Taking advil with prednisone

Common Questions and Answers about Taking advil with prednisone

advair

advil is a minor anti inflammatory I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflammation
I read your post to Joni686, with regard to MSM for hair loss. Do you take the 3,000mg of MSM in one capsule daily, or if not how many mg do you take at a time and how many times a day to equal the daily 3,000mg. I used to take the MSM for joint pain but that was a while back and I forgot how much I use to take, but I'm glad you reminded me of it, since I think it did help some at the time. I mostly have tingling, pins & needle pain from my hip down to my toes. Advil, Aleve etc.
If you don't need it then don't take it but if you are taking prednisone, do taper your dose rather than stopping cold turkey. Sudden prednisone withdrawal can be very dangerous so be careful. There is no upside in agonizing over whether it may have negatively impacted your treatment. If you are really that anxious about it then you might consider getting a PCR/TMA test and see if you're still undetectable.
It has moved from my toe to my elbow and REALLY hurts. The doc gave me a shot of prednisone and a pack of pills with 1 less per day for a week. My question is I think prednisone is an immunosupprecent and IFN is the opposite, so are the two drugs working against each other? Idon't want to jepordise my treatment but I don,t think I could handle the pain for another 10 weeks. Vicoden didn't help at all. Don't have to touch it , just look a little too hard at it really makes it hurt.
i am currently taking prednisone for a lupus flare. i have not officially been dx with lupus yet, but my doc said that she blieves that is what is making me sick. i have the history in the family of lupus, my own medial history, and the present medical symptoms of this disease, as well as some labs. my ana tests have all come out negative. my doc agrees with me on negative ana lupus. she said that happens to people alot, where they have lupus, but have on going negative ana tests.
I was searching to see about taking Prednisone with Avonex since I have developed Temporal Arteritis and am taking the Prednisone for that and tonight is shot night. I was wondering about the two together. I think you all have answered my question. I take two 8 hour Tylenol or Ibuprofen before my injection. I go to bed immediately and only occasionally suffer any "flu-like" symptoms. I guess everyone has to just experiment and find what works for them.
Eat with everything you take - take it with a large class of milk, eat crackers, or something. Advil will also eat your stomach. Speak to the pharmacist about your discomfort and if you can take any OTC meds and when and how to take them. I take steroids to live and you can only take the acid reducers in a certain way in order not to reduce the potency of the other meds you are on. Talk to your doctor as well - but eat.
The only side effect is some memory problems but that might be age related??? I also take 800 mg Advil BID and Prednisone PRN. My question is - if I stop taking the hydromorphone, will I suffer a withdrawal? As doses go, is 4mg a large dose?
Has anyone heard of prednisone causing this particular symptom? I am now taking hydrocodone for the pain when one advil was enough yesterday. If I knew it was a side effect of the meds then i would just deal with it the best i could but if I need treatment then off I go to the ER. Thanks for any help.
However, I also have very tender lymph nodes all over my neck and under my chin. I've been taking Augmentin and Prednisone in case there is an infection causing this, but so far no drastic improvement. Also did Benadryl a few days in case of an allergic reaction causing this but that hasn't improved it either. Today I went to my ENT (who in the past had recommended sinus surgery) and he agreed with the other Dr.
One thing I have been doing when it happens is taking panadeine forte and then laying down with an icebag on my head. I do think the ice helps.
so far i can hear normally and am planning to keep taking the dramamine.i will also confer with my doctor about it also.i hope this may help others that have eustacion dysfunction.
The spasm cough causes it all and when it goes away (usually 4 to 5 days) things are relatively normal although a normal cough stays with me for weeks after. I notice if I catch it early (which means I carry antibiotics with me all the time) it is not as nearly as bad. Doctors have diagnosed this as Asthma, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma etc etc. All different specialists seem to have a different prognosis and the recommended pills over the years have not really done any good.
during that time i learned alot about my self, and my motivations. at 39 i started taking pain meds, i had no experence with these, and i found my self addicted and doing things i did not want to do agian, taking pain meds for real pain throws a monkey wrench into the whole mess, how to take pain meds without killing myself. im clean now , but i suffer pain . but i just accept it and deal with it.
my stubborn refusal to take a drug isn't recommended by either Prof Jelinek or the medical profession. My neuro has pleaded with me to reconsider taking either Gilenya or Tsyabri. I absolutely recognise that my gradual improvement since May might have been as a result of the Copaxone, or my program, or simply the natural course of my individual disease. It can't be proven either way.
This was a huge surprise! I am taking a regimine of Prednisone, have been getting frequent massages, and using ice packs. I am much better, but not 100% by far (still have that nagging pulling sensation). This is the first x-ray I've had since the initial onset at age 22. I was told MANY moons ago that I have scoliosis in my thoracic region, so I always assumed my problem was due to that.
I have found that early diagnosis with frequent early follow-up, along with an initially more intensive treatment strategy, is crucial in optimizing the best outcomes in this disease. MEDICATION Q. I am 66, recently given a diagnosis of R.A. Was put on methotrexate/prednisone/folic acid. Am currently being weaned off prednisone. What are the long-term effects of methotrexate on the body? — globro, New York A.
When and if I find something that helps, I will post. Meanwhile, my thoughts are with all of us who have these crazy symptoms with no answers. Hang in there.
Hi astroturf I would also describe myself as anxious and a worrier I'm not on any meds I do clench my teeth and grind them at night I have a TON of floaters, since I was a kid I have migraine with aura I cannot see the spots in the dark, unless I'm watching TV or on the computer etc They are most noticeable against light backgrounds, the sky and when glancing at anything with contrast. horizontal blinds and lined paper are awful.
The only side effect is some memory problems but that might be age related??? I also take 800 mg Advil BID and Prednisone PRN. My question is - if I stop taking the hydromorphone, will I suffer a withdrawal? As doses go, is 4mg a large dose?
Xyzol Fexofenadine Prednisone Singulair Pepcid AC I'm not taking Prednisone as of 2 days ago, although the doctor said that I should keep it around in case of a bad flare-up (which happened this morning). I started taking Advil this morning. Should I be concerned about any of those drugs? Thanks!
Also, Ive been taking advil regularly to deal with the acheyness.
My daughter was diagnosed with pericarditis after having undergone two ablations in close order in October and November. She is currently taking Colchicine twice a day along with naprosen and #5 vicodin as needed. The pain has become unbearable and she has been forced to drop one class from her 3L law school schedule and reduce the time she works in the clinic. Her EP is hesitant to put her on a steroid protocol, but I can't find any other treatment that might help her.
Within the past year I noticed that after taking Advil I started breaking out with hives under my eye. I have never had this problem then it started. I was wondering if anyone has ever had this happen to them and what if any were the causes identified. I am 30 years old and a smoker. Also, it doesn't happen all the time but only sometimes. I don't know what would cause this to happen and not consistently. For example, this morning I took it and I was fine.
Thanks so much for the comment. I really appreciate it! I have been taking advil every 5 hours & I have had some releif. Thanks again!
This year he was diagnosed with high blood pressure and was placed on Atenolol. Is there any connection with being on Atenolol and getting gout so many times this year. This last bout with gout he was given a total of 33 predisone tablets and after decreasing and finally finishing the prescription two days later the gout returned. He has not been eating any meat, including chicken, shellfish, no tomato sauces, doesn't drink alcohol and has been taking Cherry drink concentrate daily.
However, I have been taking Advil since then, even though the pain is not gone. Could you tell me the symptoms of a blood clot, stroke or any idea what this pain may be related with?
Ibuprophen interacts with beta blockers interfering with their ability to lower blood pressure. I would think if you aren't taking beta blockers it would have very little if any effect on your blood pressure.
and I am desperately trying to figure out why I continue to break out in hives and have joint pain in my elbows, feet, hands and legs. I too started breaking out in hives after taking the antibotic Solodyn for acne. After a trip to the ER, it was assumed that I had an alergic reaction to the medicine. I stopped taking the medicine after only 3 weeks and needless to say, I am still breaking out in hives and have joint pain. I have been tested for allergies and that was negative.
Can only take Prednisone and not the Imuran. Have to take Nexium to get along with the Prednisone even. My doctor has added Cellcept which works really good. I have some other autoimmune diseases too. When were you diagnosed? Have you had a biopsy yet? Have you got into remission yet? Glad to find someone else with AIH to compare notes with. If you want to save this forum space for the Hep C's, why don't you email me at aaapattie@tri-lakes.net. I get a lot of junk email.
