Common Questions and Answers about Synthroid vs nature throid

synthroid

Avatar f tn Where are you finding that Nature-throid is now available again? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Can I continue taking Nature Throid at 5 weeks pregnant? I have been taking it for over a year for my thyroid. I take 1 grain daily. My Dr. said I should continue taking it but just wanted a second opinion.
Avatar f tn I've heard that more Nature Throid is needed versus Armour. Is that what others have found? Dr. I have doesn't know much about dessicated but will prescribe it. I have tried several different meds. Armour (2006 -until reformulated) did okay, never felt wonderful and labs were never where they should be changed to NT 130mg 1 dose (8-09-09) felt worse changed to Synthroid 137mcg (12-15-10) hypo he!!
393685 tn?1425812522 I have been going back and forth from Armour to Nature-throid and I see a much better outcome for me,just sticking with Nature-throid permanently and dropping the Armour totally. One thing to keep in mind. Many new patients that were just put on Armour may not be getting their hypothyroid symptoms under control. It's frustrating I can imagine, doing all that searching and find such positive information on Armour. .................Then trying it - and it fails. ARGH!!!!
Avatar f tn I feel fine taking the Synthroid and feel as though the Liothyronine has been helping greatly, however the cost of Synthroid is way too expensive for me! I was paying $10 per month for Nature-throid and now have to pay $40.00 per month for Synthroid. I have tried Levothyroxine in the past and it disagreed with me greatly.
Avatar f tn About 4 months ago i switched from synthroid to nature throid as i had terrible side effects from the synthroid. At first i was put on the 48mcg of nature throid and for the first time in almost a year i was getting energy back and a slight decrease in brain fog. All my synthroid side effects went away instantly when switching. I took the 48 of naturethroid for 2 1/2 months and although i had energy I still couldnt loose a single pound.
Avatar n tn She said she would give me either Synthroid/cytomel combo or Nature-Throid and recommeded starting with Nature-Throid. I take 125 mcg synthroid now and she wants to start me on one grain, which she said is low, and check my temp every morning and tweak as needed. She also said Hashitmotos is like a roller coaster and I may need varying doses to take when I vary up and down.
Avatar m tn I took nature throid (its nature - throid not nature thyroid) for about 7 months. I found it to be very harsh, caused my thyroid to swell, gave me headaches, and caused me to have trachea pain. I have tried many of the natural thyroid hormones including armour, erfa, and nature throid and for me personally nature throid was the one that caused me so much discomfort i decided to have the total thyroidectomy.
607546 tn?1222299144 Started on Armour the end of June then was changed to Nature throid about 2 1/2 weeks ago.Do you guys think I need an increase? I am on 1 grain. Here are my labs TSH 1.28 Free T4 0.8 range is 0.8 - 1.8 and Free T3 379 range is 230 - 420. Im starting to feel a little hypo.
Avatar f tn call your local pharmacy and ask who is prescribing lots of synthroid or maybe even ask who is prescribing armour and nature throid. the guys who are prescribing armour and nature throid are probably more well versed on thyroid than those just prescribing synthroid. If you don't have any luck with that, call a compound pharmacy in your area and ask who they recommend. THis is a good way to find a good practitioner in your area. I found my dr. this way and love her.
922048 tn?1387942584 I was recently switched from Synthroid (yuck!) to Nature-Throid (yeah!) about 10 days ago. While it was a little bumpy at first with some hyper episodes (I'm guessing due to the very long half life of Synthroid), I am starting to feel a little more like myself today. It's funny, because I noticed certain symptoms improved on Synthroid, but most things didn't. On Nature-Throid some of the same symptoms improved and so did some different ones.
922048 tn?1387942584 ) Any way, I went and saw another doctor who suggested what I had hoped she would - for me to switch to Nature-Throid. I had been on only 50mcg of Synthroid. She started me on 1 grain of Nature-Throid. Today I took half at 5:30am and the other half at 11:30am. I've only been on it for two days now, so I guess it's too soon to know if it will work for me, right? I have been feeling really hypo in the last few days.
Avatar f tn He is reluctant to raise my doseage significantly because I am in the Osteoporosis age, but he is letting me try the nature throid instead of synthroid. Nature throid has t3 and t4. He also told if this doesn't help, then maybe we need to look at trying synthroid and cytomel. I started the nature throid today. I am anxious to see if it helps me feel better.
988694 tn?1332359479 I have been wondering is someone in this forum would be so kind to share with me what is the maximum dose of Nature Throid they are on or have been taking. Is it more than 3 or 4 grains? and if so is your TSH suppressed? for how long have you been taking this dose? and do you need to increase constantly?
1401696 tn?1280838616 He would not give me the Canadian Med. but was willing to let me try Nature Throid. I live in Florida and it was a mission getting it. Today was my first day and I guess I am pretty sensitive to these meds because I had instant energy. No body aches so that's a good sign. What is the best to take this.....I am pretty sensitive. Thanks and I hope my inputs helps anyone going through a NEW Armour nightmare. For me Nature Throids reformulation is pain free. yaaaa.
Avatar f tn Has anyone had their cycle extend once they started synthroid? Mine has been 14-25 days for the past 6 years and since changing from Nature Throid to Synthroid on Dec 15 I haven't had a period. 45 days at least and counting. I've taken 3 pregnancy tests and all are negative (I have a non hormonal IUD) and no symptoms. Any thoughts or comments?
822804 tn?1298226302 Do you feel better after taking the Armour vs taking Synthroid? I have been on Synthroid for almost 3 years and I feel terrible...my dosage has been increased many times,I am currently taking 150mcg of Synthroid(the actual brand name not generic) and I still continue to feel the same.I have asked for a script for Armour because I have heard good things about it because it doesnt just have T4 in it,has T1,2,3 and 4.Any help would be greatly appreciated.I have no thyroid..
Avatar f tn Ok I just swiched from synthroid 112mcg to 2 grains of Nature throid from RLC labs. I cut the 4 grams in half Previous calcium Mar 9.1 Apr 7.7 Ranges 8.4- 10.5 magnesium 2.1 1.7 1.5- 2.5 T4 9.9 7.1 5.0- 12.5 TSH 0.208 0.036 0.350- 4.5 T3 86.
Avatar f tn Is there a difference between the T4 in Synthroid and in Nature Throid/Armour? I was just switched to Synthroid and I'm feeling the difference. All the hypo symptoms are back with a vengence with in 4 days. Took Nature Throid dose to get thru the day. How long does it take for Synthroid T4 to start converting to T3? Is going from 130mg nature Throid to 137mcg of Synthroid normal? It is less T4 that I was getting on NT. Can anyone help me with this? I feel like I'm going crazy.
798555 tn?1292787551 what is nature throid? is it perscription?
Avatar m tn The prednisone is giving your body cortisol, so I'm not sure if you'd still have low cortisol while on it. How long have you been on Synthroid? That kind of fatigue sounds like the typical debilitating fatigue from hypothyroidism. Thinking maybe you haven't been on Synthroid long enough to get the full benefit or, if you have been on it for a while, perhaps you need to be on a higher dose. I happen to be someone who didn't get great results from Synthroid.
Avatar f tn I was losing hair on synthroid and always had low normal ft3 so changed to nature throid..... 7/15 synthroid 100mcg 10/12 1 grain nt 11/30 1.5 grains nature throid tsh 1.48 (.45-4.5) 5.62 .29 ft4 1.48 (.82-1.77) .98 1.0 ft3 2.7 (2.-4.4) 2.8 2.
Avatar f tn My doctor rx'd generic Synthroid and nature-throid to be taken together. Is that right? I thought both those meds were T4 meds. Can i take them together?
Avatar n tn I recently finally got a precription for Nature-throid and now am having trouble finding any as they are "out of stock" it seems maybe because so many people have switched. They tell me this could be 90 days or so.... Very frustrating as I have been trying to get off Synthroid forever and now finally I can switch, yet I cannot get it... If anyone has been able to get this at a pharmacy could you please let me know? Thanks so much!
