Avatar f tn s a dangerous combination. Is it safe to take them both together or should I be replacing the propranolol with the fluoxetine?
1534233 tn?1523388856 The leaflet says in block capitals it should be before food, I ahve been doing this but did ask the doctor who said it doesnt really matter when I take them with relation to food and shouldnt make any difference. I tried taking them just at 6 am 2 pm and 10 pm and eat at my normal times and they didnt seem to work as well. Its rather incovenient having to try and plan small meals or snacks which remain healthy but can be eated at the times the pills need to be taken.
Avatar n tn I take Gabapentin only as needed when the pain from neuritis (right cheek) gets bad. Most of the time I take Essiac (available at health food stores for pain relief). When it gets too bad I take Naproxen. When I first got Fibromyalgia, I was all bent over with pain - could hardly walk and it was a chore to get out of bed in the morning. I can truly say that Essiac has helped me tremendously. But, since your body is not my body, I don't know if it would help you.
Avatar f tn I would always buy my supplements in a good health food store, meaning not GNC. The staff can direct you to the better brands. Bee pollen is best taken from a local beekeeper in kind of powder form (it's actually kind of like little pebbles, a bit like lecithin), but it's almost impossible to find nowadays. You don't want Chinese bee pollen -- it's dead. If it's really cheap, don't buy it.
Avatar n tn m trying to fix my problem but i want to know if the combination of coke and propranolol is dangerous. Please provide me with an answer. All I could get off the net was that one should avoid cocaine while taking propranolol . Is combining propranolol (beta-blocker) with cocaine dangerous and why?
Avatar n tn The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.
Avatar m tn You should discus this with your doctors. Propranolol is a beta blocker. Beta blockers are known to cause shortness of breath for anyone taking them. This can be magnified in an asthma patient. Take care.
10894761 tn?1413637884 It's not dangerous to take a beta blocker. Also, 10 mg of propranolol is a very low dose. Don't worry about getting a slightly slower heart rate at night. On the other hand, an average of 81 isn't dangerously high, so you don't really have to take a beta blocker if you don't want to. It's up to you. What I would do (instead of spending money on seeing a cardiologist just for a second opinion) is to try propranolol for some weeks.
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar n tn I asked to take her off the propranolol to see if it would make a difference but the cardiologist said that she is in danger of morbid arrhythmia and that her arrhythmia was wildly out of control. They told me she was having 3-4 PACs in a row constantly. Is this really dangerous? I read that children often have PACs and is not dangerous. Now that she is on the propranolol, her PACs have become less frequent and the cardiologist has mentioned up titrating the propranolol.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
1325672 tn?1290084214 Hi Grampy, I was told to take OxyContin or any narcotic with food. However as Jaybay said you should check with your pharmacist. He/she may also have additionally suggestions for you to help ease your stomach issues. If you weren't told, the literature says you should avoid grapefruit and grapefruit products. That's a given with most all narcotics. If effects the action of the some medications and narcotics are generally one of them. But again check with your pharmacist.
Avatar f tn She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar n tn can i take 5mg diazepam and 10mg propranolol together and what is the best dosage to work effectively for panic attacks and anxiety when public speaking?
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
Avatar f tn My OB put me back in propranolol today and said it should help with the palpitations but I’m concerned because my heart rate seems really low to me and I know it lowers it to help blood pressure. Also I’m nursing I was told that it palpitations could be caused by that?? I have no family history of heart failure, disease or anything so I’m not sure if that makes a difference. What could cause all of these?

Avatar f tn Was originally diagnosed with stress induced anxiety in March and was sent to see a shrink. went in to Dr last month complaining of hot flashes and he ordered blood work to see if I was in menopause. Guess what? I have hyperthyroidism. ( was ecstatic at first that I'm not crazy after all) . Am currently on 5mg of methimazole 3 times a day. Causes itching, hives, and welts. Unbearable! Endo put me on propranolol 10mg twice a day.
Avatar f tn I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime. Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime? Thank you.
10610562 tn?1411418414 So, I am a 29 year old male. 5'7" 130lbs. I was put on propranolol to reduce the heart rate, as well to possible help with my anxiety and panic. This medication worked really well for me. It helped ease my mind, enough to where I felt more comfortable leaving the house and being productive. It completely got rid of my embarrassingly shaky hands. I was so happy. Then, I noticed my asthma was being severely effected.
Avatar f tn Hello!. Adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with propranolol therapy are similar to other lipophilic beta blockersBeta blockers, including propranolol, have an additive effect with other drugs which decrease blood pressure, or which decrease cardiac contractility or conductivity. So the short story is that"yes"it probably is the beta blocker. But saying that see how you get on with them,it will take at least one- two weeks to really settle down.
1243620 tn?1274790697 Does anyone take propranolol for anxiety and panic attacks? I've had crippling anxiety for my whole life. Antidepressants increase it to the point where I'm in such a state I almost pass out from hypervenitlating. I've heard propranolol is good for this, and is effective.
