Avatar f tn About 6 months ago, almost nightly I began having recurring painful feet, or leg cramps, for which my doctor prescribed 100 MG of Gabapentin daily at bedtime. It hasn't helped and also, the warning sheet for side effects was scary. When I got my annual bloodwork done in May, my FREE T4 was high at 1.21. My doctor lowered my Synthroid dosage from 75 to 50 MCG.
Avatar n tn After 3 days, I started having numbing in my left side and cramps plus the heavy head and low blood pressure. Now the doctor has asked me to stop taking the medicine for a couple days until the symptoms go away. Two days now, I still have numbing, heavy head, cramps and burning in the back of my head, arms, legs and pulse on the side of my head. Thank you for taking the time to help.
Avatar m tn Hi, I started taking Synthroid .075mg last weekend (Sunday),.
Avatar f tn I have been on tamoxifen for almost a year now and still have hot flashes, vaginal dryness and itching, leg pain and swelling. I also take synthroid (after treatment of graves disease years ago). My OB/GYN suggested an antidepressant for the hot flashes and vaginal dryness, but I've since heard that it can reduce the effects of Tamoxifen. Is there anything I can do about the weight/swelling and/or the hot flashes.
1616588 tn?1298639117 Upset stomach, back pain, leg cramps. I can hardly drive or walk for that matter. Most of all the symptoms that I have read on this I have had. At one point I thought I was dieing. I have had Insomnia and I have sleep apnea too. I am calling my Doctor to either take me off of it or lower the dose. I can't live like this and feel like this. I am also very Depressed. I was almost bed stricken this week-end with pain.
Avatar n tn Just a guess and a thought...angina can be a side effect of Synthroid (or any other brand or generic levo). Google "synthroid + angina" if you'd like to read up and see if that seems to be what you're experiencing. Do you know your FT3, FT4 and TSH levels? And the FT3 and FT4 reference ranges? If you're slightly overmedicated (as defined by FT3, NOT TSH), it could be causing this.
Avatar f tn Don't know why they should have different effects since they are both T4. Did you change anything else during the time you switched that could have affected absorption or conversion to T3? What were your FT4 and FT3 levels before and after the switch to Synthroid?
Avatar n tn I have no idea what to do and though I have only been off the Synthroid for 4 days, the side effects have not abated. Anybody have any thing to say to help me understand what is going on? I'm so upset and exhausted from lack of sleep....I was feeling FINE before Synthroid!!!
1460967 tn?1512401138 Also my breast have gotten much much larger im having pretty bad cramping randomly lower abd and have noticed iv been having lots of leg cramps! I definitly dont think its a clot or anything! Also have started having anxiety/panic attacks! I wake up heart racing sweating! Iv never had this ever....so i'm wondering if it could be the ring or something else?
Avatar f tn My Endo told me when starting out on Synthroid and also each time he raises my dose that I may have some palpitations or "heart flutters." Each person is different. I have noticed them a bit, but nothing terrible. He said it should go away within a week or two after in your case, starting the med...in mine, when he raises it. Nothing to be alarmed about.
Avatar n tn Hi, Sorry to hear, your aching. I am hyperthyroid and ache, all over daily, mostly my left shoulder/arm. Pain meds do not seem to help at all. But what does help, is just laying down and relaxing, when the aches get intense. Hope you feel better. Good luck to you !
Avatar n tn what side effects from thyrogen shots? I had pill uptake in Feb. my cancer is back, stage 3 pap. I got extremely sick from the pill, hopefully not so much from the injections. This discussion is related to Cancer's back, alternative treatment to going off synthroid?.
Avatar f tn I can suggest that for the leg ramps you can definitely eat more bananas and that will help decrease the chance of leg cramps.
Avatar n tn I wouldn't worry about anything but taking the synthroid to get that tsh level up, so you can feel better. You may not have any side effects at all from the synthroid...there really isn't anything bad anyway....maybe just annoying. :) You will know over time if it is the right med for you....regardless it will improve your levels. You tested positive for antibodies so expect fluctuations in your thyroid levels.....sigh....welcome to our hashimotos club here.....we feel for you.
Avatar n tn I had the same leg cramps and found it was parathyroid damage and I now have to supplement Calcium and Vit D. Unfortunately I have struggled with hypo symptoms as well and couldn't find a doctor to try anything besides upping the Synthroid. I am on my 5th doctor after 18 months since surgery - I believe I have found the right one this time. They believe in getting your levels to optimal not just within normal range. Best of luck to you, be patient and don't give up.
Avatar m tn Recently found magnesium helpful in curing severe leg cramps. Of course I know my low potassium could add to the leg pain. Best to consult with you doctor first. Looked up Telmisartan side effects for you.-. Back pain and myalgia are side effects. Adverse effects are related to the cardivascular signs and symptoms. Are you taking any diurectics? That group of medications can change your electrolytes quickly.
