Avatar f tn If you go to chemocare.com you can read all the side effects of Tamoxifen. What you mention are all listed there. The weight gain no doubt is due to fluid retention which is one of the side effects. You might discuss changing drugs with your Oncologist as there are others available but keep in mind that they all have similar side effecfts even though you mjight not experience them to the same degree. Avatar n tn Just a guess and a thought...angina can be a side effect of Synthroid (or any other brand or generic levo). Google "synthroid + angina" if you'd like to read up and see if that seems to be what you're experiencing. Do you know your FT3, FT4 and TSH levels? And the FT3 and FT4 reference ranges? If you're slightly overmedicated (as defined by FT3, NOT TSH), it could be causing this.

Avatar f tn Don't know why they should have different effects since they are both T4. Did you change anything else during the time you switched that could have affected absorption or conversion to T3? What were your FT4 and FT3 levels before and after the switch to Synthroid?
Avatar n tn I have no idea what to do and though I have only been off the Synthroid for 4 days, the side effects have not abated. Anybody have any thing to say to help me understand what is going on? I'm so upset and exhausted from lack of sleep....I was feeling FINE before Synthroid!!!
Avatar f tn My Endo told me when starting out on Synthroid and also each time he raises my dose that I may have some palpitations or "heart flutters." Each person is different. I have noticed them a bit, but nothing terrible. He said it should go away within a week or two after in your case, starting the med...in mine, when he raises it. Nothing to be alarmed about.
Avatar m tn I understand the unpleasant side effects are common reactions to T4 meds, although many people take longer than 3 days to feel them. What I'm wanting to know is: Is it likely that I'll adjust to the dosage and the side effects will lessen? Or is it a possible sign that I've got too high a dose? Based on what I've read here, and in the fine print from the Levoxyl package, it seems likely it might be transitory.
Avatar m tn Hi, I started taking Synthroid .075mg last weekend (Sunday),.
Avatar f tn I was having bad side effects from synthroid such as headache, palpatations, high blood pressure, dizziness, nausea.. so i wnt off the med until my dr could switch me to something else. I am nervous that i have been off for 2 days and my levels were 8.8 at the time I went off.. am i in trouble , I am to start my new meds levoxl half the dose tomorrow , so officialy off for 2 days and back on a low dose, trying to see if it is my system regecting the drug or if it was a manufacturing problem.
Avatar n tn what side effects from thyrogen shots? I had pill uptake in Feb. my cancer is back, stage 3 pap. I got extremely sick from the pill, hopefully not so much from the injections. This discussion is related to Cancer's back, alternative treatment to going off synthroid?.
Avatar n tn I wouldn't worry about anything but taking the synthroid to get that tsh level up, so you can feel better. You may not have any side effects at all from the synthroid...there really isn't anything bad anyway....maybe just annoying. :) You will know over time if it is the right med for you....regardless it will improve your levels. You tested positive for antibodies so expect fluctuations in your thyroid levels.....sigh....welcome to our hashimotos club here.....we feel for you.
Avatar n tn Hello, it has been a year since my surgery and my TSH levels are still not normal and I still don't feel "right" I have been on 6 different medications with varying "side effects" from palpitations, sweating, insomnia, numbness/tingling, adic reflux, foggy head, blurry vision. First medication tried was .75 of Synthroid, then generics, Cytomel, Armour. Currently on .25 Levoxyl on 4 times per week.
Avatar f tn Are you injecting prior to bed? The sweating and aches waking you up? And, did this sweating just start with the increase or did it start w/the lowest dose? Mine started w/the low dose. Sorry for all the questions. Just want to get an idea of how it all has transpired. I did see gradual improvements if it's any consolation. How are you feeling otherwise LollyBrown?
Avatar n tn My expierence has been if my synthroid dose is too much I have excessive sweating, but if my levels are lowered No problems (with sweating). It seem for me that in order to feel alert and not loose hair I have to have my tsh level on the low side-but the catch is I have to put up w?sweating easier and feeling anxious. Do you know what your last tsh level was and why he lowered your dose??
