started getting the Depo Provera Injections I always had a normal, slightly heavy period. Minimal cramping. After taking Depo Provera for 1 year I finally lost my periods.

Well I got with a new partner so I began taking the depo provera again and this time things are going smooth bled for the first 2 weeks and then the bleeding stopped. Well I started taking antibiotics for an infected tattoo and then i remembered that antibiotics can mess with birth control and it came back negative so I was no longer worried.

My girlfriend started using the depo-provera shot about a month ago. We abstained from sex for a week after the injection just to be safe. Two weeks after the injection we had to make a visit to her family practice doctor because we had a hunch that she had a bladder infection. We were right. The doctor prescribed her to take 250 mg of Ciprofloxacin twice daily and of course Phenazopyridine for the pain.

So I've been on depo for 9.months now and got my renewal shot and antibiotics for 10 days on the same day, how long should I wait before having unprotected sex? How will they effect eachother????

I get pregnant pretty easily and was on depo, like the other ladies that was my only form of birth control, and I never got pregnant while on it and got pregnant just as I had before after I stopped it!! I gained a little bit of weight as well, you just have to be careful!!! Didn't know about it being less effective when on antibiotics, thanks martikadragoon!!!

I would like to say that my doctor actually went to a seminar regarding depo and calcium loss and their is no substantial evidence that state this is true. I've been on depo for nearly 10 years straight with no calcium loss. I actually quit depo because of that rumor, and I gravely regret that. After visiting my doctor, he found this seminar and went just to learn more about my inquiry of the long term effects.

Hello (: i also was on depo for a long period of time. From when I was 17 til 21. Wen I got off depo I did have quite a bit of bleeding for awhile but it eventually subsided. Have u been taking calcium supplements daily as recommended to do so while on depo? I didn't have any of the problems as far as pain like u did but then again I was taking calcium pills.

Since your girlfriend was not on taking it regularly there might have been a period when she had sex while not on depo.

I am little confused by your question. The depo provera shot is given once every three months not for three months at some unspecified interval. If you mean that you received the depo shot 4 months ago, and hence, the last month, you did not get a repeat depo shot, then the answer to your question is, yes, you can get pregnant. I was on the depo shot for about 5 years before stopping to try to conceive. It took me 3 years to conceive my son who is 6 years old.

it depends on why you aren't getting your period but in general its hard to get pregnant without a period because you would probably ovulate randomly but its not impossible so since you don't have a period you would need to take a pregnancy test 2 weeks after the last time you had unprotected sex

Hi everyone, I haven't been on in like 5 months. If you don't know me, my husband and I have been trying to have a baby for over two years. I haven't been on because we stopped trying for a little while. But I'm back. This is something I want so bad I can taste it. I'm not ovulating and my OB won't give me anything to induce it. I know you posted this post a while ago but do you know all the facts about depo-provera. I was on it for 2 and a half years and came off it to ttc in aug 08 i am still trying 18 months later as the depo made me infertile, it could take 2 years for the depo alone to leave your system. I was due for my last shot in July but Decided I wanted to stop taking birth control. I got my period as expected and then didn't get the shot. A week later i got my period again, and then about 2 or 2 1/2 weeks i got my period again. Now it has been about 5 weeks without a period.

I took provera 10mg for 10 days on November to help my period come after taking the depo and my pariod never came. The last depo shot i took was on April 2009. and nothing. I will like the reason or if i can concive i always been regular on my period. I want have an other baby..
