Common Questions and Answers about Take accutane with milk

accutane

Avatar m tn i simply stopped drinking milk and went with almond milk. i stopped with soda and chips. i bought this semi expensive product called tanda its a blue light therapy. I dont now which one did it for me either the milk or the tanda but i beleive it is more milk than tanda. Milk has hormones and everytime i drank milk i would get these huge unsightly cysts. i am truly acne free. aother thing i recommend is getting a beard trimmer for your son.
Avatar f tn I fear this drug has damaged my organs in some way, and have read that accutane/isotretinoin is associated with IBS. However, these are the only symptoms I'm having--and am hoping there might be another explanation for my symptoms. I'm scared. Is any of this reversible? This discussion is related to mucus in diarrhea.
Avatar n tn Steroid rosacea is possible. I suggest stopping all steroids, by cream or by mouth. Topical antibiotics like metronidazole may help. If you weren't on Accutane, oral doxycycline might be useful, but you can't take that while taking Accutane (which may itself help if you finish off the course and don't use steroids any more.) This rash may take some time to heal, but it should in the end go away completely. Milk and food have nothing to do with it that I can think of. Best. Dr.
Avatar n tn To my knowledge, there is no specific contraindication to the use of accutane in patients with MS. To my knowledge, accutane does not have drug interactions with the other medications that you are on. As a patient with MS, you can expect to have the same risks and side effects as other people on accutane, and these side effects and risks need to be discussed with you by your dermatologist before you start taking it.
Avatar f tn forum hoping for a more detailed response regarding the use of accutane in those with abnormal scarring who do not have what would be considered "severe" acne.
Avatar f tn t think there is any correlation with ANA and Raynauds. I know the fun that everyone has with Raynauds and my oldest daughter is one of them. One day while she was sitting in class the cold are from the vent above her caused her to have a "flare up". The school nurse had to wrap her in a blanket and take her out side to sit in the sun to warm up and stop the pain it was causing.
Avatar m tn since when I was young I used this medicine for my acne and I searched in the internet many have the same story with me - I mean using Isotretinoin (Accutane) and then Proctitis or Ulcerative Colitis. what is your idea ?
Avatar n tn Know this post was written a while ago, but wanted to put my two cents in anyways. I took Accutane when I was 16, about 6 years ago, and almost immediately after I finished my course I developed severe joint pain and swelling. I saw a rheumatologist and was diagnosed with lupus, and joint pain is one of the symptoms I deal with to this day. I'm 100% positive that the Accutane, being such a powerful drug, triggered the lupus.
Avatar f tn Advice for those who are going to take accutane! it might be a wonder drug for some people but also on the other hand it might not work for some. if you are feeling any pains(or side effects) due to the drug. don't neglect them. because pain is the symptom telling you that something is going wrong in your body! BEST OF LUCK!
Avatar m tn Take accutane, i'm 17 now and went on it when I was 16 and it worked wonders and keeps tje acne away, I had moderate acne and oily skin too....I play Major Junior hockey and it didn't affect my play in a negative bodily way, it boosted my confidence if anything!......I did a 4 month treatment of it on a lower dose so I would reccommend that, higher doses are for sever cases like grade 4 or between 3 and 4.....
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm on accutane. This is my third time on it. I take 40 mg alternating 80 mg every other day. I've been taking it for 4 months now. After taking it for a month and a half I've been getting rashes on my face.. It is fleshed colored and doesn't itch. In the beginning I would use a steroid cream and it would go away very quickly but not anymore. I use cetaphil cream on my face twice daily. I have not changed and products that I use on my face, nor laundry detergent.
Avatar f tn I'm a 17 year old girl who has always been healthy - I eat well balanced food and take care of my health. However, in the previous month something changed. I started feeling anxious for no reason, I can hear my heart beating and although my pulse was always kind of fast, I think it got even faster. A week ago I noticed that when I wake up and go to sleep my throat hurts a little, like something scratched it, I am sneezing quite often and my nose feels weird.
Avatar f tn I know better as I am writing this to you now I have pain and discomfort that is so intense it feels like I am dying.. I have a hard time with all sorts of foods too.. Anyways I was just curious about that Accutane and need more info on that to figure out rather or not I have a lead on my situation.. Thanks :) btw my ct scan w/ contrast showed I have IBD and the CT tech even said there is inflammatory bowel disease going on with me...
Avatar n tn Regarding the surgery for fibroadenoma, I would suggest you to discuss it with your daughter’s surgeon. Accutane may increase the chances of post surgery keloid formation and so I would suggest you to discuss this point with your daughter’s surgeon. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn Then the obvious, no smoking, drugs, drinking. No Accutane, if you are taking any acne medicine with a Vitamin A derivative. Then, dump the extra "empty calories," the sugars and carbs that you should stay away from anyway, and eat a really balanced diet of lean meats, fruits, veggies, milk. Stay away from fish that might have heavy metals. (Sometimes that is tricky. Wild-caught salmon from Alaska is a yes, farmed salmon from the Atlantic is a no.
Avatar f tn Accutane is about the worst med you can take while pregnant. Get immediate attention from the doctor. I work in pharmacy and know how very controlled it is with women especially. I don't know if only three pills will do any damage, but do not take anymore!
Avatar n tn 17 year old daughter having stomach issues, just got a positive test for celiac, has bad acne, derm wants to put her on accutane. I am worried about the accutane and her stomach. Not sure celiac is only cause of stomach aches. Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. She is back on the pill for almost 3 months and it is not working. Why?
Avatar m tn I never had any of the depression problems that some associate with accutane. I need some advice..I know the pain he is enduring every day at school and I want to help him..is accutane the answer?
Avatar n tn I'm a guy, 20 years old, and took accutane back in 2008 for only 3 months. Stopped early because of thinning hair in mass amounts. Doctors and dermatologists don't want to attribute accutane as the cause to something like this because quite frankly, the accutane doesn't often do its damage in massive amounts as quickly to really show a "drastic difference" or whatever.
Avatar m tn Majority of cases of cystic acne can be successfully treated with one 4-6 month course of isotretinoin (Accutane) at a dosage of 0.5-2.0 mg/kg body weight per day (approximately 40-160 mg per day in your case). Continued recovery and prolonged remission after discontinuation of therapy is expected, so it is not required to maintain treatment until total clearance is achieved. Progress you made should not be lost. However, in some, most severe cases, second course of therapy may be needed.
Avatar n tn ve gotten from accutane. I also suggest to try and drink as much water as possible and take cranberry pills. Accutane is very strong so you should drink plenty of water.
