1122836 tn?1259593265 Is taking Armour while pregnant and trying to get pregnant safe? My endo told me if I want to get pregnant, I need to go off the Armour beforehand.
Avatar f tn Can I continue taking Nature Throid at 5 weeks pregnant? I have been taking it for over a year for my thyroid. I take 1 grain daily. My Dr. said I should continue taking it but just wanted a second opinion.
Avatar n tn Do I have this thyroid condition because I am pregnant and will it go away once the baby is born. My doctor placed in my synthroid.. Is this safe for my baby. This discussion is related to High TSH,Normal T4 T3.
Avatar f tn I once had a doctor tell me, that it would be really hard to get pregnant while having hypothyroidism, and it seems he was right. One thing to keep in mind is..you can't rush this medicine, nor your recovery. Take it slowly. Your health needs to be #1 on your priority list right now. Even if you got pregnant now, having not enough amounts of thyroxine in your system can have devastating effects on your child. You may also not feel well enough to take care of the child.
2180858 tn?1337716153 \) and not on ANY adrenal support. And I feel awful. And I'm not sure why you aren't supposed to take thyroid meds when you've got untreated adrenal fatigue, but I am now, and I am just confused as to if this is the right thing to do? Help!!
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism 4 years ago after the birth of my first child. I have been on Synthroid ever since (88 mg). I am pregnant with my third child and am having symptoms- anxiety attacks, insomnia, diarrhea, fatigue, shaky hands, itchy skin. Two weeks ago I increased my vitamin intake by adding B12 soluble and B complex as well as kelp (iodine) and began a Paleo diet (gluten/dairy/sugar free) and cut out caffeine. I had my thyroid checked and the results came back as TSH 1.
Avatar m tn another thing is baby takes the synthroid from you when your pregnant so your meds will have to increase while your pregnant which is ok..baby needs it....im on 112 right now and im 15 weeks...your baby will start taking from you at around 12 weeks when its own thyroid starts to develop! Any more questions just ask..you will prob be asked to get your levels checked frequently too while your pregnant just to make sure your hormones are stable!! But you should be fine...
Avatar f tn I don't take synthroid but I take levothyroxine. . My thyroid got all crazy when I got pregnant. It's fine to take it. . Might have to adjust it a little but its better to take it then to not take it.
Avatar f tn I found out I was pregnant and went to see endo, who immediately changed my dosage to 200 mcg synthroid, and no relief from hives. I just switched to 200 mcg tirosint which has no fillers. It's been a week hives are not a severe but still occur. How long until the synthroid is out if my body so I can find a reason for hives? I suffer daily and don't want to take too much Benadryl while pregnant but hives are unbearable.
Avatar m tn Thyroid problems and Synthroid are tricky. It takes Synthroid 4-6 weeks to reach it's true potential in your blood. Furthermore, the initial dose we take is seldom our "ideal" dose. So, often when we start meds, our symptoms can get worse; it's kind of a "residual" effect of being hypo. FT4 often has to be midrange and FT3 upper half to upper third of range before symptoms are relieved. Give it a while.
Avatar m tn hello hoping someone out there will read and respond to this topic .does the constipation increase because i am pregnant and that my tsh levels are 6.13 or is it just the syptom of the synthetic hormone isn't right yet? my doctor knows i am 8wks pregnant. he has just raised my synthroid levels to 125mcg. but i fear that they should be higher because my constipation is so severe and muscle weakness will this affect my unborn child?
Avatar f tn I am a healthy 36 y/o female with two healthy children...never any problems getting pregnant or sustaining pregnancy. In March 09 doc prescribed Synthroid with these levels: TSH - 1.468, T4 - 10.2, T3 - 166 April tests showed TSH - 1.090, T4 - 12.3, T3 - 164. May tests showed TSH - .358, T4 - 10.8, T3 - 154 July TSH - .147, T4 - 11.
Avatar n tn 075 synthroid. i may be pregnant, and my OB says this is totally fine. I am very stressed though because what i am reading is this may be too high for pregnancy and cause birth defects. i trust my OB... she is one of the best in a big city. what do i do? does anyone know about this???
Avatar n tn I split it up during pregnancy and it did help some but splitting while not being pregnant is throwing my tsh out of wack. I asked about just adding some cytomel to my armour and he said we could try it. Does anybody have any experience taking both armour and cytomel together? Does the synthroid/cytomel combo help? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I think this is just sad. I feel your pain SolBel. There SHOULD be others out there who have tried to be proactive and get off the thyroid medication at some point. Instead there are critical comments about what you are doing and general disbelief that you're even doing it. I am taking 75 mcg of Levo, just started 3 weeks ago and am also newly pregnant. I have been feeling really icky all day, like I have a little brick of ick in my belly and any food turns me off. Morning sickness, right?
Avatar n tn After removal of pheochromocytomas and total neck disection I was put on 125 of Synthroid. I started gaining weight very fast (went from 137lb to 150lb within 2 months - huge deal considering that have been the same weigh +/-3 for over 8 years). I also started to become very depressed. I was switched to 112 Synthroid and 5 Cytomel. The weight stabilized at 142lb - great! However, the depression is still here, I still get tired, and my toes and fingers get uncontrollably cold lately.
Avatar f tn If you are not already get a copy of all your blood test results and make sure they are testing Free T3 and Free T4 during your entire pregnancy. You need a good thyroid doctor while your pregnant. Especially if the one you have now is TSH minded. Do you have any of those results now? Have they tested any of your other vitamin levels. Were you symptomatic before the pregnancy? Are you symptomatic now?
10314769 tn?1409238579 I am taking synthroid for my thyroid. I never had issues with it until I got pregnant. I am on .075 and my thyroid is now normal. I am 27 weeks and my baby is healthy as can be.
548780 tn?1233769602 You should definitely call .. what was your TSH before you began and your condition if you don't mind sharing?
Avatar f tn I agree that your daughter's thyroid numbers look good and that she really might not need to be on thyroid hormones. Amazing that many who really have low levels of thyroid hormones can't get their doctors to give them replacement med and your daughter's doctor gives them when she might not need them. I'd certainly look into other causes for her symptoms, first. How long has she been on the metformin? It does take a while for that to work for some people.
995934 tn?1249619651 i conceived our first baby the first month we started trying so no problems with conception while on synthroid. at that point i was on synthroid for about a year. had the baby fine and all, she's now 4. now preggo w/baby #2 and took about 3 months to conceive this time around, dont know why took so long. was starting to get worried so got ovulation kit which may have helped get preggo. one other note, once u do get pregnant, make sure u get ur levels tested as soon as u found out.
5133140 tn?1364525169 m 32 years old, have two children and was diagnosed with Central Hypothyroidism while pregnant with my second child in 2008. I take 100mcg of synthroid and will be getting an MRI done soon. I'm also going to ask about getting a TRH stimulation test. I'm curious how many others here have Central Hypothyroidism; I know it is more rare. If you have it, can you share your story/experience? Thank you!
327369 tn?1326119908 I also bloated substantially when I started on Synthroid. Prior to that, I never had any issue with stomach weight, weight in general, or constipation. Within two weeks of starting the Synthroid, my stomach looked like I was four months pregnant, and going to the bathroom was a feat. Was recently switched to Tirosint, and I'm waiting to see how that goes.
Avatar n tn Deffinitely stop with the phentermine...I'm not sure about the synthroid but the phentermine hasn't been studied with pregnant women however woman taking it with the other fen (can't remember the name) had a miscarriage rate of 1/3 as opposed to the normal miscarriage rate of 12-15%. Call your doctor to talk about your situation as only they and a pharmacist will know best. Good luck!
Avatar f tn The last TSH level was 4.3 and i was already taking Synthroid ( alretnating the dose one day 12.5 mg and the other 25 mg).Currently taking 25 mg everyday and waiting for my results. T's r in the upper normal range and i have no symptoms. Anyone else pregnant with mild hypo and had similar levels this far in the pregnancy?I was wondering what r my chances of having a healthy baby? Thank you..
