2093628 tn?1332979308 Have you tried Autologous ( Blood serum ) eye drops...? Check into them. They are drops that are made from your own dogs, or a donor dogs blood. They worked well for my Yorkie, but, we had to discontinue, because the donor dogs owner decided to stop donating. Anyway, Ask the vet school about them. As far as the surgeries go, check in often, as other members who have knowledge of, or experience with the surgeries may reply.
Avatar n tn can I use flax seed oil for eye drops for my dog? We have tried antibiotics, tacrolimus, and all over the counter drops but nothing seems to help, someone suggest flax seed oil but will only try this if I know it will not harm her in any way.
Avatar m tn We have tried a couple of different forums but not much response. We also are trying to find out all the pros & cons before we have surgery done. Right now we are using Cyclosporine & Tacrolimus drops 3 times a day plus Genteal severe dry eye gel every hour (6AM –10PM) to keep his eyes comfortable. Luckily there is someone home all day. Our opto said he would check saliva just before the operation.
Avatar f tn Can tacrolimus eye drops and Cyclosporine ointment cause cancer in dogs? My precious dog, baby and best friend was diagnosed just last week with Transitional Cell Carcinoma in his bladder. It is a rapid growing cancer. I am completely heartbroken and am wondering if there was something I could've done to prevent this. He has been on these two eye medications for about a year. His name is Duke and he is a beautiful tri-colored collie and is a little over 10 years old.
Avatar f tn Tacrolimus eye drops, while they do work, come with the added risk of bladder cancer, so while they ARE a possible alternative, they are not without their problems. If the Optimmune keeps the condition from worsening, even though it doesn't clear it up, it may be the lesser of the evils.
Avatar m tn She has been on many medications. Tacrolimus, cyclsporine, pilocarpine, neopolydex, gentamycin, tobramycin, simplicef, gabapenten, genteal drops, oint. gel, refresh, blink, now she is also taking tramadol for pain. She has been wearing the hood for 6 months to prevent her for scratching her eyes. She just turned 4 and and she is in so much pain, We finally decided to have surgery and have found out it is 2600.00 per eye. I am very worried it won't work.
Avatar m tn (interestingly though, a few days before at the vet, the schirmer test was 12 in both eyes). Now 6 weeks later, the right eye has a 6 and the left eye still has 0. The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus.
Avatar m tn All eye drops can have side effects. Like other medications they are printed on the prescribing information you are given every time you buy a new bottle. EVERYONE: ALWAYS READ THE INFORMATION GIVEN YOU BY THE PHARMACIST AND DRUG COMPANY WHEN YOU GET MEDICATIONS. The most common side effect of bromondine are red irritated eyes and inflamed eyelid margins. This occurs in 8 to 20% of users.
Avatar m tn Please note that I had briefly experimented with the carnosine drops alone, but find that they work much better if you also use MSM drops. MSM serves to make the eye structures more elastic and permeable.
12270954 tn?1424407445 I don’t know if his eye will heal and be normal or if I’ll have to give him eye drops for the rest of his life, much less, which eye drops do I give him?! (tear production drops, artificial tears, Tacrolimus, Genteal, I-Drops, Collidad Silver) I don’t know if the Cyclosporine will help produce tears or if it will give him cancer. I don’t know if he will go blind or they will want to take his eye out! I know one thing for sure, the saliva duct surgery sounds awful! Sorry for going on and on.
Avatar m tn Due to a bad water supply I cannot do so with tap water but I have been told that eye drops for dry eyes are sufficient for cleaning out the eye. Would these drops be sufficient for cleaning the eye out if toothpaste did get in? I know it sounds like a minor complaint but I have had trouble in the pat with them so am very conscious of looking after them. Thank you.
Avatar n tn After a year of multiple eye infections, a doctor told me to keep my fingers away from my eyes. Get some good eye drops (do not get the kind that say it will take the red out...get the ones that only moisturize your eyes) and every time you want to scratch or touch your eyes, use the drops instead. I had to wear glasses all the time in order to break the habit pf scratching them. It worked for me. I stopped getting eye infections.
Avatar n tn I went to a chemist he gave me some allergic medicine and eyebrex eye drops. I put the eye drops in for 3 days, my eye stopped getting red. But 2 weeks after that my right eye got red again. And when i stop using contacts it gets white again. What should i do about my condition?
574219 tn?1217352418 We sterilize a long pin with a head that we use to stick the capsule of the oil, then the oil gets squeezed on the eye without touching it, just 1-2 drops is fine for each affected eye, do this about 4 times a day, if the eye is super dry add a little Bausch & Lomb Soothe PM relief, it is just pure petroleum and mineral oil specially designed for the eye with no other chemicals.
Avatar n tn ve gone to the doctor multiple times and have been perscribed various eye drops that should help but I still end up contracting it. The doctor said to just continue with the drops and I have follwed the instructions to a "t" yet I still get it while using the drops. No, I do not touch the dropper to my eye. It's now affecting my vision even when my eyes are clear of the redness and mucus.
Avatar m tn i found i have to wear sunglasses even when its not sunny out....and really have to watch out for chlorine...i'll grab some eye drops...thanks...
Avatar m tn No if your eye feels hot, dry, burny then artifical tears work better, if they itch allergy drops like Zaditor for better JCH MD
Avatar f tn My eyes are watering and itching so bad and super sensitive to light. Is there over the counter eye drops that are safe for pregnant people to use?
Avatar f tn I recommend you to visit your doctor's clinic to get detailed information about how to take acular eye drops & its dosage. A specialist in eye caring will going to suggest you in better way.
Avatar n tn I have been trying different eye drops for my dry eyes and the irritation. I am on prescription antibiotics as well but for inbetween. I have tried systane, thera tears, natural tears and my doc gave me optive which has perservatives and the others don't but tried them now. Does anyone find one brand better then others and is there issues with using the preservative ones? He said it was fine to use 4 times a day.
Avatar m tn I just had eye surgery. Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?
Avatar m tn I have been using over the counter eye drops (namely, Opcon A) daily for a few years in order to combat my red eyes. With constant use, I have noticed that they do not work nearly as well anymore, and that my eyes are redder than ever. I read into the subject and have learned that with prolonged use, your eye becomes more dependent on the drops and does in fact become redder. Every morning I wake up with eyes that are extremely bloodshot red and uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn Hello doctor thank you for helping me with my question, one more thing [smile] this is really bothering me how come the doctors could not tell that i had eye dialation drops in my eye, why cant a doctor tell the difference between a blown pupil and a dialated pupil on drops thanks so much
